> 3 dayMy wife sews professionally. She does alterations, repairs, and custom sewing. She stays pretty busy at it, sewing for at least 4 hours nearly every week day. Like many others have mentioned, for a long time we both thought that Gingher scissors were the best. We were loyal to Gingher. Grandma has a wonderful pair of Gingher scissors. But for several years Cindy was unhappy with every one of several new pair of Gingher scissors. Twice we sent scissors in to Gingher for servicing, but they came back no better than when we sent them. They will variously grab in spots, not cut at the very ends of the blades, or be hard to close. Cindy had finally resorted to using a pair of $10 Fiskar scissors, which werent great, but they cut better than the Ginghers. Wanting to help her with this problem, and after reading so many positive reviews, I took it upon myself to order her a pair of Kai Dressmaker Shears that cost $22 back then. She was so happy with them that I quickly ordered three different pair of Kai: the 5-1/2 embroidery scissors, the 8-inch Professional shears; and these 10-inch Professional Shears. Cindy is thrilled with all of them. She says, “They are comfortable to use. They require very little force to cut even heavy fabrics. And they cut the sheerest fabrics just as well. They are sharp, smooth, and cut well right out to the tips of the blades.” I posted our first review of the 8-inch Dressmaker Shears two years ago. Since then Cindy has been using all four pair of her Kai scissors nearly every day. She keeps the 8-inch Professional Shears at her sewing machine. She keeps the 8-inch Dressmaker Shears at the ironing board. She uses the embroidery scissors for snipping thread at the sewing machine. And she keeps these 10-inch Professional scissors for when she needs to cut bulk fabric. Cindy says, “For two years now I’ve been using these scissors every day. The three larger pair cut just as well as when they were new. Only recently, the embroidery scissors have gotten to where they don’t cut so well on the last ½ inch of the tips where I use them constantly to snip thread. It’s finally time to spend another $17 for a new pair of those.” I asked her if she thought the Processional series scissors were worth 4 times the cost of the Dressmaker Shears. Cindy says, “If I only had the cheaper ones, I would be very happy. But I really like the Professional Shears. They just feel more precise, and smooth, and the grip is nicer. I still want both.” A few months after Cindy started using the Kai scissors even Grandma abandoned her Gingher’s. About her Kai scissors she says, “Wow. Now I can’t imagine not having them.” I’m sorry if our effusiveness sounds a little too much like a “Walton Family” story, but I don’t know any other way to try to communicate how good we judge these scissors to be. It is so satisfying to find a really great tool at a reasonable price. It’s just a shame that they aren’t made in America.

Greater than one weekI never thought scissors could cut like this before. It’s like butter. I’m able to cut smooth, clean lines on my fabrics. It makes my work easier and more efficient. Would recommend purchasing these scissors from this company! Shipping was quick and the scissors were in perfect condition.

> 3 dayWhat a difference! Too early to tell how well they will hold their edge but for now its the best Ive ever used. Light weight (at least they feel that way), balanced, comfortable in my hand and sharp. I cut through Sunbrella plus like it was paper without having to scissor - got on my line and followed it to the end. My Gingher scissors are now a distant second in preference - and theyre pretty good.

Greater than one weekOUTSTANDING shears! the reviews I studied before purchasing this pair of scissors wrote truthfully. These are absolutely the best ones Ive ever owned. Id been using a pair of Fiskars which had been just fine, but then I began cutting four strips at a time of a heavier fabric so I could finish crocheting a rug. The Fiskars could not quite do the job, so I laid them aside and waited until the Kai shears arrived. My, oh, my, it WAS like cutting through butter! Such a wise investment and one day one of my daughters will get these and be so happy.

Greater than one weekOH.MY.GOODNESS. Pattern cut out about 20% of the way, new scissors arrived, so I raced to my cutting table to try them out! (Dont worry, I had the scissors pointed down, never run w/scissors! LOL) Excited, I cut about 12 along the edge of a sleeve, and was so freaking impressed, I had to stop and write this review. These are amazing, JUST AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! Cutting the fleece is like cutting through warm butter, no resistance, smooth as silk. The handle is incredibly comfortable, and sized perfectly for my hands. I can see me cutting many many yards of fabric with these scissors. I have a lot of trouble with my hands, and I can tell within a minute if the grip isnt going to work. The grip/feel of the KAI is pure heaven. So what was I using/what have I used before? Fiskars Softouch Spring Action Titanium Nitride Scissor 8 - they chew, they dont cut. Theyre horrid. Ginghers - I had Ginghers for many years. They were always too small for my hands and very uncomfortable/painful to use if I cut a lot, or cut heavy fabrics. They were better than the Fiskars, but oh man, the Ginghers never cut with the smooth flow of these KAI. Why did I buy the initial set of Fiskars? Well... I returned to sewing after a 15+ year hiatus. Reading reviews, I bought the FISKARS Softouch Spring Action Titanium Nitride Scissor 8 (~62.00) based on reviews. At the time, I also bought a little tiny pair of KAI scissors. I wasnt familiar with the KAI brand, but a quilting instructor swore by the little ones, and nobody I know sews, so I was sort of a green horn where scissors were concerned. My Ginghers were mauled by paper cutting children, and relocated to one of my childrens homes never to be seen again. :) Save yourself aggravation and discomfort. These 8 KAI Prof. Shears are everything you could wish for, and then some. Yeah, theyre 55 bucks, but youll get what you pay for! Those Fiskars are now 62.00 paper scissors, banished to the gift wrapping box... Call me a KAI fan forever.

> 3 dayExtremely sharp. Very durable and reliable scissors. I use for cutting leather, and other heavy duty vinyls. These things are awesome. Sharpen them once or twice every couple months and they’re perfect. Although you can never get them back to their original sharpness. Surely my favorite scissors!

> 3 dayI bought a pair of these for myself and instantly fell in love. Theyre sharper than any pair of Ginghers Ive ever had, and they just fit nicely in my hand. I bought my sis-in-law a pair, and she thought I was being funny giving her a pair of junk scissors for Christmas, that was until she practically sliced her finger off messing with them like they were FIskars or some cheapo brand like that. She called me up as she was trying to stop the bleeding and told me they were the sharpest things shed ever touched! Last year when she passed away, my brother gave me some of her sewing stuff, and those scissors had been passed over as trash because someone had used them to cut wire or something and damaged the blades. I sent them back to KAI and requested a repair, and they re-sharpened them for me and did it for free in memory of my SIL. Excellent company and wonderful customer service!

> 3 dayI own a boat canvas business and have to use scissors all day long. The Kai 7250 has become the only scissors we use at the shop. We have 8 pairs we actively use and a drawer full of other quality brands that have found their way into early retirement! These scissors will cut just about every kind of fabric and will cut through multiple layers of canvas with ease. I can even trim off the corners of 60 gauge polycarbonate (rigid plastic) without an issue. I highly recommend these scissors!!

> 3 dayI now own the 10, 6, and 4 Kais in the 7000 series. Im not sure you can find a finer scissor anywhere. All sizes are perfectly balanced.
