> 24 hourGreat concept but the sand was full of mites! looked like they just grabbed a Shovel and scooped into a plastic bag and sold it to me. I returned it. Going to try something else.

> 24 hourThis is not the sand to use for hermit crabs. Calcium in the sand is bad and will build up on their shells and on their bodies which will eventually suffocate them as they cannot grow or respirate properly. Its better to use play sand (can be obtained from places like hardware/home improvement stores and is very cheap for a 50lb bag) and then mix it with a small amount of coconut fiber. Dont learn this lesson the hard way.

> 24 hourI adopted 2 hermit crabs for my classroom last summer and purchased this product and they have loved it! Both crabs have molted successfully in this sand at least once and I am getting excited to upgrade their crabitat and to order more of this sand! I am reading reviews saying it has killed peoples crabs, but ours have thrived with it and the kids love to see the crabs burrows around the tanks edges. Thank you for helping keep our crabbies happy and healthy Flukers!

> 24 hourI dont know what is the difference is between the sand i ordered from amazon and the sand i bought at the pet store (even though they are the SAME BRAND) but my hermit crab avoided this sand until we removed it and replaced it with the sand we bought from the store. I do not recommend at all.
