Greater than one weekBought a different cover that I am returning as it does fit snuggly on the cage. Love that it is able to open so I dont have to take the whole lid off to pet or feed my Dragon.

Greater than one weekFits my 18 x 36 opening 40 gallon breeder aquarium well. Perfect for my bearded dragon. My light/heating system sits on one side happily, and I can still open the other side to access the tank. Very sturdy and well constructed. I like that it isnt heavy and that I dont have to wrestle to get it open since it is not a tight fit on my tank. (which is good for a bearded dragon but might not be suitable for other pets - be aware.)

> 3 dayMy only dissatisfaction is that they dont include clips with the purchase of this. and the clips are in PLASTIC packaging. Considering the animals they hope to keep in might be dying out there you might want to switch to biodegradable packaging, like now.

> 3 dayThis cover is BEEFY, and should easily support the weight of, for instance, a curious cat or a medium-sized lizard who is suspending himself from it upside-down because hes bad. The mesh is thick enough that I have no concerns about my animals punching/pulling holes into it with their claws, though I imagine a mid-sized to large dog could. A human would have to use tools to break the mesh itself, but bending the frame or breaking the mesh off the frame would both be very doable. I bought this for an old 40 gallon breeder tank. As the other reviewed have mentioned, is is not a tight fit, but entirely adequate for most animals. Other reviews show it works great for fuzzy pocket pets, like hamsters and rats. If using this product with clips, I would say you can safely keep any medium-bodied lizard or thick bodied snake in their tank with this product. It would not hold anoles or long-tailed lizards due to gaps near the hinges, and I would not personally use it for corns or other slim-bodied rat snakes, but it would easily hold a bearded dragon, uromastyx, or adult ball python (probably would work for young boas, too, but I have not worked with boas much personally). A think a hatchling ball python could escape, however, and I would probably only use this cover for adult BPs, definitely above 1000g (note that some males never attain that size). As a disclaimer, if you are looking at this product, consider if a 40 gallon is really best for you and your animal. Of the ones I mentioned, most will do better in a larger enclosure. While smaller BDs may thrive in a 40 gallon breeder, many require larger enclosures. Most BPs would do well in a 40 gallon, but it is very dependent on your individual animal.
