> 3 dayThe turntable showed up when promised and it took me about 20 minutes to get it set up which was rather easy. IM not normally good at putting stuff together but this was really simple, assembly, leveling and function. Once I was ready to spin I put a Warren Zevon album on and was really nice sounding in spite of the pressing not most top notch. I then put on Carol King, Tapestry which was a much better pressing and the piano, vocals and bass notes were very clear. I used a vintage marantz RS2000 with small Sonus Faber speakers and was very pleasantly surprised by the sonic reproduction. Very pleased. Id recommend to a friend.

> 3 dayI am not a music expert and thus I really dont have an objective way to tell you why you should buy the Fluance RT82 over another turntable. I will say though, I am enjoying this turntable immensely. My stereo system is for the average joe made of a hodgepodge of speakers and stereo components in the 1990s and early 2000s. Most of the vinyl records in my collection are even older than my equipment as I purchased them in the 1970s and 1980s although Ive now bought a few new vinyl albums too. From where Im sitting, these vinyl records have never sounded better than they do on the Fluance turntable. Not being an expert, I cant tell you why this is so but I suspect this is the first time Ive played these records on a quality turntable like the Fluance and not some cheap turntable that came as an add-on with previous stereo systems. In the past, when Ive played my albums on a turntable I remember the vinyl sounding scratchy with a lot of skips. Given that this turntable not only comes with a better needle than perhaps other turntables Ive used it doesnt surprise me that the Fluance would sound better. But I also think that in the past I underestimated the importance of having a turntable with a quality tonearm for tracking of the record grooves, the effort of minimizing vibrations, and the accuracy counterweights and anti-skate adjustments all provide to the listening experience. All the features found in the Fluance RT82 are features that will improve your opinion how good vinyl records can sound on a good turntable. Like many consumers do, I went to YouTube to see what the experts are saying before buying a product. Some of the reviews on the Fluance RT8x that influenced my decision to purchase the Fluance RT82 include videos by Joe N Tell, Craig at Vinyl TV, Andrew Robinson, and Modern Classic. I rarely found a trusted reviewer that didnt like the the Fluance RT82 and above turntables which says something in my book. Despite the RT82 being a good turntable if given a second chance I would have purchased the Fluance RT85. This isnt a knock off of the RT82 as much as admitting that I underestimated how much I would come to enjoy listening to vinyl records. I went with the cheaper option for fear that my enthusiasm for vinyl was short-lived but I see now this is going to be a very long love affair for how I listen to my music.

> 3 dayFluance does NOT pay for the expensive return shipping for this heavy item. And youre gonna want to return it. This turntable has one thing going for it- the aesthetic. And thats how I got suckered. Even the fancy needle cant redeem the shoddy quality of the device. Theres no automatic loading arm and putting the needle on the record manually with the shoddy plastics that make up the smaller parts proves precarious and could easily damage the fancy needle. The external pre-amp setup was enticing for an audio nerd like me who craves pristine sound without electrical interference. Like the well-reviewed OM10 needle cartridge, its more sucker-bait. Fluance doesnt even provide all the required RCA cables and they dont warn you ahead of time. So imagine my experience gifting this to father and setting it up together only to find Fluance doesnt give you all the parts to make it work. I bought matching Fluance speakers and their preamp thinking it would reduce compatibility issues. Speakers didnt even work. And now I have to pay a small fortune to return ALL of it. Save yourself the anger, disappointment, time and money. Dont buy this record player. Looks cool/piece of crap

Greater than one weekI started with the RT-81 and after 9 months I upgraded to the 82. I purchased a separate cartridge, (AT 540ML) so I didnt need the 85. I will purchase the acrylic platter to complete the ensemble. This is an excellent beginner, and audiophile turntable. Both the Walnut and Piano Black look and sound incredible.

> 3 dayI love this turntable! Is a huge step up from what I was using. Looks and operates like it’s a much more expensive product. Very easy to set-up, takes about 10 minutes. You will need an amp with a “phono” Jack or a pre-amp. This does not have one built in.

> 3 dayA turntable needs to be simple, good looking, and accurate. Well... welcome to vinyl perfection everyone old and new to the industry! My setup includes an Ortofon 2M Blue, along with an Ortofon headshell... Acrylic platter. Im also using a Pro-Ject phono box MM which is grounded, and my output is through a pair of Edifier R2000DBs. I only use quality cables...Ive just migrated from a Denon DP-300F. In my setup, the Fluance runs circles around the Denon in every category and its not even close. It makes any of my old turntables look like toys. The workmanship, precision build, weight, look, sound, performance, and price...are all amazing when compared to anything else. The ONLY better quality turntables for the curious listener might be when we are getting into the expensive Rega or McIntosh turntable ranges...and those cost thousands more! Im an experienced listener and tech savvy adult who has been around music, I also play music so I know quality from bullshit and I know turntables... and Fluance is one of the best brands Ive owned so far. This thing is so quiet and the acrylic is so perfect that I cant even tell its spinning unless I look closely. This actually exceeded my expectations because all other brands have some sort of issue or they are all known for something. I cant name 1 thing I dont like about my Fluance turntable... that says a lot in this day and age. BTW, the first LP I listened to on this turntable... Dark Side of the Moon. Money never sounded better. Soundstage, phasing, etc... all candy to my ears.

Greater than one weekWorks great and setup wasnt too bad at all. However - I did order the Walnut but received the White model which isnt bad at all and was my 2nd choice. Dont want to go through the hassle of packing it back up and shipping it back and waiting on the Walnut one to arrive (opened the box on Christmas morning). Still a nice turntable and so far sounds great. I like the Auto Stop function to save on the stylus a bit too. I would recommend but would make sure they know what Color you want and check in before shipping to make sure. Fluance - in the next model up I would add a light so you can see the record a bit on where to place the stylus - especially in low light, etc...similar to the Audio Technica models. Otherwise - worth the price of admission so far for sure.
