My 1999 GMC Diesel GMC Suburban developed a leak; the part was no longer available. A friend manufactured a copper replacement however, since he didnt have the original part in hand at the time he was making the replacement, he didnt know how the end was designed. Turned out it was not manufactured large enough to fit into the water line and stop leaking. I finally convinced my mechanic an alternative would be to wrap the manufactured part with Rescue Tape to create a tight bond. My mechanic reluctantly used it since he didnt have any other option; more than two years later, the tape is still holding and there has been no more leak. I keep it in my RV now for any sudden emergency which might develop on the road.

I use this stuff all over the place. Its very strong and holds up very well. I used it on my Intex Ultra Frame pool to seal the joints and keep out water and prevent rust. Now I live in Florida and it gets so hot you can darn near fry an egg and the steal joints on the pool get just as hot. I seal the pool back in late March and now its September. All joints have held up and are still water tight even after all the exposure they have had. This tape works very very.

The tape is great. Stopped the leak from the bathroom sink drain eliminating the need to replace trap.

The various tapes and colors are a product that you can appreciate when you use it.

I use this to waterproof coax on radio installations. I have also used it to repair leaks under the hood and attach things where I do not want a sticky mess. It is heat resistant and water proof. It has its limitations, it does not stick to anything else. It must be clean and dry or it will not stick, dust and grease will not allow it to bond. It only sticks to itself and when it does it bonds into a solid mass that can not be separated. Repairing things like garden hoses does not seem to work as the tape will not stick to the hose and will allow water to leak past the tape and the hose. Hoses are better repaired by cutting and coupling anyway. It will not repair everything. If you have an application that can be repaired by wrapping the tape around it, this is for you. Otherwise some other kind of tape is what you are looking for. This seems to be the best buy at the moment.

I had no idea exactly what this tape did when I got some from another site just out of curiosity. But when I ran out of that tape, I was trying my best to find more!! This stuff is absolutely AMAZING!! It adheres to ITSELF so theres no stickiness to it - doesnt stick to itself and get twisted (like those sticky tapes do). And, because it is silicone, it fits into every nook and groove of whatever it is youre taping - like hoses for pond filters (that seem to leak no matter how many clamps you put on there along with regular duct tape or Gorilla tape, even plumbers tape). This stuff works its way into the grooves of that corrugated hosing and basically creates a SEAL because when you overlap the tape onto itself, THEN it sticks - to itself!! And it forms such an air tight seal, there is NO WAY youre going to be able to remove that tape the same way you put it on. Its basically formed into a big silicone plug and its not coming apart without some scissors or razor. But, isnt that what we want from a fix it tape? I will use this stuff for all of my projects that are water related and many that are not!!! WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!

I used about 5 feet of tape in trying to stop the leaking of a garden hose coupling. The water finds its way out of the tape, no matter what I do. From this experience I have to give this tape a negative rating. If the manufacturer can suggest a way to wrap the tape differently from its enclosed instructions, I would be happy to try it. If the method worked, I would be happy to give the tape a more favorable review.

The tape did not work to repair a split in my shower floor. It did not adhere to the floor base like the commercial showed so that water would not leak through. I will be returning this product.

This stuff is fantastic. You have to pull it to activate the stickiness but once you figure that out, its the best tape ever. If you ever have a hose spring a leek, this stuff will fix it for longer than the life of a hose. If we have a leaky pipe, we wrap this guy around generously and it stops the leak. We live in Africa where the plumbing materials arent the best quality and plumbers are nonexistent. This stuff passes the Africa test so its handy to keep around you 1st world houses for little fixes here and there.
