> 3 dayNot all silicone tapes are created equally. While this does a pretty good job, it doesnt seem to have the adhesive properties of the original. I recommend this cheaper version for low pressure applications or in the place of electrical tape, but will still use Rescue Tape for the more demanding applications.

Greater than one weekMy 1999 GMC Diesel GMC Suburban developed a leak; the part was no longer available. A friend manufactured a copper replacement however, since he didnt have the original part in hand at the time he was making the replacement, he didnt know how the end was designed. Turned out it was not manufactured large enough to fit into the water line and stop leaking. I finally convinced my mechanic an alternative would be to wrap the manufactured part with Rescue Tape to create a tight bond. My mechanic reluctantly used it since he didnt have any other option; more than two years later, the tape is still holding and there has been no more leak. I keep it in my RV now for any sudden emergency which might develop on the road.

> 3 dayTried to repair leaks in garden soaker hoses. Low pressure application. Does not work. Tried several different times with different amounts of stretch. Goes on well but does not stop leaks. Water squirts out of tape in several places.

> 3 dayThis stuff is fantastic. You have to pull it to activate the stickiness but once you figure that out, its the best tape ever. If you ever have a hose spring a leek, this stuff will fix it for longer than the life of a hose. If we have a leaky pipe, we wrap this guy around generously and it stops the leak. We live in Africa where the plumbing materials arent the best quality and plumbers are nonexistent. This stuff passes the Africa test so its handy to keep around you 1st world houses for little fixes here and there.

Greater than one weekThis is not the replacement for duct tape since it cannot be used on a tear in a fabric cover, it only adheres to itself so it is good for wires, pipes, hoses etc. I used it on a pressurized hose and so far it has worked very well.

Greater than one weekMy first problem was removing the protective plastic-cant believe that they are so cheap to give you not enough to grab hold of- finally had to use needle nose pliers. The tape itself is flimsy- no thickness; flips around on itself; and one time while stretching it the tape broke. The tape is only 1 in width so it makes it difficult to cover much area. Finally, I used on a hose and it leaked. Better to stick to the good stuff- had none of these problems with the Amazon choice - A week later it would form bubble and then burst- a waste of time and money. X-Treme Tape TPE-XR1510ZLB Silicone Rubber Self Fusing Tape, 1.5 x 10. It may be more expensive but it will save you a great deal of frustration.

> 3 dayI wrapped the tape around a garden hose with a split. I went a couple inches past on each end so i had an 8 inch tape wrap when I was done. I even took smaller pieces and just warapped around a couple of times at each end afterward. I then turned the water on: water sprayed out one end of the repair, a big blister appeared in the repair, and then ... the middle just blew out!
