> 24 hourThis is a fabulous deal. I was leery of reported rusty metal near gaskets that would fail, so I purchased an extended warranty. But as the instruction booklet advises, I left the tanks and filter, front spray cover and spinner brushes to dry overnight like I did the carpet (after hand-toweling dry tank gaskets/pin and rest of the body). I released the handle and left the Hoover outstretched to dry on the living room tile. In the morning, I used an old travel-sized Sticky Buddy (lint/hair remover, pictured) to remove the lint from the (dry) black tank filter - 95% came off after the first pass on each side. I also took a Philips trimmer comb (pictured) Id never used, to gently (don’t break anything) lift/nudge the gray fuzz out of the soft (dry) spinner bristles (the fuzz has been “washed” after all); compare the 2 cleaned scrubber wheels at each end to the 3 uncombed ones in between. My naturally speckled 9-yr-old rental carpet looked like side-by-side moped tires dipped in axle grease had been making their way between the living room tile and the bathroom (top left), along the foot of the bed/dressers (from tile toward the right) and general gray grunge for the remaining carpet (center). It was depressing. All gone now, using only a fraction of the Hoover box’s enclosed cleaner solution, after 3 years of neglect (my ancient Pro Heat died, so I tried various by-hand methods). Because of the build-up in traffic areas, I did not follow directions re over-wetting the carpet: I did the advised wet/dry passes a couple times over the whole carpet; then I came back to the traffic areas and did more wet passes with only occasional dry, until each section started to really lighten (at most, a minute); then I backed off and dried, rinsed and dried again thoroughly. I left 3 small fans blowing on 3 sides of the bed all night, along with a small space heater on low heat for the largest area, and plopped the rinsed tanks and accessories into those streams of fan-blown air. All told, I spent about an hour shampooing/rinsing/sucking-dry the carpet around my bed and short hallway to the bathroom, and another hour rinsing/drying tanks/parts and doing silly things like combing spinner brushes. This Hoover is smaller, lighter and more maneuverable than my old Pro Heat (except for sneaking under furniture edges). Heavy/bulky upholstery tools are stored in a separate accessory bag, not on the machine, and all the gross stuff can be rinsed (or rolled/combed off) with ease. So I’m fine with having it next to my grandkids basket of stuffed animals (it’s certainly cleaner than the bottom of my shoes that tracked carport oil/silt onto the carpet in the first place, lol). I will likely use the Hoover only once or twice a year for 100 sq ft of carpet, so taking time to clean/dry it for storage afterward is no big deal. It’s not a commercial-grade behemoth. You can’t fling it around like a mop, either: just slowly up and back, overlap, slowly up and back about one foot/sec – works GREAT. Sneaking the scrubber under furniture will press the Hoover’s upper tank against that furniture and pry it loose from its gasket so the Hoover stops sucking. But it has accessory tools to clean where its built-in brushes cant go. Also, note that the latch for the lower tank is shared with the spray shield below – since the latch is happy to flip either way, it takes a few tries to get the hang of how it should look/feel – there is no solid thunk as it latches successfully onto the lip of the tank. And yes, I wish the cord were about 3 ft longer. I can’t speak to its longevity yet, but I found this carpet cleaner to be thoughtfully engineered, the parts align/latch correctly, its tanks are easy to fill/empty. It’s clean, so I can keep it handy indoors for any kiddie spills that occur. There may be lemons out there, but the one I received completely refurbished the pitiful carpet I’ve been living with. Thank you, Hoover and Amazon Prime!

> 24 hourSEE PHOTOS! Two years ago we made an addition to our family. Petunia. We love her dearly. Petunia has become the Head of Household. She occasionally decides to pee on the carpet. Poop on the carpet. Throw up on the carpet. Run her muddy paws all over the carpet. Our carpets were FILTHY. To be fair and upfront, after using this thing all of our carpets look a MILLION TIMES BETTER. They LOOK relatively brand new, and without any NOTICEABLE sign of accidents, dirty shoes, spills, etc. etc. I WOULD recommend this product for an inexpensive, economical, quick carpet clean. Important takeaways below, along with PROS & CONS: PROS: 1. Removed any noticeable sign of 2 years worth of dirty shoes, pee, poop, throw up, spills etc. in one go. 2. 8 foot extension hose for accessories-Makes it very easy for spot cleaning, stairs, corners, etc.-NO NEED to move the actual machine with a very long reach. 3. Accessory Scrub Brush-Out of all of the accessories, this one is the go to. Clean up accidents and spot messes with ease. Very quick. Very easy. FAR Better, and easier than doing so by hand. Takes :30 seconds to clean up an accident. 4. EASY CLEANING-Every single piece can be removed from the machine for very easy cleaning, including the individual spin brush heads on the main machine (Photos). 5. NO ASSEMBLY! Takes 10 seconds to attach ALL parts and this thing is ready to go. Removal of all parts takes the same amount of time. Fill the fluid tank with water to the fill line-Fill the carpet cleaning solution portion of the fill tank to the fill line-Ready to roll. 6. Very light weight-Easy to maneuver and carry, if necessary. 7. Very easy to attach accessories (Photo) 8. Accessories included CONS: 1. SEEMS to be made of VERY cheap material-Concerned about how long this thing will last...Not an ounce of solid metal to be found. All plastic, almost all plastic parts. 2. QUESTIONABLE SUCTION-First time using this thing, the DIrty Water Tank was FULL of almost BLACK water. This is exactly what I wanted to see. Obviously the job was being done. However, now the dirty water tank does not collect nearly as much water in general. The water is still dark, and clearly there is cleaning being done-There is just not even close to as MUCH suction and the floors remain VERY wet. 3. MAIN Spin Brush Heads (Mainly Utilized-Main Machine) REST on the floor-They are pushed into the carpet by gravity alone. Therefore, I am a little concerned with how deep down this thing actually cleans. They basically just rest on top of the carpet, and nothing PUSHES the brushes down into the carpet other than gravity-And theres not much, considering the main spin brush unit is very light. 4. Accessory Spin Brush Head is RIDICULOUSLY difficult to remove from the 8 foot accessory hose. Manual makes it look very simple-its not. Supposed to use your thumb to lift up a plastic piece for removal-Much easier said than done-Can actually hurt... 5. Spin Brush Heads, including accessory Spin Brush Head does not seem to be very powerful-They do not rotate as fast or with as much power as I would have hoped. Considering the main Spin Brushes rest on the carpet, I would have liked to see more power from these. 6. BIGGEST CONCERN-ONLY CLEANING SURFACE. Due to no pressure on the main spin brushes, dont expect a very deep clean. As a matter of fact, there is still a smell of dog pee even after it LOOKS like the mess is completely gone. RECOMMENDATION: BUY IT. If you are renting a carpet cleaner 3x per year, you cant go wrong. Now you do not need to make a trip to the store, pay $40 for renting the machine & purchase of cleaning solution, and you can clean your carpets whenever you want. Good investment. Will make your carpets LOOK a million times better, but do not expect a deep clean like you would get from an industrial type of machine and dont expect this thing to last forever...

> 24 hourI absolutely love this machine! It’s a powerhouse cleaner. It holds a generous amount of water and it’s simple to use & clean. The multiple rotating scrubber heads really do scrub the carpets cleaner than any other unit I’ve ever used. I adore the rotating scrubbing head attachment for the hose as well bc it cleaned my couches deep down & it even scrubbed off all of the pills that accumulate on the sofas, leaving them looking and smelling fantastic. I have never seen or smelled my carpets & couches this clean, other than when they were new. Thank You!

> 24 hourExcellent for stairs. The scrubber attachment and long hose made it easy to clean the stairs. Just have to make sure that you attach it properly as improper attachment can affect suction. Im very happy with this machine.

> 24 hourMy Hoover Powerscrub XL Pet machine is Great – outcleaned all the spray cans and rented Rug Dr.s and Bissels I’ve tried. I was hoping to save carpets, instead of replace them after 4 years of spot-treating for cats and dogs, feet, food and wine spills. The carpet got so bad the animal smell just didn’t go away, even right after I spent $$ on a rental machine. A friend suggested I look at the carpet with a black light. When I recovered from gagging, I looked at a lot of machine reviews. There were 4 or 5 that looked pretty good. Besides good reviews, I chose this Hoover for the option of whole-floor or spot cleaning with the hose, and for the price. WHAT I LIKE about it: Besides just getting the carpet super-clean, I like the cleanser-dispensing bin. No need to mix cleaner into every new tank of water. One fill of the dispensing bin lasts for several tanks. It’s very light, so easy to operate even when full. Even with my multiple runs over every area, two fills of the clean-water bin did a standard-size bedroom. The machine also cleans up very easily. SUGGESTIONS: Pay attention to the machine’s directions. Its not exactly same as the rental models. At first look, I was afraid the clean water bin didn’t fit as it didn’t drop completely into the machine, but when filled with water, it fit fine. Be sure the dirty-water bin is properly set in, AND prime the machine according to directions, so the water will pick up. You can clearly see it come up into the bin. I recommend the professional cleaning solution – especially for pet-mess problems. Be patient. I made numerous runs in multiple directions over every piece of floor, and even more on stains. End result, even the worst stains disappeared under normal light, and with the black light, about 95% to 100% disappeared. And – NO more bad smells! I have NOT yet used the hose or hand tools so can’t review them. Some machines I reviewed had a feature to keep the water hot. I found this unnecessary. In addition, I wasnt worried about how wet the carpet was -- I just planned to let it dry overnight.

> 24 hourI’m coming back 6years after buying this to share my love and appreciation for it!! Best investment ever! 6.5years later it’s still transforming and reviving the WHITE upholstered Restoration Hardware chairs I stupidly bought before having **3 children**… The picture doesn’t do it justice. Without this device I would have had to spend hundreds on new chairs, but an hour with this tool every 6 months keeps them looking presentable. 9 times out of 10 I just used the attached handheld hose (vs the full on carpet cleaner) but it’s nice to have both and is not too heavy/cumbersome to move around the house.

> 24 hourWe got the XL for pets and I will say it was a great investment. I’m not even done with my hallway and I already see a major difference. You don’t have to work super hard to get the area clean. I did have the previous version and it did leak and it was a little harder to maintain. This one comes with a wand that helps you keep the wheels clean which is also a plus. we have two teenage boys, 2 cats and 1 dog who run in and out their room all day long and it’s an extremely high traffic area. all in all we really like this carpet cleaner it’s 5 stars for us!

> 24 hourWorks great. Not for big jobs because the water tank has to be emptied constantly. But overall great product. It withheld my big job.

> 24 hourI purchased this machine along with the Hoover Deep Clean and Restore Carpet Solution. I am very pleased with the outcome after using the combo to clean the carpet in my apartment. I moved in to this apartment about 4 years ago and Im not sure how well the carpet was cleaned before I took residence, but I can tell you the carpet was not new. Since, then the carpet has not been cleaned. I would have to pay to have it professionally done anyway, so I figured for what they charge Id get my own machine. That way I can clean it as often as needed. I wasnt expecting miracles but just hoping to get several stains out of the living room and help the overall appearance. However, this thing worked miracles The stains were no match for the machine & solution. I had used spot cleaners multiple times and they hardly lightened the hue of the stains. Using this on the deep clean setting removed them easily. Also, the rotary brushes do a great job lifting the carpet pile and getting rid of the matted/worn look. I wasnt ready, however, for the pure vile filthiness this thing would extract from my carpet. The solution goes on clear but the dirty water tank looked as if I was brewing coffee. When you dump the dirty water, I recommend having your emotional support animal with you. Having to emotionally cope with the dirt and grime this thing picked up was the only downside to using it. Between myself, a teenager, and my German Shepherd Mix, I figured we tracked in some dirt...but I was in NO WAY expecting what I saw. Im just glad that funk-nastiness is no longer in my carpet. I highly recommend this little machine. My carpet looks better than the day I moved in.
