This is not the replacement for duct tape since it cannot be used on a tear in a fabric cover, it only adheres to itself so it is good for wires, pipes, hoses etc. I used it on a pressurized hose and so far it has worked very well.

I LOVE THIS STUFF!! I wish I could give it 10 stars! Listen, for those who give this tape bad reviews because they think it doesnt work, then youre simple not using it correctly. I see one review here where the writer suggests buying scotch tape instead - if youre using this tape on a job where you could use scotch tape then youre not using it right. As for the one who said it didnt work on his hose, my guess is that he did not wrap it tight enough. I have used this tape in many situations including high pressure hose systems and it ALWAYS works. I have also purchased the F4 tape and it works the same. The difference is that you get almost six times the amount of product from this six pack. The F$ reads that it is 20 mil thick and the Fix-It does not say how thick it is. I think it is actually not as think as the F4 but I have not found any job where that mattered. The Fix -It take never breaks so I guess it doesnt need to be 20 mil think. Anyway, I am really excited to have found the 6 pack of fix it. I can do even more projects. I have indoor grow setups and this take work so much better than duct tape for vents. There is a lot of venting when you set up a grow tent. Vents to fans and lights and such. When I can, I use this tape instead of hose clamps and it works even better. Absolutely better than duct tape if there is any heat or moisture involved. The ducts tape (which I always used in the past) gets gooey and separates under consistent warm or moist/wet conditions. The Fix-It tape works perfectly. Also, I cannot see any situation where it could wear out.

Silicone Fixit Tape This tape is a truly versatile product that has endless applications. The product isnt an adhesive type holding aid but a roll of substance that bonds to itself. The product isnt messy or sticky so thumbs up for that, it doesnt leave residue if you take it off. The product is silicone in texture and very stretchy allowing you to tightly wrap it around almost anything. The product works by bonding to itself when wrapped over itself it will become seamless. Ive had fun with the product and have used it for many purposes. 1) Ive used it to seal the joints in my Christmas lights where I attach two strings of lights. The tape fastens the connection and completely waterproofed the cords. You cant even see the tape wrapped around as the tape bonds together. 2) I used it on my hockey stick to add a grip with much success. The tape made a silicone grip thats better than regular tap. 3) Im currently using the tape to hold together a garden hose and have had no leakage. The tape seems to completely seal a break in the hose. Moisture and the cold have no effect on the tape. 4) Ive fixed a dyson vacuum hose which is truly amazing since the air pressure is high. I simply wrapped one tight circle around the hose and it solved the problem. Another note is that just a single wrapped is sufficient on most jobs. You can put more if you want to but you can also be economic. 5) I also use the tape to fix a coat rack which is amazing. I broke a hook off rack but reattached it with the tape and it holds. I put a heavy wool coat on the rack and there is no stress on the tape at all. I will defiantly be recommending this product to friends and family. I certainly will buy more as its a great substitute for duct tape.

I bought this tape due to having a leaky copper pipe that dripped water steadily into my dining room closet. I saw an ad on television for Mighty Fixit tape (being hawked loudly by the British guy); its amazing abilities being lauded quite voraciously. As my first introduction for this product was an As Seen on TV commercial, I was skeptical about its abilities to perform well. Color me surprised. This tape is absolutely wonderful. It only sticks to itself, and when it does, it is a solid bond. The tape is stretchy, too, so that you can securely wrap it around whichever surface you want. You may think that it only being able to stick to itself is counter-intuitive; this is definitely not the case. When stuck to itself, it is secure and water-tight, creating a seal that is better than nearly any standard tape on the market. Thus far we have used this tape to repair the leaky pipe (works like a charm!), wrapped it around an electrical cord that a certain kitten decided to gnaw upon, and also used it to create a rubbery grip on a crochet hook. Uses for this tape abound; use it to repair, create a comfort grip, even to render something waterproof. This stuff gives duct tape a run for its money. Even after only a few uses today, this product has earned a coveted spot within my toolbox. I will definitely buy more when I run out. Every household should have a few rolls of this on-hand; be creative and I am sure that you will find just as many uses as I have, if not more!

I have found many uses for this tape.

My 1999 GMC Diesel GMC Suburban developed a leak; the part was no longer available. A friend manufactured a copper replacement however, since he didnt have the original part in hand at the time he was making the replacement, he didnt know how the end was designed. Turned out it was not manufactured large enough to fit into the water line and stop leaking. I finally convinced my mechanic an alternative would be to wrap the manufactured part with Rescue Tape to create a tight bond. My mechanic reluctantly used it since he didnt have any other option; more than two years later, the tape is still holding and there has been no more leak. I keep it in my RV now for any sudden emergency which might develop on the road.

These rolls are a great device for wraping up wiring solder joints to protect from fowl weather. If your connection is outside or exposed theese should protect them.
