I used this to help waterproof my porch sleepers before installing new composite boards. The composite Tongue and Groove won’t be a tight as the old wood flooring so I thought it would worth the extra protection against water intrusion. I used 2 different bands that appear to be the same product. Each brand has multiple listings with slightly different descriptions. They are the same product. 4 of rolls went on very easily, 2 of the rolls had backing issues. When removing the backing it would tear and would not come off in 1 piece. I’d say over the 50ft length it tore 4 times. The tape was very tacky and of reasonable thickness. Also the 3 tape is mislabeled as 2.

Works great for decking projects. in order to extend the life of the joist .

This is some of the best joist tape Ive come across for a great price. Thought not as heavy weight as Grace Vycor, etc, it has the same tenacious adhesive and is easy to work with. DONT let it contact itself or you will be cutting out those sections. The membrane is thick enough to seal around fasteners and protect deck joists to extend their life. I will most definitely be buying this for my next deck project.

The tape itself is great. High quality, sticky, and durable. However, getting the thin plastic backing off the back of the tape so it can be applied, leaves much to be desired. And, once you get the film off, half the time it then rips part way through and you must then try to remove the film from the other end to get it all off - its nearly impossible to remove it at the point of the tear, as it will get all over your hands. As it is, youll get it all over your hands anyway because you cant get the backing off while wearing gloves.

This is a simple solution to give my deck extra life. The tape is thick and sticks once its applied. The best test I can show is in the picture. I punctured the tape with a nail, and it sealed exactly as it should around the nail preventing leaks. And it helps with any deck squeaks too!! Be aware there is a thin cellophane like layer that needs to be peeled off before applying. It is there so the roll doesnt stick to itself. I hope this was helpful!

I wish I would have known about this kind of tape a lot earlier in my life. Compared to other options, such as spray-on rubberized coating, this stuff is a breeze to use as there is no cleanup needed. It could have made some repair jobs (both temporary and long-term) so much easier for me. It makes a great alternative to flashing in some cases. I am using it on top of my steel garden shed. The roofs on those types of sheds are always poorly sealed. They actually included a roll of standard duct tape with mine for sealing the roof ridge. This duct tape disintegrated a long time ago due to the elements. I just removed the long metal cover piece and used the new tape to seal the entire length of the roof panels. After application, nothing is getting through, not air or sunlight. This is great and should keep the inside of the shed much dryer. I would suggest applying the tape on a warm day for the best adhesion. If its cold outside, warm the surface with a heat gun first. The adhesive is not a hot-melt glue, but Im sure it works better when warm. I just wish I knew about it earlier so I could have used it under my deck boards. I did coat everything with a waterproofer, but that stuff wears off after a few years.

I havent used this on a deck yet but can see its a very strong, heavy-duty tape for the toughest applications. I will seal some gaps with this (easier than caulking) and it will work to prevent cold air from blowing in. As a quick repair method it could also hold something together until you have the tools (like nails or screws) to do a permanent job.
