Greater than one weekThe product does Not come with a serial number. You are instructed to go on line and submit your information and the product number. A few business days later you will get an email that will ask for a copy of your student ID card and other personal information in order to be granted a serial number so that you can continue with the long enrollment process before you will be able to use their product. I submitted everything they asked for but it is now several weeks later after purchase and the customer service people keep emailing me that they have not received my student ID information. I have numerous outgoing emails that I sent to these jokers proving that I did submit my student ID and the other personal private financial information that they requested, but still I have not received a serial number from them. The makers of this product are scam artists. I believe now that there is no way that their product could possibly work. Do not waste your time or money on this product! It is just not worth it. I gave them 1 star because there was no option for a zero star or a negative star. This company is very bad.

> 3 dayI was hoping for a painless process getting my serial no. based on one or two favorable student reviews. You have to go to there site and download some form of school ID. before you can get serial no.. This sounds simple but can be complicated because you have to wait for Nuance to get back to you which they say could take up to 30 days. I read that and said to myself no way, I will send this back Pronto. I finally got through to someone on the phone after there meeting at 10 a.m. (no one answers the phone from 9-10 ) who gave me little hope except to try live chat, which was my solution. They viewed a form of school ID I downloaded them ( not a student ID ) and was approved and had my serial no. emailed to my school edu. address in less than 10 minutes. There approval process to me seemed antiquated at best and painstakingly frustrating at least. Now if I can get Amazon to give me my training Video that appears to be part of promo purchase I will be ecstatic. I then loaded Dragon with version 11.5 sweeeeeet! Included headset did not work well at all. I have a pair of Turtle Beach gaming headphones ( x11 ) that worked real well with Dragon which kind of surprised me because they did not work very well with Microsoft Voice Recognition ( I guess that is why I purchased Dragon, Duh ). Well I hope that helps some of you who truly do want to slay the typing Dragon with ground breaking speeds.

> 3 dayUpdated: 5/25 Probably the worst software experience I have ever had. Waited three days to get a serial number. Had to order a new headset as the one included is GARBAGE (ill fitting and cumbersome-it kept sliding off my head.) Spent the next 10 days trying to make this work for me to no avail. It is amazingly frustrating, a printed user guide would have been very helpful (the 108 page manual is available if you hunt through their website, but you cant read it and keep the screen clear to practice.)Could not open anything other than straight Windows programs like WORD, Outlook and Excel. for some reason, my wireless connection key kept being clicked off when I was using it! It could not open my Yahoo email inbox! I do alot of legal research for school, it could not begin to find its way through court citations in either search or dictation mode. I use Open Office for work and that was almost funny...however,neither my professors or boss would find the quality of work I was able to turn out using Dragon even slightly amusing. I ordered this as I have a hand nerve issue and thought it would be very helpful. Major headaches and wasted hours are not helpful. I would have been better off spending $100 on additional wrist braces and painkillers to ease my discomfort. Am going to try to get a refund.

> 3 daythe verification process is absolutely ridiculous. Never before have I had such problems with getting a product I have purchased to run- it has literally been MONTHS of trying. Talking to a live person is not an option- it all goes through chat or email....very frustrating.

08-06-2025I ordered this on September 6th, 2010 and received on September 11. The product arrived with out the product serial number that you needed to start the registration and student verification process. Attempted to contact Nuance customer service and was told that it would take up to 2 days to get a response to my email. Got my email response 2 days later and the response seemed like they did not read the email. Finally, got to talk to customer service after having to take off work in order to call them during their service hours and was told that that I would have to send them a copy of the receipt and that they would send me a a response within 2 days after the request. Went to the web site to start the process and decided that it just wasnt worth the hassle. I sent the product bask without ever having a chance to use due to poor quality control and a cumbersome customer service resolution system. Would not recommend buying anything from this company unless you dont mind the hassle if you have a problem. I know several people who use Dragon Naturally Speaking and say it is a very good product but I dont have the time to deal with poor customer service if there is a problem. Buyer Be Ware. jthomas

> 3 dayI really like this product. It works well. Sometimes it types things I am not sure where they are coming from but for the most part this types exactly what I say and does it quite fast as well. I do recommend this to others, but it does need to be trained to your way of speaking and your accent or dialect to know what word you want typed.

> 3 dayWhen I purchased this product, it came without all of the information, meaning that I couldnt use the program. Neither Amazon, who sold the program, nor Nuance, who provides general support for the program saw fit to do anything about it. I was exceedingly dissatisfied with my purchase and ended up wasting a lot of money on a corporate wild goose chase.

Greater than one weekI have started using this product in the last half-hour and Im already using it to write the review. This software has quickly started recognizing my dictation. Activation was real simple provided you had a student e-mail account ending with a .edu. In my experience, it took me less than 5 min. to jump through the activation hoops. Others may have experienced problems because they did not have a EDU e-mail account. To my mind, this is a basic requirement that should be met. If someone does not have an EDU account it is very difficult to believe that he is a student. Student software then becomes a joke. The premium version of this software has been well reviewed by others on this site. I therefore do not have much to add to the review. Im enjoying using the software and I will report any problems if I should encounter any.

Greater than one weekI have owned Dragon NaturallySpeaking since version 3, and have always appreciated the excellent improvements. My experience with Version 11 is that it is a significant downgrade from the quality I have been used to. The software crashes frequently and I have to exit and reload to continue. Ive tried reinstalling, but that does not help. In addition, simple things are quite annoying like if I place my cursor at the beginning of a sentence, it does not capitalize automatically. It also does not add spaces automatically. Dragon NaturallySpeaking never used to do this with the previous Version 9 and 10 that Ive owned. On the more positive side, the accuracy is excellent, and Ive experienced that with previous versions. In my view, definitely not worth upgrading unless theres other applications or improvements that suit ones needs, of which Im unaware.

Greater than one weekI tend to talk fast and mumble a bit and run my words together. Once, I got the hang of talking to Dragon, he and I seem to be on the same page most of the time. When, I am tired, well lets just say, Ive learned a few new words. As long as you speak clearly and at an even tone this program is great for typing in word and e-mail programs. Sucks in Excel, and takes over the +/- keys on my wireless numeric keypad. Corrections seem to take time, though some are relatively quick. I think that its me. There seem to be less mistakes every day.
