> 3 daySwitched from a full size keyboard and man is this thing so small! Feels great to game on and being aluminium it feels sturdy. Kinda wish the key caps were aluminium too but for oh well. Definitely would recommend to anyone wanting a smaller keyboard.

> 3 dayThis keyboard is one of the best sounding and has the smoothest typing experience Ive ever had in a stock pre-built. It has pre-lubed stabs straight out the factory and even has a layer of foam for dampening underneath the PCB to help with pinging sounds. However, the number one thing that killed it for me the most is the freezing issue. Just two days in within using it, the board already began to freeze up while playing games or browsing the web. It would either be completely unresponsive or act as if Im still holding down the last key I pressed, continually. The only way to resolve the issue was to unplug and plug the cable. Ive tried numerous USB Type-C cables on it but to no avail. I tried contacting support and they were nice enough to send me their upgraded cable but I highly doubt that would solve the issue as I personally believe it has to do with the board itself. If it wasnt for this glaring issue, this would be an easy 5 star. Its a shame.

> 3 dayMine started showing the well-known freezing issue, which is a big, big issue. What would happen if you are an engineer and your enter key got stuck while you are executing a very important, dangerous command? I thought this happened only to me, but apparently many folks got impacted by the same freezing issue. Please search for the issue on Reddit or any other communities before thinking about purchasing this product. Unfortunately, I noticed this issue after my return period ended, so I was not able to send it back. I am just going to trash this out.

24-11-2024This review is for the Durgod Venus with Kailh Box Red switches Written on 2/22/2020 Pros: - Solid Aluminum Construction - Factory Lubricated Stabilizers - PBT Double Shot Keycaps - Extremely Powerful (Optional) Software, more on this in my thoughts - Sound dampening foam - Solid RGB Lighting - Tap Arrow key functionality - Includes USB A -> C, and C ->C cables - Includes nice wire key cap puller Cons: - No elevation adjustment Thoughts: Guys..... You dont even know. It actually baffles me how this brand isnt the most sought after thing on the internet. Im losing my mind at how good it feels. Every key stroke is so buttery smooth with only the switch making any noise whatsoever. The aluminum construction is rock solid. Absolutely no flexing, or squishyness to be found here. These switches on this board, are the best things I have ever felt also. They are smooth unlike any other switch Ive tried. I usually go for browns of some sort, but I really wanted to try these since I was considering building a custom keyboard with another type of linear switch. The quality of this thing is just something else. The ONLY better option would be to custom build, and even then its going to be the same quality, except you can say that you built it yourself. It really doesnt get much better than this. The lubricated stabilizers on all of the modifier keys make the keys almost non-existent. If youve never felt a lubed spacebar, youre in for something special. The software is amazing as well. Its not like other software youve used before. Its a compiler software, which means that you actually build your own firmware. This is really nice because, if you wanted, you could install it, customize every single key, on every single FN layer (FN1, FN2, FN1+FN2) to do whatever you want, then uninstall it and the keyboard will always have your customization. The tap arrow functionality is an extremely nice feature for a 60% keyboard. You know that the size of a 60% is wonderful, but you have to sacrifice your arrow keys. Not here. When you turn on the tap function (FN1+Capslock), your right shift, ctrl, fn1, and fn2 become your arrow keys. If you tap them for less than 200ms, they seamlessly act as arrow keys. If you hold them longer than that, they function as their regular selves. Look, if youre on the fence about giving one of these a try, just do it, you really wont regret it. You WILL NOT find anything better at this price point. Durgod have managed to manufacture an enthusiast grade keyboard, at an affordable price. Forget Ducky, and any other big name you can think of like Logitech, or Razer. This is head and shoulders above those. As usual, if anything changes, like something breaks or stops working as intended, Ill create a timestamped edit and adjust my ratings.

> 3 daythis is my first mechanical keyboard, and its mostly perfect—except that the right shift key wont fire unless i tap super hard, which severely interrupts the flow of my typing. i took the keycap off and cleaned it, but im still having the same issue. i love the keyboard otherwise, so i guess ill just learn to be a left-hand shifter. i do miss arrow keys more than i thought i would, but programmable keys make that no big deal.

> 3 dayThis keyboard has so much potential. Having the option to choose your switches from that big of a variety and not to mention it being this price for a 60% these days. The problem is it disconnects all the time, easy fix though you just pull the cord out and put it back in. Wouldnt be that annoying to deal with if I didnt use it for gaming where I lose a gun fight every 6 minutes because I cant move my character. Save your money, if this keyboard style is something you NEED, then get the Ducky One 2 Mini. That is if you can get your hands on one.

> 3 dayGot the white PBT board with Gat Yellow switches. The RGB really pops with the white version. Gateron Yellows are super smooth, and make Cherry Reds seem scratchy. The springs on the linear Gat Yellows are perfectly weighted. The stabilizers on this board are lubed and smoother than pretty much any prebuilt out there, including Ducky. If you want Gateron or Kailh switches, this board is a no-brainer since Ducky doesnt currently offer those options. If you want Cherrys, the choice is harder - between this and the Ducky Mecha Mini. (No issues with keyboard freezing, so maybe HK Gaming included the newer cables with this batch?) Just to add - I have 3 Durgods (2 Venus and a Hades). None of them have had any issue with freezing as a few reviewers have claimed. According to Durgod, the issue could be with the original cables in certain environments (Im assuming lack of proper shielding on the old cables). Contact HK Gaming for replacement cables if youre having issues. Again, Ive had zero problems with any of the three keyboards. Ok, got a 3rd board (lol) with Kailh Box Red switches, and wow. The Gat Yellows used to be my favorite but the Box Reds are just as smooth while being a tad faster for gaming (total travel 3.6mm vs 4.0). They also have zero key wobble due to the box design. And theyre not too fast or light to be unusable for typing (like Speed switches). Just a great all-round key switch.

> 3 dayLet me preface this with a few things. I originally bought an Anne Pro 2 which comes to find out later doesnt work well with a PS4. It just turned itself off about once or twice, every single game. So, returned that to buy this after a bit more research. This keyboard is absolutely perfect. Got mine with Cherry browns and use it to play Warzone on PS4. Highly recommend.

> 3 dayI can say that this is a great keyboard. In fact it is the only keyboard on the market that I really want; 60%, aluminum, fairly quiet because of the dampener pad, a huge selection of switches, and tap keys for a less than ideal, but usable arrow key solution. Which is why it is so frustrating that Durgod is leaving me in the lurch, I mean, I wont buy another out of principal, so I have to deal with this one, Along with my G Pro Wireless with a malfunctioning middle click. I am really tired of these companies and their warranty shenanigans. So what happened was pretty much since day one or so, cant remember now, the keyboard has been randomly disconnecting, shocking me (literally), making my monitor flicker on and off, getting stuck repeating keys, and/or the RGB goes crazy. It is often a combination of a couple of these. The fix is and has always been to unplug and re-plug the cable. At first I thought is was the cable, so I just kind of ignored it and eventually bought another cable. I usually pay close attention to this stuff within the 30 day return window, but this time I didnt. So after installing the cable, I finally found a pattern, it has something to do with electro static charges, as for months after I got this, every time I got up from my chair quickly, I got a shock, and my monitor would flicker once. I thought my house was just dry, etc... Now when I move to and away from this keyboard, I have to be very careful to discharge any static before I touch the keyboard, as if I dont, and sometimes anyway, the RGB will go funky, and the keyboard will go out etc... (see above). This happened in two different homes in two different rooms. I am also pretty sure this keyboard was responsible for shorting out an external sound card worth $40. I am afraid it is going to fry something else in my computer. So shortly after I got the new cable with no luck, I emailed Durgod about it and got one email back very quickly. It said Send address, we will express to you or something like that. So I did, and again, and again. No response. So I have no choice but review it poorly. I know everyone says this and never does, but I will update this review if they respond before the warranty period is up. I am sure I just got a bad one, but Durgod needs to make this right.

> 3 dayThis keyboard is pretty great when its working. I got the kailh box white variant and they are quite delightful. However, my product has frozen up twice for me and has forced my hand to return it. I suggest potential buyers to either get a ducky or wait for the new galaxy lineup of boards
