> 3 dayAll I needed is a temperature controller to keep baby chick from getting too cold. This one does that, but it also can be set for two temperatures with a clock to control the number of hours for the first temperature with the balance of the 24 hours at the second temperature. You can also set how many degrees below the set temperatures when it will turn on. In setting it up, you need the instructions as you step through a sequence with codes such as TS1 and TS2 for temperatures, DS1 and DS2 for heating differential, CF for Centigrade or Fahrenheit, etc. The over and under temperature alarms are fixed at 210 and -58 degrees Fahrenheit; to me theyre useless. I checked accuracy with precision thermometers and its within a degree.

> 3 dayLike many purchasers I bought this new version of the 306T because I do not trust the thermometer on my heater. I really like the big red digital readout that shows me current temp at a glance, from across the room. There is no information yet on the Inkbird website about this new variant of the 306T. The listing photos show the only difference I can see: an all plastic sealed temp probe, that is supposed to be more water proof than the metal tipped probe. I do see than thermometer failure, while not common, is an issue with some of the 306Ts, and my hope is this will solve it. I will revise my review if it does not. A couple of things I did not know: 1st, the finest setting is +/- 1 degree. So if I set it to an average 79 degrees, my heater will come on at 78 and go off at 80. That is fine I think. Other controllers may be more precise...but then they would be going on/off much more frequently. Also, unlike some models, neither version of the 306T seems to have a replaceable thermometer probe. It is permanently attached. I had hoped that this aquarium specific version might come with a suction cup to attach it to the tank. It does not. Still, I am very happy for the price, and it seems very well made. Easy for me to set up with the included instructions.

Greater than one weekA faulty water heater is probably the biggest malfunction threat to the fish. This controller not only provides a high degree of accuracy to the water temperature, it acts as a fail safe against heater failure. It makes the whole price a bit more expensive, but well worth it for much better than average temp adjustment and peace of mind. Highly recommended.

Greater than one weekSo far so good. Once I figured out how to read the characters on the screen I understood the setup completely. I really like the unit. I use it to control my aquarium heater. Seems solid and well-made.
