> 3 dayI was impulsive when I first made this purchase assuming that any product made by google would be better than the competition. However, while waiting on the back-order to fill, I did my research only to find out I had made a mistake for the following reasons: 1. Requires a google account and all of your activity is logged to the google cloud. I have a google account but who wants all their activity logged with the potential to be repackaged and sold for profit. 2. Doesnt support bridge mode in case you also want to use your existing router. 3. Limited to 30 active devices. As households become smart and truly wireless, this really comes into play. 4. No way to name devices that connect to the network. A big F to google on this one. Simple to implement. 5. There are many other mesh solutions that offer better performance. NetGear Orbi, Linksys Velop and Amplifi to name a few. There are other shortcoming that people have identified but nothing I cared about. I think if Google had spent a little more effort with all their R&D money and brilliant engineers, they couldve put forth a market leading product worth $299+. Disappointing. I gave it three stars because its simply average. Returned it unopened today.

> 3 dayThe install on these is amazing. You download the app and pretty much plug them in and its good to go. I had all 3 configured and running in less than 30 minutes. The longest parts of the process were opening the shrinkwrap, it is really tight, and then waiting 6 minutes for google to install the new firmware. The only negative I can say about these is that they arent for a networking enthusiast. It is easy to do simple stuff like port fowarding and assigning a static ip to a device but if you are one of the few, I am not, who is really into networking and want to control everything, this isnt for you. If you want a system that is easy to set up and just works buy this. I recently added a 4th one to add coverage to my back yard. It took 8 minutes to set up. 1 to open the shrink wrap, 1 to add it to the system and 6 to download the firmware update.

> 3 dayTried many different solutions to get Wi-Fi everywhere at the apartment up on the mountains with concrete walls. This was the only thing that gave me signal!

> 3 dayThe point of this purchase was simplicity. Being a network engineer by day, I didnt want to come home and deal with more network issues. I knew I was trading in control for simplicity and I was fine with that. This product was easy to setup. I spent a lot of time setting up IP reservations, port forwarding and controlling how often and when my kids can go online. This all worked very well for about 3 weeks. I woke up this morning to find it was offline. I bypassed the primary access point (router) and made a wired connection to my modem. Everything was working fine, no issue with internet access. I called Google. The rep did his best but his best was to have me continuously reset each of the downstream (non primary) access points. It didnt work. They wanted me to use a different SSID which I refused because I would have to reconfigure all of my 40+ devices. Then they wanted me to reset the primary access point (the router). That worked but all my settings were gone. They told me I would have to start all over again. After looking through 41 pages of 1 star reviews on Amazon complaining about the same thing, I decided to take their advice.... reset and start over. I reset Google WiFi in the form of an Amazon return and will be starting over with Asus AiMesh. Im sure if I could control this device through wired connection on a browser, I could figure out the issue. Googles decision to allow configuration only from a phone is a huge flaw. I cant even backup my config to restore after a reset. This product has been out for a couple of years now. This issue is not new but it is unacceptable. Ive been a consumer of Google services for a long time. My experience tells me they will never fix this issue. It makes me think twice about buying other Google products like the Pixel 3 Ive been thinking about.

> 3 dayWe have always had a problem with wifi in the house, loosing connectivity and poor signal, but not now! The Google Wifi System has given me great wifi throughout the entire house with download speeds of 70+mbs in areas that used to be lucky to have 15mbs. I have a bunch of smart plugs and bulbs and they were always losing their connection, but not anymore! This was definitely worth the money!!!

> 3 dayMax speed 50 Mb per second (500 Mbps), between MacBook pro downloading Video files from Windows PC connected via wires to network switch. So far this is the highest speed I ever seen in wireless network. I like the fact that it auto updates, and receives security patches automatically. I like that I can see how much any device on networks consumes, in real time, over a period of time. I like that I can test internet throughput via mobile app. I like that I can control it from anywhere. I like how it looks and that I can dim the white light on this device. Im using it more that 3 months already and I want to say that now I have less wifi related issues. Bought it for home, and after a month bought it for office. I dont like that I need Android phone to control it, there is no iOS app for Kyrgyzstan. This product is not supported in some countries but it works if you manage to install Android/iOS app. It doesnt work without iOS/Android app, you need the app to use it. Make sure you can download google wifi app before buying it, if you are not from US. I give it 5 stars even I cant install iOS app in my country, cause the product is good and I had no issues with it. Installation is supper easy, and you can set it up via your phone only.

> 3 dayGot this about two years ago to replace my beloved Airport Extreme, and Ive been fighting with it for most of that time. Let me start off with a positive, its got great wifi strength. Probably better than the Airport. However, everything else is just garbage. I run a home network and getting this to do port-forwarding is a real pain, with so many unnecessary steps for what my previous routers were quite simple. You have to reserve an IP for your server machine, then it shows up in a list where you can choose to do port-forwarding. Even that is okay, were it not for the fact that it identifies all your devices by its hardware MAC address -- not what you named it. That results in a long list of Unnamed devices and I had to go through each one, and look at the details to figure out which was my server. Why they go through the harder step of looking devices up by its MAC address is bonkers. So its whoever made the ethernet card or the wifi chip whose name appears in the devices list. And as you can guess, it often misidentifies devices. For example, even my friends Pixel was identified as LG, my Nvidia Shield TV is identified as ES FILE Explorer, my handful of Raspberry Pis are sometimes labelled as such or Chrome OS depending on when I look at it? Its a joke. And there is always a handful of devices I could never figure out, usually around 5-6. It says theyre connected to the router but no idea whether theyre wired or via wifi, because they dont have IP addresses. So who are they? I live in a neighborhood with many, many access points. For all I know, it could be some hackers whos guessed my password. Theres absolutely no way to find out. And there are always some of these Unnamed Devices appearing in my devices list. They may well be nothing, but it sometimes stresses me out. I called support many times, and even posted on their forum, but all I get is: disconnect everything from the router, power it off, power it on and Now what do you see. When I tell them its still there, they say again: disconnect everything... on and on. For a company thats supposed to be tech advanced, this router is a model built and supported by simpletons. Its made to be set and forget. If you want anything, however small, changed, its either impossible or mind-numbingly difficult. Forget Google Wifi and either go with another mesh maker or even just go and get some cheaper ones from the likes of Asus, Dlink, et al. Theyre probably far more advanced in features and configurability. Something tells me the Wifi is doomed to be orphaned Google project, like their previous routers, Google+, Google Wave, so on.

> 3 dayEasy setup. Default IP addresses required some changes to existing devices. Solid performance over entire home and back yard. Never have to reboot or play with the cable modems. Awesome!
