I love this keyboard. Its switches (gat brown) are smooth and quiet, and the form factor is great if youve never used a compact layout before. I occasionally find myself missing the arrow and delete keys, but I dont often wish I had them on this board. Its easy to customize, but does lack some lighting customization that you can find from the likes of Razer or Corsair. I would still take this in a heartbeat over any of their products, though. Cant beat the $99 price point either!

Ive owned this board for around five months now. I love almost everything about it, but theres one issue that I cant seem to fix thats hampered my experience with it. Occasionally the board will completely freeze up. Most notably while Im gaming , itll freeze and be stuck on the W key. The only things that temporarily fixes it is unplugging it and plugging it back in, or switching profiles. A real shame, this would be five stars without this issue.

As of writing this review Ive received three copies of the Durgod Venus. I had read the comments previously to buying the product and thought it was probably just a few specific copies facing the freezing issues and that I wouldnt face any problems myself. The first keyboard I received was a white 60% with Gateron reds, which unfortunately... had the dreaded keyboard freezing issue, which is only solvable by unplugging and plugging back in the USB-c cord. Okay, I thought, I would try another and see what happens. This couldnt happen again, right? So I returned the unit and chose a white 60% with Kailh Box Red switches. Same thing; random disconnects OR it would stay on a random key input indefinitely. Okay... great, this was the last straw. So I said screw it, Ill order one more just to see; and get this: The copy that I received just two days later after I returned the previous unit was a USED copy. The keyboard package was already cut open, there were a few hair strands under the keys... and to put the cherry on top the left control key was sticky and barely useable. Please, if youre reading this, dont take the risk buying this product. I personally wont be buying from HK again. In fact I would stay away from HK overall. I was able to return everything easily, but this should never be tolerable with any product ESPECIALLY for the price were paying. Go buy a Ducky, Glorious Keyboard, or an Anne Pro. You can also look into some budget custom mechanical keyboards if you want that premium typing experience.

Pros: Stylish, feels like quality materials, cool RGB effects Cons: Freezes mid sentence, you have to cycle power to the keyboard to recover at which point you have to reprogram the RGB or select it from their horrible KB app. The app doesnt resize for resolution so in my case, my 1520x1440 display caused the screen to clip the upper and lower portions so I could not use the app without changing resolution first, then was required to use the task manager to kill the app. Its terribly annoying especially coupled with the constant resets. Without those two issues it would be rated much higher but the freezes and software are nonstarters. I have requested a refund/return and I bought the Red Dragon instead.

Let me preface this with a few things. I originally bought an Anne Pro 2 which comes to find out later doesnt work well with a PS4. It just turned itself off about once or twice, every single game. So, returned that to buy this after a bit more research. This keyboard is absolutely perfect. Got mine with Cherry browns and use it to play Warzone on PS4. Highly recommend.

I can say that this is a great keyboard. In fact it is the only keyboard on the market that I really want; 60%, aluminum, fairly quiet because of the dampener pad, a huge selection of switches, and tap keys for a less than ideal, but usable arrow key solution. Which is why it is so frustrating that Durgod is leaving me in the lurch, I mean, I wont buy another out of principal, so I have to deal with this one, Along with my G Pro Wireless with a malfunctioning middle click. I am really tired of these companies and their warranty shenanigans. So what happened was pretty much since day one or so, cant remember now, the keyboard has been randomly disconnecting, shocking me (literally), making my monitor flicker on and off, getting stuck repeating keys, and/or the RGB goes crazy. It is often a combination of a couple of these. The fix is and has always been to unplug and re-plug the cable. At first I thought is was the cable, so I just kind of ignored it and eventually bought another cable. I usually pay close attention to this stuff within the 30 day return window, but this time I didnt. So after installing the cable, I finally found a pattern, it has something to do with electro static charges, as for months after I got this, every time I got up from my chair quickly, I got a shock, and my monitor would flicker once. I thought my house was just dry, etc... Now when I move to and away from this keyboard, I have to be very careful to discharge any static before I touch the keyboard, as if I dont, and sometimes anyway, the RGB will go funky, and the keyboard will go out etc... (see above). This happened in two different homes in two different rooms. I am also pretty sure this keyboard was responsible for shorting out an external sound card worth $40. I am afraid it is going to fry something else in my computer. So shortly after I got the new cable with no luck, I emailed Durgod about it and got one email back very quickly. It said Send address, we will express to you or something like that. So I did, and again, and again. No response. So I have no choice but review it poorly. I know everyone says this and never does, but I will update this review if they respond before the warranty period is up. I am sure I just got a bad one, but Durgod needs to make this right.

This keyboard is absolutely amazing. Super solid aluminum frame, really nice PBT keycaps, bright rgb, and the typing experience is super smooth due to the gateron brown switches. The software is a little bit rough around the edges, but once you figure it out it has so much customization. I traded my Razer Huntsman Mini for this keyboard and it was worth it. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a switch to a 60% keyboard. ( As of August 18th) My board has already frozen twice. Once today and once yesterday. All you have to do is unplug and plug your keyboard back in but it is definitely annoying. Requested a new cable from HK gaming and they happily sent one out. However, the cable did not fix the freezing issue. I am going to request for a full replacement and see if that one also freezes.

So I have been using this keyboard for a while now and honestly the keyboard overall has been great! No problems in the first half year of use, and overall build quality is amazing. Listing some pros below: -great switch options (personally went for gateron silent browns) -heavy base which is great for gaming so it doesnt move around -small 60% style (also a con for some) -overall great feel I only have one con over constant use over the year is that the base of the keyboard actually warped, maybe from how tight the screws were tightened, which isnt too big of a problem but noticeable at times. Overall good rating though.
