caveat: I only buy unlocked phones. You dont have to go to a store to setup the phone. Its not that hard to move a SIM card. Starting it the first time took some time, but a lot of that was downloading apps and sync. There was a step where I connected my old phone to transfer everything I wanted over. The phone works great. The screen is beautiful and bright. Havent really tried out the camera much, yet. A nice thing about it being from Google is the latest version of Android will always be available.

I know Im more than likely the rarest type of user for smartphones, as I dont particularly care about the camera, I dont think facial recognition is particularly practical, I rather not use fingerprint security because honestly Ill forget my password otherwise. Im also neither a gamer (at least not on mobile) nor do I use it as my primary work tool (thats what the desktop is for). I am however a rather clumsy person who uses public transport, and this phone is NOT up to that kind of use. The construction of this phone is too thin, round and smooth to be practical for pocket carry (without a case, and screen protector). I do enjoy listening to music, and I have to say while I dont ever expect anything fantastic from a phones speakers (I use headphones for that), they are not only surprisingly weak but have a pretty heavy skew for the bass tones which is bad because I need a strong mid range for alarms and notifications. Talking about the speakers and the flimsy construction. It is worth noting that this phone is soo thin and the bass skew is soo strong that the whole phone feels like its vibrating along with the music, even when its at medium volume. For the speakers to rattle the phone this much, I feel safe in saying that this phone wont survive 2 years of city use. As for software, hardware. Stock Android is the best android so no complaints here, and the hardware is almost too powerful for what I use it for, and I have no doubt this power for the phone SERIOUSLY contributes to its middling battery-life. While new the battery lasts about 12 hours of constant use, but as the phone ages I fear this will rapidly turn into 2 hours, and that contributes to the feel of disposable phone. This is a phone that REQUIRES a strong case and screen protector to be even remotely durable. Overall its a decent phone but not one I can recommend

The Google Pixel 4A 5G truly sounds impressive on paper with its Night Vision mode, powerful videography capabilities, 5G connectivity, extensive suite of apps, large file storage capacity, all-day battery, video streaming, yadda yadda yadda. And its THIN! And its LIGHT! - Only 168 grams! Theres only one problem, however. It is as fragile as a potato chip. Six days ago, I was walking through my neighborhood with my nine-month-old Google Pixel 4A 5G in my front right pants pocket. The Pixel was encased in a Spigen Tough Armor case and was equipped with a tempered glass screen protector. Due to an unfortunate encounter with a dog, I tripped and fell - on my back, mind you. I was fortunately not hurt (although to this day I hope that worthless dog gets struck by lightning), but when I pulled my Pixel out of my pocket to exchange phone numbers with the dogs owner, I discovered the damage you see in the attached pictures. The phone display showed what I can only describe as a green screen of death. From that moment to now, the phone has been totally unusable. The front screen is destroyed, the headphone jack is destroyed, and the back cover has partially separated from the front of the phone. And all this from a drop of about 33 inches. (Im not a tall guy!) A drop that occurred while the phone was not only in its protective case, but was still in my pocket! Which leads to two philosophical questions. First, if a phone has impressive capabilities, yet is too fragile to take with you on a walk, what good is it? I dont play video games, nor do I watch movies on smartphones. And if I want to take pictures, there are plenty of good cameras that I can buy. My Pixels capabilities are worthless to me now, and I am out $500 dollars for a phone thats turned into a piece of junk. Second, whats with the obsession that manufacturers and sellers of certain things have with weight and size? Were constantly being bombarded with marketing that says that we should buy the lightest, thinnest versions of certain very expensive things - as if the presence of even two or three extra grams will pin us to the ground. Its not like were competing in the summer Olympics! I am thinking right now of the Greek myth of Sisyphus being punished eternally by being forced to roll a large boulder up a hill only to have the boulder slip out of his hands just before he gets to the hilltop. And I can imagine someone coming to him and saying, Dude - the reason you cant roll that rock over the hill is because of the smartphone youre carrying! It adds weight and slows you down! You should buy one of our phones, because they dont weigh anything more than air! Thin + light does not always equal cutting-edge quality. Thin + light = cheap sometimes.

I like this phone except for the gestures. The (back) gesture is ackward. You can switch to three button controls if you want. I like the Motorola controls better. Ive only had this phone for a couple of weeks so Im sure Ill get used to it. I would recommend this phone.

I love the Pixel phones. Had a 3a. This is a real upgrade expesially battery wise. I am not into putting $1000.00 dollars in a phone I am going to replace in a year or 2. These phones are great for price. Just know 5g phones are an extra monthly payment expense too. Also if you want a white case for it or any cases that are slim and good you will be on a great search. I do not know why that is. I still highly recommend.

Very nice, inexpensive 5G phone. Battery last solid 24 hours between charges. Issues with screen edge response is frustrating. Software updates are available immediately- for now. Remains to be seen if Google will support for 3 years. For now, best price 5g phone.

Im not a huge fan of the back swipe feature. It interferes with swiping to the left in other apps and when trying to view a photo album. I would like an expandable memory card slot for my already large collection of family/baby photos. The battery life is amazing though! Picture quality is outstanding in low light.

I have the clearly white, and along with the clear OtterBox case it looks great. The speed is top notch and the battery lasts at least 24-36 hours. Vivid pics and quality videos. Only knock is no SD card. Other than that, its a top android phone

Its a great mid grade phone. No phone in perfect, but this is top of the line out of mid grade phone to me. I could feel different in a couple of years but now its great.
