This is a good program, especially for beginners. My only complaint, which isnt even really a big deal, is the disc needs to be in the computer if you want to watch any of the videos or listen to any sounds. I wish it would have just installed the entire thing onto the computer. Also, I wasnt sure if it would be compatible with windows 7, since there was no mentioning of it, but rest assured, it is compatible.

I got this for my 12 year old daughter - she was very keen to buy herself a guitar, but lacked the confidence to go to a teacher. We had tried a book, but it didnt really grab her attention, and I also told her to go online, but she couldnt find much.

First disc was defective. Amazon quickly sent a replacement.

Does not work with Windows 10. I tried several times to load it on my PC but each time it locked the entire computer up.

After reaching the middle ages I figured that yet again I would pick up a guitar and try to actually learn a little about playing it.

eMedia Guitar For Dummies -- good for beginners . I got it for my daughter, and it was easy for her.

This was a mess. The videos jumped and skipped and the whole thing looked as if it had been made 15 years ago. It was not particularly user friendly and the song selection weak. It actually asked for an older version of the video plug in than the one that I had on my PC. I wouldnt recommend this to anyone. It is just rubbish I dont know who would be inspired by it.

The seller was great, the software I did not like the soft ware is not what I was looking for.

So far, Im impressed by the quality of this software. The only qualification to this is that it is like traditional musical instruction - that is, it starts with the most granular building blocks and works its way upward. For many students, especially younger ones, this might be a bit too slow. Theres always a desire to try and jump right into more advanced techniques. The only other thing to mention is that to really use stuff like the built-in tuner, you need some method to get the input into your PC. I took the simple route of just plugging the guitar into the amp, then running the headphone jack on the amp to the line-in on the PC. Honestly, Im not quite sure what I would have done if I were using an acoustic guitar. The times I just tried to use the PCs built-in microphone, it picked up far too much environmental noise to be of any use. Still, I like this software a lot and unhesitantly recommend it for a complete guitar beginner like me.

Grandson received this on his 11th birthday and is doing well with his new guitar. This book has been a great help.
