Hatch Baby Grow Smart Changing Pad and Scale

Nothing occupied my mind more as a new mother more than wanting to ensure I was producing enough milk and that my babies were gaining sufficient weight. For my first baby, I had to lug him across the city to use the scales at the peds office and all of the available baby scales were hard and hard to use. Im so glad Hatch Baby created the Grow, I consider it an essential tool for breastfeeding mamas. The Grow is an amazingly helpful tool for easing new mothers minds and the ability to track multiple data points is awesome. And in addition to it being an incredibly useful item, its also so nice to look at and so easy to clean. The old days of having to wash multiple changing pad covers a day is gone. And this is so much more hygienic, since you can wipe it down after every change. Thanks for creating a beautiful, practical item, Hatch Baby!

Original review: I keep getting an error message every time I try to set up the scale. When I contacted support they told me it’s damaged. I haven’t done anything rough with it so it must have arrived that way. Now I have to go through the hassle of returning it…not something anyone with a newborn wants to deal with. Avoid this product!

I love our hatch changing pad. I also love the hatch app that accompanies the changing pad. We track our daughters diapers as well as her feedings. The changing pad is the perfect size and very easy to clean. The only problem I have with it is that after only 3 weeks of use, the white pad is stained orange from her poop. I dont know how to get the stain out of the material.

I had rented a hospital grade scale for one month and it cost $75. So when I heard of the hatch grow scale I jumped on purchasing it. My LO has struggled with putting on weight and i was having to go to the pediatrician for biwkly weight checks. So when he finally put on enough weight I was allowed to stop the visits but I still wanted to make sure I was feeding him enough during each nursing session. The scale has SO many amazing features. You can do pre and post feed weights. Height, diaper output, sleep schedules and add in pump sessions along with nursing times. It’s seriouskt amazing and since having it I’ve been able to gauge his milk transfer amounts so accurately that I can add in a bottle of pumped milk if I don’t think he’s gotten enough during the day. I highly recommend it.

I love this hatch weight scale! It is nicely curved so it works great for diaper changes. Very easy to weigh her after changing as well. Super easy to clean. I was hesitant to get it at first because I felt it was a little unnecessary but overall happy I got it. It’s reassuring to know she’s growing well! I am a first time mama! Before my little girl was born I was obsessed with preparing for her arrival with the best, most innovative products. Once she was born, I found that some products were unnecessary. But that was not the case with the smart changing table pad! It is truly innovative! The scale connects to an multi-purpose app that is both user-friendly and visually appealing. I love the convenient dual function that it provides as it combines two products in one; Both a diaper changing necessity and health monitoring tool! The size is nice as it will suit her even as she grows and will fit on top of any standard changing table. The scale was so helpful during the early weeks of breastfeeding with my little one. I was able to monitor how much breastmilk she was drinking by weighing her before and after a feed. It is so absolutely relieving to make sure she was getting the food she needs! This is a product that provides what you pay for and will get plenty of use! It is definitely not a product that will sit collecting dust in a closet.If you are a new mama, or the family/friends of one, questioning which baby purchases you will really value, make sure to get this one! I wish I had known about this changing pad a year ago. My granddaughter had a difficult first year and was in and out of the hospital. Her parents and doctors were very concerned about and carefully monitored her weight and fluid intake. This would have been so helpful to her parents -- who waited anxiously for her doctors appointments to monitor her growth. I bought this, but the baby is now over a hear old and too wiggly to get accurate readings. The pad itself is very comfortable and easily cleaned, but it would be more appropriate and useful for younger babies (which is why I gave it only 4 stars). Also, you need to be sure you have space in your phone because an app needs to be installed to use the weighing scale feature.

This scale works nicely, our doughter was born 4 weeks early so daily weighings were critical at the beginning, and we found it really easy to use. It functions well as a changing pad as well. The only problem for me (my wife mainly) is that you cannot turn off the bluetooth like you could on the old model! This is constantly sending out a bluetooth signal unnecessarily which may effect your baby, or at the very least is potentially effetcing them unecessarily when it could very easily have an on/off button (and while it technically passes all safety standards, there are NOT standards for babies or even children, only adults, so we do not yet know the long term effects of all this exposure to babies). It is too bad that they do not have a way to turn the bluetooth off while not in use for those of us concerned about limiting wifi, bluetooth etc. signals on a newborn, so we have resorted to taking the batteries out and putting them in when we want to use the scale part which is a pain.

This was the perfect changing pad for our nursery and knowing that it is also a scale makes it even better! It’s so great to be able to easily track our baby’s weight. We also use the app to track everything else!

I bought this right before I had my son a few months ago and am SO happy I did, even though it was a bit more expensive than a normal changing pad: -looove that I can just wipe it off when things get messy. I have enough laundry to clean lol so its nice not to have to also wash a changing pad cover -hes an eating champ now but it was really reassuring the first month when i had no idea what I was doing and I could see how much he was eating when breastfeeding -Its wonderful not to have to pack him up to head to the docs office if I want to see how much he weighs. I like that I can see all of his weight charted out in the app graph -the color works perfectly in my baby boys room but neutral enough if we ever had a girl! :) Highly recommend to any new parents out there. The first month can be so overwhelming and having this really gave me the confidence that my baby was eating and gaining enough! One less thing to worry about...
