> 3 dayThe smell right out of the package is terrible. It’s like I’m newly pregnant again and ready to vomit. I hope this goes away overnight. If not I may have to take it to the basement or garage to air out. It’s a really bad smell and I have a feeling it will linger for some time. Additional Review Later: The smell went away a couple of days later and we love this product and highly recommend it. If you are looking for a scale to avoid weight check appointments this scale is not the one... it isnt as accurate as pediatrician/lactation consultant scales and you will still have to go in for a weight check. However, it is good to have for peace of mind. I wouldnt buy this scale before baby is born (unless you are expecting a premature baby). I would buy it after to see if we wanted it then.

> 3 dayEditing my review to say that the team at Hatch is amazing. They offered a replacement without requiring me to ship back the broken one. Thank you! Original review: I keep getting an error message every time I try to set up the scale. When I contacted support they told me it’s damaged. I haven’t done anything rough with it so it must have arrived that way. Now I have to go through the hassle of returning it…not something anyone with a newborn wants to deal with. Avoid this product!

> 3 dayThe grow is great. Its very helpful being able to measure our babys intake when breast feeding and also keep up on his weight between doctor visits. Its also a great value as a changing table. Its around the same price as the peanut yet you get all of the scale features as well -- a definite buy! Theres no real cons to this from my view -- I guess it could be more sensitive (measures to nearest .25 oz), but if you look at just the plain baby scales on amazon, most of them only go to the .5 oz, so I dont really view this as a negative given that I dont see any better competitors in the market.

> 3 dayExtremely displeased with this product and returning. The app requires an upgrade to even connect to the scale/pad, but refuses to udate. Ive tried everything to get it to connect and it continues to fail. I contacted the support desk via email and hear nothing waited a week and contacted again and nothing. Then I called their support number and got a message that they are no longer taking live calls. Without the app the scale feature is nonexistent so I have a 150 dollar piece of plastic with straps.

> 3 dayWith my first child we had issues with weight gain in their early months. It resulted in many doctor visits to ensure they was steadily gaining. With our second child I wanted to prevent the need to get a newborn out simply for a weigh-in to ensure they were gaining. This product has provided me so much piece of mind in addition to convenience. Its also very accurate- my childs weight only differed an ounce from the doctors scale when used the same day. The scale is easy to use and the corresponding Hatch app that tracks feedings, diapers, and weigh-ins is very helpful. Worth the money!

> 3 dayThis scale works nicely, our doughter was born 4 weeks early so daily weighings were critical at the beginning, and we found it really easy to use. It functions well as a changing pad as well. The only problem for me (my wife mainly) is that you cannot turn off the bluetooth like you could on the old model! This is constantly sending out a bluetooth signal unnecessarily which may effect your baby, or at the very least is potentially effetcing them unecessarily when it could very easily have an on/off button (and while it technically passes all safety standards, there are NOT standards for babies or even children, only adults, so we do not yet know the long term effects of all this exposure to babies). It is too bad that they do not have a way to turn the bluetooth off while not in use for those of us concerned about limiting wifi, bluetooth etc. signals on a newborn, so we have resorted to taking the batteries out and putting them in when we want to use the scale part which is a pain.

> 3 dayMy hatch broke and the company replaced it. Now it ha broken again and they said they cannot replace it because it is the same issue. Apparently the weighing mechanism is very sensitive. I have a baby with special feeding needs and need a reliable scale….as cute as it is and as nice as it seems…this just isn’t a durable product. Turns out it’s just a Very expensive changing table.

Greater than one weekLOVE. I bought this with the sole purpose of weighing my baby before and after nursing to see how much he was eating and it does an impeccable job. I was on the fence because I thought it was ridiculous to pay so much for a scale that I didn’t “need” and was more for peace of mind but I am SO glad I splurged and got this scale. The peace of mind is worth every penny of always knowing if he is eating enough. 4 stars because it is pretty hard and cold (but lightweight which is nice) so we keep a blanket on top of it so he is more comfortable during changes/weighing but the scale will 0 out with the blanket on there just fine. Just make sure not even a tiny corner of the blanket is touching the table surface and is 100% only on the pad because the scale is THAT sensitive which is great! Absolutely would recommend!

> 3 daySo yes, the scale is wonderful, easy to use ... a bit weird in that it does not have a display like most scales, and you have to zero nearly each time you use it. BUT ... I can overlook those items easily, since they would be costly and likely unnecessary, and most significantly, because the Hatch Baby app is so terrific! You can log a diaper type, WET or DIRTY, a feeding (bottle or breast, start and end times, amount down to the decimal point of ounces, and any special notes), sleep time complete with sleep timer, and so much more. This app frankly blows my mind ... its so intuitive and easy to use, even my babys grandma can do it :) If you like the scale, thats great, I do too ... but the app, with its Alexa command set and easy of use for recording and sharing a TON of details you might need for your doctor or other caregivers, is the real reason to buy this scale. Of course, you can get the app without the scale, so theres that ... but combined, its a great deal and one every new parent should consider.
