Yeugh.... I was excited about the spiffy camera, mostly the reason I bought it. But it turns out its full of bloatware, and Google apps completely take over all your interface. Contact app was a mess, first had to figure out how to remove all the email contacts synched to it and once I did, the remaining contacts were uneditable. Maybe a bug? The stupid black search bar on the homescreen is unremovable, so I after much forum searching I had to actually had to download a Launcher app to customize my home/side screens to get that out of the way. I dont like haptic feedback on my phone (the vibrations when touching) so I turned it off, but I was still getting them when using the keyboard tool. I also did not like the weird low sounds of the keyboard tool instead of a regular click or tap sound, so either I had to download a new app for that (which there arent many for Android 11 or Pixel) or just ignore it. And unfortunately all these new phone models are so large, so if you have small hands, it makes it difficult to grab the entire phone comfortably while touching the screen. So have to go one-handed mode, plus have a finger loop or something to keep it in place while you use it. But I cant reach the opposite top of the screen anyway. Battery life is good, video stabilization is good. Didnt try many other features before I gave up and returned it. Now just waiting on my refund and hoping we get some decent smaller models on Samsung...

Check IEMI number with carrier before opening. The IEMI number is on the outside of the box. DO NOT unwrap the phone before checking the number with your carrier for compatibility. If NOT opened a refund is available otherwise maybe a restocking fee. I own a Pixel 4a 5G and its a nice phone but call carrier support first. A Pixel 4a 5G is a good phone. An IMEI stands for International Mobile Equipment Identity

High end devices like the Note 20 Ultra are getting easier and easier to pass up. This is a great device, I had a Note 20u for a few months because I wanted to check out the telephoto lens. Very cool and something Id love to see added back to the Pixel line but in the end it isnt worth paying triple the price. Speed wise the 4a 5g is only slightly slower than my Note 20 and in practical terms I rarely if ever notice any slowdowns. Same with battery life, Im seeing similar battery life and I had to turn my Notes refresh rate down to 60 to get decent battery life. No bloatware? Nice plus as well. My biggest beef with my note was the price and the fact that I had nagging issues with Samsungs crapware / system software. Lastpass had continual issues due to the Notes aggressive battery management. I white listed it but there was some sub process getting shut down which allowed overlay and it would cause Lastpass to stop filling. Then I had problems with getting the stupid thing to connect with my Chromebook for unlocking / messaging. The pixel just works. You would be hard pressed to beat what you are getting for the money here. Im a heavy user, dont hesitate to buy this and pass on the overpriced premium devices. They are a waste of money.

The phone is in the right price range and functionality, but was defective. While it could make calls, it could not receive calls. The store employees that helped us said that this was a common problem with this phone. Also, Google apparently did not lay the necessary groundwork to assure the phone was compatible with the T-Mobile network. We verified that it was compatible with the Sprint network, but did not know 2 important caveats: 1) the phone can only access the 5G Sprint network in downtown Chicago, and cannot access the T-Mobile 5G network at all, 2) the phone is NOT compatible with the T-Mobile network that Sprint customers are being moved to. We liked the initial polish and functionality but it was defective and we switched to a Samsung (more expensive) phone which worked without issue.

The phone is solid, it does everything I would expect, it replaced my Pixel XL and for the most part I am happy with the phone. However, in my research last night I found that unless you are on Verizon and get the Verizon Pixel 4a 5G you will not have access to what most would consider true 5g, which is is anything in the 6ghz spectrum and above at the time of this writing. The 5G you will get on carriers other than Verizon is called Sub-6GHZ, and while speeds and coverage are better, it seems like the industry is boasting of its mmWave service in their advertising and I think this is what most are expecting when they here 5g. Does this matter much today? No, most people dont get a mmWave signal, I had to call ATT to find the nearest one to me and it is over 1500 feet away, which is the about how far an mmWave signal can reach, assuming no obstructions. In most cases it wont reach that far given the obstructions it will have to pass through. This is not meant to cast a negative light on the phone, just to give realistic expectation if you get one.

I upgrade from a Samsung S6, so this was a major upgrade. Battery life is great. I can make it through a whole day without needing a charge, which is much different than my old phone. Charger quickly too. Picture wise its a big upgrade to, night and dark photos are really great and daylight or highlight photos have a level of clarity and depth that I didnt expect. Although Im certainly no photo expert.. I would say the photo quality particularly the night time photos are a major step up if ur phone is from a few years ago or simply a cheaper model. Coming from a Samsung, the absence of bloatware was a major attraction to this phone. My only issue was lack of a back button which is easily fixable in the seeing menu under accessibility. Processor and speed wise.. Im to understand this isnt the latest processor but I dont really game so its plenty responsive to me. This is a usb c charger.. I like the larger charger port as it seems more substantial, however didnt like having to buy a bunch of new cords to replace the micro usb. Lack of wireless charger (I believe, never tried it myself) is a bit of a bummer. Price wise.. Im satisfied and although Ive never used one.. its hard to imagine justifying paying double or more of the price of this phone for the latest and greatest model.

In my opinion this is the best pixel there is if you are overly concerned with wireless charging theres no point in paying so much more for a smaller screen just to have wireless charging to buy the pixel 5 thats the only difference between the 4A 5G and the five other than the pixel 5 having the metal body I dont plan on going swimming with my phone anytime soon so I dont see the need and paying all that extra money for that capability either just being real every single thing else about the two phones is the exact same except for the size the pixel 5 bis smaller.

I am not addicted to my phone like most. I break them every few years and I personally cannot justify spending over $500 on a phone. This is the perfect phone. The battery life continues to empress me and the camera takes much better photos than my old Galaxy S7. The switch from my old Galaxy to the Pixel took less than 5 minutes and I was able to set it up completely myself with my existing prepaid plan at Verizon.

I have to say I really like the phone. BUT when I tried to get service I could not because the unlocked phone I bought from Amazon IS LOCKED and could not be unlocked according to their tech department. Only recourse is to return it. VERY DISAPOINTED. It was the perfect size for my hand. I dont understand how they did not know it was locked. Seems like a lot of things I have bought lately do not match the description on Amazon and land up getting returned. The convience of Amazon is turning into a real hassle.

Ive been on the market for a new phone wanted something with large memory capacity and awesome camera system without paying a high price tag for it so I stumbled across the pixel 4a 5g Ive always been an Android girl so wanted to stick with what I know this phone is very nice fits in my hands well good size and weight. Runs fast and takes amazing pics. All my stuff from my old Samsung A50 fit on memory and I still got 100gb out of 128 pretty awesome. And the battery is amazing Im on my phone a lot and battery will last me about a day and half playing games texting surfing the web all that sometimes battery will last 2 days just depends. Speakers are loud if there turned all the way up you can feel vibrations in the phone it doesnt bother me but might others. The screens picture quality is very crisp and clear adjust to the lighting very fast. I love my new phone would definitely recommend to others.
