> 24 hourI like the convenience and ease of use of GU Energy gels. The flavors are fine and they dont take up much space in my jersey pockets. I generally use 2 or more on rides of 1.5 hours or longer.

> 24 hourEnergy gels are a fact of life once words like marathon and all of its variants start to enter your vocabulary. To perform your best, you need energy, and one of the best ways of getting energy quickly is consuming energy gels. GU gels are an essential item in my distance running arsenal, and you should seriously consider getting some, too. Unlike SOME energy gels Ive tried, the taste (vanilla bean) actually isnt bad. Do yourself a favor, however, and wash the gel down with plenty of water to avoid that yummy gel aftertaste. The gel sits lightly in your stomach and is quickly absorbed by your body, delivering energy just when you begin to flag. I use these religiously when training for my longer-distance races and when on extended bicycle rides. They fit easily into my running belt, under-saddle bag, and the pocket in the back of my running shirt. Buy them by the case for maximum value! GU wont let you down!

> 24 hourThese are hands down the best trail chowder I have ever consumed! I have been an avid mountain biker since 1990 and have eaten uncountable quantities of nasty sawdust bars, puke flavored bars (see Pro Bar), lumpy gag inducing goo packs, fruity heartburn slime and other varying grotesquiries. These are actually so yummy I crave them when I am not bonking on my bike... Thank you Gu, you have finally made something so tremendously tasty that I actually look forward to trail food time.

> 24 houri used to use the power gels from powerbar. They quit making the only flavor i could stand so i needed to find something else. I did some research to find what was the best bang for your buck as far as taste and effectiveness. I came across this salted caramel GU. BOOM...love it....not only does it help me through my runs, but it tastes great. I actually look forward to having it. Maybe its just because i suffered through the taste of the power gels is the reason i appreciate the taste of these so much. Or maybe not? i highly recommend trying it for yourself

> 24 hourThere are Gu Gel people and then there are the rest of us. I started off in the former camp - used the Gu Gel on a couple long runs and loved the energy burst. So I took the plunge and bought a 24-pack from Amazon, in Vanilla Bean (my favorite flavor). But as my long runs increased above 15 miles, I found the Gu Gel upset my stomach and instead I needed real food to fuel my body. Just depends on your mileage and personal preference. If you like the Gu Gels, Vanilla Bean is great and the price at Amazon (for a 24-pack) is the best Ive seen.

> 24 hourI buy this product regularly because it provides the energy for those days that Im working out for more than one hour. Provides the energy without the added sugars of others products.

> 24 hourI like both the taste and the consistency. It’s vanilla, but not overwhelming and it doesn’t repeat on me like some products do. The packaging is small with no sharp edges. Price is good when compared to similar products. The consistency is closer to pudding than runny liquid so I can eat it in two or three ‘slurps’ without it spilling over my fingers or worse still over the shifters on my bike over 30 seconds or so. I can’t speak to the amount of sodium, caffeine or amino acids but if I’m dragging this always peps me up.

> 24 hourIn my opinion, this is THE BEST tasting power gel on the market. GU has really hit a homerun with this one. A lot of their fruit flavors are pretty disgusting, and the Espresso is kind of grainy. This salted caramel literally tastes like youre eating straight-up caramel from the sundae bar!! My wife and I run 25-30 miles a week with long runs every week, and weve come to appreciate these quick fuel sources. She generally hates these types of gels, but this is the one flavor and brand that she will actually use. Plus, the added caffeine really helps provide some energy for those last few miles on a long run.
