I was looking for something to use to create contact with my 9U soccer players and it worked brilliantly. It has some thickness to it and its sturdy, but not so big that its heavy or unwieldy. I could use it moving my feet easily while drawing contact with a smaller child with no issues to include using 1 arm. This could easily be used for combat sports as well, I would say its perfect to absorb kicks or elbows, with it being rectangular,I wouldnt use it for punching strikes unless they were jabs coming from directly in front. Multiple ways to hold the pad make it versatile, its sturdy and it is lightweight.

I use the blocking pad when training my daughter in lacrosse. It allows us to simulate contact when she practices her dodges so that she can practice absorbing contact while maintaining her balance. Using the blocking pad has really helped my daughter, who is small, improve her balance while taking contact.
