> 3 dayThis is my first review and Im doing this as a warning to others to prevent them from being in my position. I bought this hard drive to backup my photos somewhere that I though I could trust but I guess I was wrong......very wrong. I do a lot of wildlife photography and filled the drive up with just 2 months of pictures. I then disconnected it and set it to the side where it didnt get moved or bumped or anything. I went to see if I had enough room for a days worth of photos and then started to hear the clicking death along with a scratching noise. It immediately stopped reading and I disconnected it from my computer.

> 3 dayA video production I did with a large company required that I use these drives to work with them. Fell in love with them after buying and now its the only type of hard drive I use. Its built for durability, but Ive never had any issues of file damage, corruption or anything of that nature yet - like Ive experienced with other brands. Plus, it comes with both USB and USB-C compatibility.

> 3 dayIts a good-looking unit with a convenient and easy to use cover over the connector. As for value it didnt deserve more than the 3 stars I gave it because of its slow read and write speeds. When traveling (or anytime) slow speeds are time-wasters. I like the ADATA 830 much better despite its being heavier and having a clumsier connector cover.

> 3 dayI was looking for a drive for my 2019 macbook pro. The G-Tech drive looked good because it was large. I do audio so I needed a large drive. I purchased the G-Tech 4TB ATD drive. I transferred all the files I needed to it and started working. After a week, the drive would not mount. it was not recognized in disk utilities and could not repaired. SUCKS! I decided to return the drive and I opted for the 5TB ATD. After the same process of uploading everything i needed to the drive, it worked fine for 2 weeks. Then one day I left my computer unplugged and my computer went off while the drive was connected. When I turned the computer back on the drive was not recognized. I WILL be returning this 2nd drive and I wont be purchasing another one 2 failures and lost work is enough for me I wouldnt do it.

> 3 dayWorks really well. Whisper quiet. Does not get hot. Computer shows you have a full 5tb. The cables that with it DO NOT fit into an thunderbolt port on 2013 iMac or MacBook Air. I thought it was thunderbolt but I don’t think it is. This is USBC and USB 3. That’s it.

> 3 dayModerate read / write speed for a spinning drive, can not be RAIDed or daisy chained, solid & rugged work / storage mobile drive for the money

> 3 dayFormatted the drive on a MAC as journaled. Added ~1.5TB of data on a 5TB drive to copy to my new machine. Connected to machine; drive would never mount. Connected to original machine; drive would not mount. Couldnt format the drive either. Then tried on a windows and no such luck. Lost my trust.

> 3 dayWe bought 2 of these hard drive. They were used on Pro Macs. They randomly had trouble mouthing to the computers. Today the second one failed. Dont waste your money. You can purchase a less expensive portable hard drive for a lot less and dont deal with the headaches that come with this one.
