KAI Scissors 7250 10in Shears, Pictured

I have purchased many pairs of scissors for my business over the years. These are by far the best.

I have used Ginghers for years. Assuming these hold an edge and can be sharpened to the same sharpness they have now, I will never use anything else. Would love to know if anyone has had these for any length of time. Theyre almost too good to be true!

These scissors are AMAZING!!! Im a professional upholstery seamstress so I use scissors all day long and have to cut through some very thick fabric. For the past 10 years Ive used nothing but Wiss or Mundial Stainless Steel Shears until a local sewing supplier recommended these Carbon Steel shears to me. He let me sample the 2 scissors next to each other and it was a day and night difference, truly! While both scissors can cut through thick leather or denim with some ease, these scissors made cutting through them absolutely effortless, like cutting through butter. While the other scissors took a little extra effort. As far as the design of these scissors I love how light they feel along with the handle design. When using the other scissors my fingers used to hurt after a days worth of cutting because of the constant rubbing/holding of the hard metal handle against them but not with these scissors. They are so easy to use and not hard on the hands like the other scissors. Ill never buy anything else again as these are truly amazing scissors. Also, just as a side note: I purchased the 10 shears which work good but they are a 1/2 shorter in the cutting area compared to the 10 Mundial sheers. So if youre changing from Weiss or Mundial to these sheers then Id recommend getting the 11 as I notice the 1/2 shorter difference when cutting. I will definitely be buying more and would highly recommend them!

I was going for a handmade pair of shears from England but they are unavailable thanks to Covid. I got these instead for about half the price and so far so good. They are the tiniest bit long for me, but they are excellent in terms of balance and ease of use, I have sore arthritic hands and I am happy with these. They are micro serrated, so I hope I can get them sharpened when the time comes, I am not a fan of throwing out perfectly useful things. Time will tell.

Bought these scissors because I am going to reupholster our boat seats, and thought I could use a good pair of shears to cut my vinyl up. I did a Google search on the best shears, and Kai came up first. I know Japanese knives are the best, and it rings true for these also. These shears are fantastic! They are so smooth, and sharp, and cut thru the vinyl like it is soft butter. Do not hesitate to purchase these, you will not regret it. Very pleased with Kai brand. Since I received these, I have also purchased some Kai thread snips and they are also wonderful.

Even though they are large they fit comfortably in small hands. Great long, sharp blades that so far cut through all kinds of fabric with easy. Especially work well with stretchy fabric.

UPDATE: The Kai are spotless and supreme among scissors. My now 92 year old mother and (still ageless) sister use their Kai scissors frequently and still love them. Perhaps youre doubting the reviews for Kai scissors or feeling put-off by the price tag. Believe the reviews and buy Kai scissors! Yes, they are heavier than my Henckels, but the smoothness! The cutting ability! The total ease of use and durability of edge is unparalleled! My 90-year-old mother and my sister (age omitted for my protection) have been seamstresses since their teens, and both are thrilled with the Kai scissors I gave them. Kai scissors are worth their cost and will surprise new customers even after reading all the praise.

I cant tell you how many scissors I have gone through trying to find a good pair most of them come to you and wont even cut. I finally found a good pair of scissors. these scissors are top notch scissors and cut like a dream. I would highly recommend these scissors. there well worth the price.
