Exo Terra Gecko Cave for Reptiles and Amphibians, Reptile Hideout, Medium, PT2865

My African fat-tailed loves this cave! I put coconut fiber and sheet moss in it and he loves to burrow. It’s a great moist hide for him, and it’s spacious enough for him to move around inside. The cave is also super sturdy. Getting this cave was a great choice!

He loves it! I use it as a moist hide with some paper towels to hold moisture. Just check daily to keep them moist and replace them weekly. Easy to clean with smooth surfaces inside and fits great in my 20-long. I place it about halfway onto the warmer side so it stays about 85 inside. He loves to just hang out in his cave with his head sticking out so he can see whats happening. He tries to climb it but its smooth and hes a lousy climber. No sharp edges or weird smell. I debated the large or medium, but the large is the perfect size for my guy.

Perfect moist hide for geckos!!! I bought the medium and honestly when I first opened the box I wasnt even going to put it in my Blizzard leopard geckos habitat, because there was no way he would fit in it. I got the return all set to mail it back to Amazon when I decided that while I had him out, Id just see if hed fit with the lid off. He fit, so I put the lid on and he still fit perfectly! So I just completely misjudged his size in comparison. He loves this hide, and goes in it multiple times a day. I have a warm side with an under tank heater under a rock cave with a heat bulb above it, and a cool side on the otherside of the tank with a rock shelf hideaway and wooden bridge/cave, and then I have this hide in the middle of the tank a the moist hide. I line this hideout with damp paper towels and moisten them for a few days before changing them out for new ones after 3 days. The cave seems to be holding moisture, and my gecko is loving the cave itself since its so dark. Perfect size for geckos. I highly recommend!!

The small is VERY small, please be aware of sizing when you buy it! I bought the small for an adolescent leopard gecko and it was way too small! I kept it and it now sits in my garden as a snail lounge but thats besides the point, it is Teeny Tiny. Look at the dimensions before you buy lol

I gave it high scores because it is well made, good size, easy to clean, and so on. I can not fault the product if my gecko is being fickle. It will not go into the hide. I felt like it was great and had potential. I will use it for someone else or give it to a friend that may be able to use it. Waste not.

My first order arrived and this item was broken into many pieces. I did not lower the rating because it was replaced faster than I expected, 2 days!! The process was also effortless! I cleaned the cave and am using it for my 7 year old, male leopard gecko. He has grown quite a bit and was overdue a dry and wet hide, this one will be the dry, cool side. He loves it, goes over the slightly elevated threshold with ease, climbs on top, seems to like it very much. It is convenient that the top lifts off because when these items are solid, they can be difficult to clean effectively. Very happy with the product and company that supplied it!

I used this hide for an adult female african fat tailed gecko and it is perfect for her! I use it as her humid hide and its great for filling with moss or wet paper towels. Ever since I put this in there, she wont even touch her other hides unless Im cleaning this one, and Ill definitely be ordering more soon for my other gecko! Just wish they came in more colors for some variety.

My first complaint straight out of the package is that theyre actually holes drilled in this so that it can be held in the packaging. I feel like it kind of ruins the overall look. But its a small thing and once I got it in the tank and full of moist Moss, my gecko fell in love with it.

I use mine as both wet and dry hide dependant on shedding. The leopard geckos love them and it simulates their natural behavior as most of their thermo regulation comes from laying on warm rock. (dont use heat rocks though, they can burn). Doesnt hurt that it looks nice, is easy to clean, and is made from quality materials. Absolutely recommend. Edit: I ordered a third one and it took 1.5 months to ship and came dirty and damaged. Took off a star for that. Im getting a replacement as I do still recommend this product.
