> 3 dayThe second order I’ve made on this part. First Time was 3 years ago, almost to the day. I think that is a reasonable life for a part that runs constantly in the extreme heat of South Texas. It is a tad expensive for what it is but I can’t really complain. Old parts failed, I ordered and got the new part(s) 1 or 2 days later. I call that great. You don’t really want a septic aerator to be down long!

> 3 dayI am so grateful that these are offered online, especially on amazon. The Alarm on my aerobic septic system went off last week and well I was concerned. I called a company that I am contracted with to identify the cause of the alarm. Within five minutes I was advised that the issue was with my septic air pump and received a quote for $575 to replace it. That did not sit well with me. I did some research and found that my septic air pump can be rebuilt with this simple kit and with the help of some relativity common household tools. There are instructional videos on youtube and step by step guides with photos that will walk you though the whole process located on the internet. Im a very careful person and I take my time; swapping out the old parts and putting in the new ones took about 30 minutes. Make sure you do your research and have all the right tools before you go out there and rebuild the air pump, it will save you some hassle. My research indicated that the diaphragms in these systems wear out faster in southern states where the heat takes a toll on the material that they are made out of. Also, the the septic air pump can typically be rebuilt about two times. I have read that these can last about five to seven years, however I also read that some people have to change out the diaphragm out ever year or two. Just wanted to share those data points with you all. My newly rebuilt septic air pump works great and the best part is that I saved my self from having to spend $500 and get hustled. If you have any doubts, dont worry, you can do it.

> 3 dayLocal septic shop wanted $250 to do this same type of rebuild. They wanted $400 for a new pump. I could get a new pump on amazon for $270 (with one year less warranty). I opted to try my luck and rebuild it myself. Wa-la.. our pump is working again. Ymmv. Of note: They recommend not rebuilding these pumps more than two times. First, watch a yt video and see how its done. I opened up my pump and verified the 2x diaphragms were indeed bad and that the selector switch (older models have a sheer screw) was displaced before ordering. Lastly, enjoy a well-earned tasty beverage and watch your wife/partner/friend/whoevers eyes glow with satisfaction (or envy) after youve saved $190+ on a repair.

> 3 dayI purchased the full OEM kit late Nov 2018 and expected (rightly/wrongly) the parts to last 5 years, so I was slightly surprised when the diaphragms went out this week. I was tempted to go with 4 stars, but our area of Texas did experience record cold (6 degrees) in Feb 21 and record heat this summer (59 days above 100 degrees), so that may be a factor. I am purchasing OEM diaphragms-only this time...
