> 3 dayWhile Ive recently gone back to school through an online college program! I found that my typing skills were not able to keep up with my thought processes. This program is allowed me to save substantial amount of time typing reports and as responding to classmates in classroom forums. Since using Dragon my reports and other materials for class has improved while reducing the need to recheck for missing or lost words that my typing skills could not keep up with my thoughts.

Greater than one weekI tend to talk fast and mumble a bit and run my words together. Once, I got the hang of talking to Dragon, he and I seem to be on the same page most of the time. When, I am tired, well lets just say, Ive learned a few new words. As long as you speak clearly and at an even tone this program is great for typing in word and e-mail programs. Sucks in Excel, and takes over the +/- keys on my wireless numeric keypad. Corrections seem to take time, though some are relatively quick. I think that its me. There seem to be less mistakes every day.

> 3 dayI really like this product. It works well. Sometimes it types things I am not sure where they are coming from but for the most part this types exactly what I say and does it quite fast as well. I do recommend this to others, but it does need to be trained to your way of speaking and your accent or dialect to know what word you want typed.

> 3 dayThe insane procedure you must go through to activate this software is maddening. They tell you to go to a website that is frequently down and upload proof of employment at an academic institution and then they say you have to wait 24 hours before they email you a serial number. After trying for two days to get to the website which was always down I called tech support and they said theyd email me the serial number. I waited three more days and finally got an email from them telling me to go to the website again. I found a solution to activate on my own at [...]

> 3 dayOkay everybody, I am not one to write a review, but after seeing everything that has been written about this product, I decided I must write a review. A lot of people, have been bad mouthing the fact, that you have to verify your student status to receive the serial number from Nuance. I can tell you now, for all of you who have a .edu address, this will not be a challenge whatsoever. I received my Dragon NaturallySpeaking, from UPS about an hour ago. Within that time, I did the online verification of my student status, received my serial number, install the program, and I am now writing this review I using my headset and my Dragon NaturallySpeaking. One recommendation I would strongly make, is that you invest in a better headset. I invested in the Koss CS 100 headset is thus far everything is working very clearly. I spent about 20 min. reading some of the documentation that they give you to learn your voice. In that short period of time, you see the results. As a graduate student, who is often writing anywhere between 20 and 60 pages a week of text this is going to be a lifesaver. I hope many of you will be able to make the same investment.

> 3 dayThe software is great from what Ive seen of others using it at school. The verification process is completely lame. Seriously, two days for verification even with a school email address and school id that you have to scan and send to them. I have used many educational versions of software, they have all been reasonable to validate. Even $1500 CAD software was usable within minutes. Almost worth paying full price.

> 3 dayI was hoping for a painless process getting my serial no. based on one or two favorable student reviews. You have to go to there site and download some form of school ID. before you can get serial no.. This sounds simple but can be complicated because you have to wait for Nuance to get back to you which they say could take up to 30 days. I read that and said to myself no way, I will send this back Pronto. I finally got through to someone on the phone after there meeting at 10 a.m. (no one answers the phone from 9-10 ) who gave me little hope except to try live chat, which was my solution. They viewed a form of school ID I downloaded them ( not a student ID ) and was approved and had my serial no. emailed to my school edu. address in less than 10 minutes. There approval process to me seemed antiquated at best and painstakingly frustrating at least. Now if I can get Amazon to give me my training Video that appears to be part of promo purchase I will be ecstatic. I then loaded Dragon with version 11.5 sweeeeeet! Included headset did not work well at all. I have a pair of Turtle Beach gaming headphones ( x11 ) that worked real well with Dragon which kind of surprised me because they did not work very well with Microsoft Voice Recognition ( I guess that is why I purchased Dragon, Duh ). Well I hope that helps some of you who truly do want to slay the typing Dragon with ground breaking speeds.

22-11-2024Have a computer that was new 5 years ago. I loaded Dragon, provided documents, did training and worked through the tutorial. The first document I tired to create was a test document. It hung up so I closed Dragon and opened it again -- I started creating a document again and got a BLUE SCREEN. The recommendation from Microsoft was that I remove the software. So I did. But I am not that disappointed - though I am out my experimental investment. Dragon was so slow in recording that I could say a complete paragraph before it could finish the first sentence. I cant write that way -- as a fiction writer I need to be fluid and I can wait for the computer to catch up with me. The advertisement said Dragon would be 3 times faster - that would be very true if you cannot type. I was hoping for a different mechanism for typing -- I am on the computer all day at work. This was not the answer for me. I also purchased a better headset -- it did not function at all with Dragon.

> 3 dayThis is a fantastic program. It can open doors, not only to the disabled, but to people from all walks of life. We can think much faster than we can write, or type. This program helps to corral, and then organize our thoughts. Im using it for school right now, but who knows? I might write a book later. I never saw myself as an author, but this program makes it possible. Now that I am able to write it, it will be up to the population to see if they are interested in what I have to say. Every child, and student, should have this program.
