This a great product. I used it to protect a couple of bamboo cutting boards. I didnt have any problems. I found the best way to apply it was put a little on the cutting board and use a paper towel to spread over the cutting board. A little goes a long way. I would buy this again and recommend it.

I have a cutting board that came with the sink and is fitted to the sink and also holds a strainer/calendar. Not easy to replace , through neglect and improper care it had dried out and the pieces came unglued. I had used olive oil and vegetable oils which didn’t nourish the wood only gummed it up. After cleaning everything up and gluing back together I started using the Howard Cutting Board Oil and the different is night and day. The Howard product is soaking in very nicely and nourishing the board so it does not dry out. Not shrinking or cracking now. So glad I picked this oil. PS it’s a very oily not too thick but not too thin either , absorbed by wood readily.

I haven’t oiled my cutting board in awhile and this is so easy to use and bought life back to my favorite board! I love the smell and had my board looking brand new!

Not really much to say about it. Does exactly what it’s supposed to. Absorbs into the wood quickly giving it a great color!

The lid had a bit of a leak, so Ive kept the bottle in a zip lock bag, but it definitely does the job!

Great quality and havent had any issues. On my 3rd bottle I used it every month or two when I lived in dryer conditions.

If you have nice wooden cutting boards or other kitchen accessories, one of the items you need to have on hand to prevent wear and cracking of those items is food grade mineral oil. I picked up a bottle of Howard BBB012 Cutting Board Oil a few weeks ago to treat our new pizza peel and it works great. Application is very straight forward... simply apply the oil directly to the wooden surface and then wipe with the grain using a soft cotton towel (Ive found that paper towels work pretty well in a pinch as well). After application let rest for 20+ minutes and then wipe clean to pick up any additional residue. If the surface is really dried out, or youre applying for the first time, it may be wise to repeat several times to really get a good seal. The result is a beautiful luster when you are done, almost as if you have applied a stain. Rich colors and the detailed grain patterns emerge. There isnt too much to say about the performance, its an oil, so it will make a mess if youre not careful. I recommend putting on less than you think you need. You can always apply more if its not enough! If you have nice pieces, its definitely worth a few dollars to keep them looking nice and ensuring that they will be around for a long time to come. We only have a few wooden cutting boards and this new wooden pizza peel (also from Amazon, see my other reviews), and I think this 12oz bottle will last at least a couple years, maybe longer. **Be sure that you NEVER run your wooden cutting board (or any nice wooden cookware for that matter) through the dishwasher. Always hand wash**

What can one say about mineral oil? Besides being priced about right, it does what it says. After about 3 months it has kept my cutting boards, one bamboo 15 by 19, the other teak 11-1/2 by 13-1/2, in prime condition and looking good. Ive known many, many people who have never oiled their boards and now I understand why they eventually cracked and or fell apart. Granted they are not expensive; but why destroy a good board if you are only spending about $8 (12 0z.) to preserve them? Howard BBB012 Cutting Board Oil is enriched with Vitamin E and made from USP food-grade mineral oil in the USA. The oil is colorless, odorless, tasteless and washes from your hands easily. Very pleased to know it is not a heavily oily substance. It is light weight and soaked into my boards easily with little to no residue within minutes. I would recommend this product. . NOTE: As of October 2015, I still have the same bottle for my two wood cutting boards and still very happy with the results. It doesnt take much to oil them up.

I think it’s a little high priced for mineral oil, but it’s competitive for Amazon. Plastic bottle was well sealed, so there was no problem with the container leaking. It’s not made in China, and that is important for any food or food grade product (IMO). It had no odor and it seemed to be very pure mineral oil. Warning: it comes out quicker than you think it will when applying! My old cutting board was badly in need of conditioning & my new bamboo cutting board looks great after applying. If you were going to oil an entire butcher block table or countertop, you will probably need a larger amount. The manufacturer offers lots of helpful, detailed information here on Amazon about using the product & how often you should oil your cutting boards. I discovered that I can use it for my cast iron cookware too! So overall I am happy with the product & the price.
