Greater than one weekReally love this drive and all the space options it offers. Im a film student and need a ton of storage and sturdiness when it comes to my hard drives. However, when I plugged it into my laptop it wouldnt register. The wire it came with which is a USB-C connection doesnt grip the plugs well and feels loose and faulty. I had to use a USB-C cable from my previous drive but its extremely short. Ive owned G drive before and never had any issues with their cables so I was disappointed to see this one not work. It doesnt even have the typical G symbol on the wire like they usually do.

> 3 dayI want to start out by saying that this external HD worked great until it started to get full. I bought this almost exactly a year ago. And the only thing I have used it for is to store media files mp4s, mp3s and a number of other media file formats. It was Thunderbolt compatible and I really liked that. But once it got too the point where there was only 100gb left it started getting glitchy. When I would be downloading it would abruptly stop and freeze and it started to cause my whole laptop to freeze up. And then one day it just stopped working and I lost 6 years worth of memories, movies, my music and a bunch of movies on tape that I got for my blind brother... EVERYTHING WAS LOST! I have tried everything to recover it but from what I can tell there is nothing I can do. Im just devastated and heart broken.

Greater than one weekA video production I did with a large company required that I use these drives to work with them. Fell in love with them after buying and now its the only type of hard drive I use. Its built for durability, but Ive never had any issues of file damage, corruption or anything of that nature yet - like Ive experienced with other brands. Plus, it comes with both USB and USB-C compatibility.

> 3 dayI purchased the 5TB as a master back up, wanted to back up 2 computers plus other files... only problem was? My computer did not recognize it, Despite a manual search, an IT expert remoting in ... nada...I am far from a computer dummy - but I called in a favor just in case I missed something....but no...it whirred continually for 10 minutes straight. My other externals work flawlessly (WD & LaCie) I have lost faith in this brand and will not gamble with my files again.

> 3 dayI thought the first time I was the one who did something wrong but no. This drive is NOT compatible with Mac products. I’m stuck with it now because I waited too long to use it.
