I was not happy with this product for my hermit crab. The sand had a weird leaf debris that floated to the top surface and every time I scooped it out, more would surface. I ended up replacing the sand. I would not recommend this if youre looking for an attractive sand for a hermit crab cage.

I bought this for our hermit crab tank. You definitely want to add some extra coconut for hermit crabs. There is some coconut mixed in the bag, but not enough to make the right consistency for hermit crabs. But with their powers combined, this sand and the coconut make a great substrate for our hermies.

Super easy to clean. Once I put my crabs down in this substrate it was an instant difference. They started moving right away and exploring. They seem to really like it. Bonus it smells fresh instead of like moist old wood or moldy moss like the one the pet store had suggested. 5 stars from me and my hermit crabs.

This is the closest to beach sand youre going to find commercially available. Its the best sand Ive used for my hermit crabs EVER and I will be buying this exclusively from now on. My crabs absolutely love it!

Way too wet, caused our enclosure to get moldy almost overnight and ended up with little gnats or something in there. Had to leave open for days to get back to normal.
