The feel, the weight, the way the blades cut through fabric like butter, even the sound they make as they cut is pure JOY! As a professional seamstress in a production sewing business, I use these scissors every day. I have Ginghers and Fiskars but they dont begin to compare with the precision cutting of my new KAI scissors. I will never buy anything but KAI scissors again.

I make throw pillows for a living, so I do a lot of fabric cutting and trimming. After a year and a half in business full time, I finally realized I needed to toss my sub-par scissors and invest in a good pair. I purchased these Kai scissors, as well as a pair of Ginghers. I dont know what people see in the Ginghers. Mine are so uncomfortable to use. My Kais cut through fabric like a dream and they are comfortable to use as well. Highly recommended! Im going to purchase a second pair because my mom and my husband both help me cut fabric sometimes and we are always fighting over the Kais!

Wanted to upgrade my shears from Gingher but VERY disappointed with the quality of these. The molded handles were unpleasantly rough had a sharp mold ridge and the end of the finger holes that dug in. This defect was not unique to this partucular pair as I also tried the 7230 model and they had the same handle issue. Also, the molded part was not even trimmed up properly and had sharp pieces hanging off of it. The metal edges around the outside of the finger holes were so sharp that if you bumped them or ran your hand along them, they would cut you. I have really small hands (size XS in gloves) but had to size up to this pair (the 7230s were too small for my hand in spite of being for smaller hands). I dont know how a person With larger hands could use these, and the blades are only about 3/8 to 1/2 longer than my 8 Ginghers. I tested cutting ability and ease of use on various fabrics - these are no sharper than my 10 year old 8 Ginger dressmaker shears. Definitely not worth the money - seems like just a lot of hype around these. They were returned ASAP.

I was hesitant to pay the price for a pair of 7200-series KAI scissors but they are the best and sharpest scissors you can buy. I have both the normal a serrated versions of these scissors. Keep your fingers away from the blades! They are razor sharp! I cut through eight layers of grosgrain fabric with ease. They balance well in the hand and they are comfortable to use for extended periods. If youve been buying G brand scissors, in the past, try these and youll never go back. If youre a professional or simply want the best scissors money can buy, KAI 7000 series are the ones you want!

I am kicking myself for having subjected myself to the pure hell that is my old Gingher all-metal scissors. Those things hurt my hands so much that I always dreaded cutting anything that I could not use my rotary cutter for. For one. I think they were too small for my hands and, second, the amount of effort it took to make one cut is just too much even though they were sharp, fabric-only shears. I was about to start a sewing project that required cutting a lot of fabric, bu I put that project on hold and decided that I would not start until I got a better pair of scissors. Well, the moment these arrived and I put my hand in and tested, I knew it was a winner! When people say it’s like butter (*softened* butter to be clear, not the kind that just came out of the coldest part of the fridge or freezer), it really is. I immediately set up the project to cut and I was blown away. No hand fatigue, just smooth effortless cuts. These scissors are pure joy and a shining example of “you get what you pay for.” Get them. will not regret it!
