Exo Terra Screen Cover for Hinged Door

> 3 dayPerfect for what I needed, fits over my 40 gallon breeder tank with just a little overhang (just a tiny bit bigger by maybe 1/8th inch or so). Currently it’s lidsing the tank housing my bearded dragon so all I needed was a cover and this works great for that!

> 3 dayThis fits the traditional 36 inch by 18 inch breeder tank at Petsmart. I bought it for slider turtles and I gave it 4 stars bc I had to cut on a corner to make room for power cords like the heater and in tank pump. This would not work for fish if you had the usual fish filter mounted on the back of the tank. I’m not sure why there is no room for these cords. I guess it was made for reptiles other than turtles.

> 3 dayThis cover is fine for any completely open-top tanks. If your tank has any sort of obstruction or other structure around its center, like mine does, the cover will not fit properly. Additionally, if your tank is not more-or-less perfect to the size of the cover, the cover will not fit properly. The hinged cover is effectively two half-size covers, attached by a hinge. The half-covers appear to be true covers, in that they have a hanging lip of about a half-inch / 1.5cm on all four sides. The outer lips on three sides of each half-cover are meant to go around the outer structure of a tank to hold the cover in place. The inner lips, which run across the center of the tank parallel to the hinges, I dont fully understand. There are cut-outs of about 1in / 3cm on the inner lips near where the cover will meet the tank wall, so that the inner lip fits flush. This means three things: * If your tank has a *completely* open top, and your tank is more or less exact in dimensions to the cover, then this cover will likely fit as expected. * If your tank has any additional structure that would obstruct the center lip created by the two half-cover pieces, then this cover will not sit flush, and will be raised in the center by about a half-inch / 1.5cm. * If your tank does not meet the dimensions of the cover, such as being too narrow on the shorter dimension by more than about an inch, then it is likely that the cutouts on the center lip will not fit, and the cover will be raised in the center. (And of course, if the tank is larger than the lid, then the outer lip will also not fit)

> 3 dayMy only dissatisfaction is that they dont include clips with the purchase of this. and the clips are in PLASTIC packaging. Considering the animals they hope to keep in might be dying out there you might want to switch to biodegradable packaging, like now.

Greater than one weekI ordered one and the screen was busted through. The replacement had a broken hinge. It’s partly to blame on the shipping, but mostly the frailty of this product. Save yourself some trouble and buy one at petco for $30. The quality is worlds better and I don’t feel like I’ll have to baby this one.
