I bought this so I could have a quick potty chair ready for my son who was learning to potty train. This seat has proven itself indispensable. It has worked amazing in the back of our Tahoe and mini-van for when those urgent needs arise and there is no bathroom in sight. The little bags that you use hold a lot of liquid and waste. My son is 4 years old and is 44 in. tall and weighs 36 lbs and he still uses it as a free-standing potty chair if needed when were on long road trips. We mostly use it now as a toilet ring to put on a standard toilet when using public restrooms or at someones house, as my son still doesnt like the size of the standard toilet opening. We just keep it folded up in the bag in which it came and carry it in his backpack. I absolutely love this thing and will be using it for my daughter as well. (I can also speak from experience that it does hold the weight of a 56, 130 lb woman...with absolutely no issues. It has been a life-saver!!!)

I bought this for my potty-training daughter so wherever we go we can whip this out. I have to say, it has SAVED me (and of course her) so many times, I feel totally grateful to have found this product. I especially like how clean it remains because the liners cover the entire surface. Now do I wish the bags were also biodegradable? Yes. But that probably wouldnt work well if it was full of urine and sitting in my car until I found a garbage to throw it in. So for now, I use it sparingly, but often enough to love it. Even my older kids use it in a pinch. My kids are on the tall side, so its a bit awkward getting them on it, so I hold it while they are sitting down to make sure it doesnt collapse. Boys can certainly stand and pee directly into it. I also use it inside a bathroom stall so my kids dont have to touch the big potty (or hear the noisy flush). All in all, a great resource for anyone with young children.

its itty bitty. Im really grateful for this product. I keep it in the trunk of my car. I dont use it much, but Im so glad I have it when I need it. My kids are now 6.5 and almost 4 yo. They are definitely too big to use it, and yet, in a pinch, they make it work. Ive had it for a long time now... At least a few years, if not longer.

I have a 2 and half year old girl and this potty has done wonders! I am a stay home mom of two toddlers! My daughter just started potty training 4 weeks ago. She is a little scared of the adult size toilets so I bought this to help her. Since I am a stay home mo I am always running errands and this has worked on every potty out there. I am a freak about germs and this potty allows your Toddler to place their hands on their own potty and not the toilet itself. I am excited about our road trip because if we are at a gas station and its really dirty, all I have to do is use the stand and she can go potty in the bag. You dont need their special bags, just bring small grocery bags with no holes! There is no wrong way to place this product on the toilet. It fits perfect into a diaper bag or a really big purse. Totally worth it. Kalencom 2-in-1 Potette Plus

So, I have purchased three of these since I misplaced two of them through the course of moving states and generally getting out with my kids. This is a fabulous product (hence the repurchase). This travel potty has fit any seat in any bathroom that Ive taken my kids into. It works with boys and girls and has no forward and backwards so you dont have to worry about orientation, really. The sides either fold out to be used on a toilet and act as handles for the kiddos or they stand and click in place so the seat can be used as a stand alone potty. Its easy to fold out and is very stable on the toilets Ive used so that the kids dont slide around. That is very important for the kids to be comfortable enough to go in a strange bathroom. I cant tell you the number of times Ive used this in a parking lot, park, or by the side of the road on a road trip. The handles even have a grippy, rubbery part that makes it stable when used as a stand-alone potty. It works great. The kids like the colors and they seem comfortable on it for a reasonable amount of time given that it is hard plastic. My kids have sat on it for 30 minutes sometimes, when needed. Its also easy to clean. I usually just rinse it off when I can and occasionally soap it down. The seat also comes with a fairly sturdy carry plastic bag with draw string and a few bags that can go over the potty and catch whatever the kids have coming for easy disposal afterwards. If you run out of those, you can use standard grocery plastic bags. Very good design, I think. Frankly, I mostly just put the potty seat on the grass or curb and make sure that the feet are uphill of the stream. The seat is fairly thick but I never had a lot of trouble stashing it in my diaper bag. I just have to clean out a few things first. The only problem with this potty seat is that it doesnt have a homing device so that I can locate my first two potty seats. Seriously, Id pay for that app. Happy Pottying!

A small potty for kids, very easy to throw in a bag and take with you. My kids have been using it for 2 years now. it is small so just make sure your kids know to sit over the hole, we had one accident early on with a kid who sat too far back. I bought the reusuable liner for it and used it alot when the kids used it as a stand alone potty. Now they use it over the regular toilet. I would recommend for smaller kids (mine still use it at 5 and 7 but they are smaller framed). Great for traveling. helps kids not be afraid of the big toilet and they can hold on to the handles rather than put their hands on a dirty toilet seat.

Wonderful product. Wish I had invented these. They work great and are so compact and easy to store. We have one in each car. We use ours mostly on camping trips. But, theyve also come in handy when we are on the road and one of the kids is screaming I have to go potty now. We dont have to search for a rest stop. We can just pull over in a safe spot and let them use the Potette. Both my kids, ages 4 years (37 pounds) and 7 years (54 pounds) can use this comfortably. I buy the companys liners because they fit well and dont leak. But, I know of some folks who use grocery bags, often doubling up to prevent leaks. Highly recommend!

I found this product while searching on Amazon for a portable potty seat. My 2 year old is pottying training, and while she does ok on big potties, sometime public ones can be pretty gross (public parks, beaches, gas stations, etc) and sometimes the seats are way too big. I was initially looking for one of those little quad-folding plastic seats but after reading a lot of negative reviews of those (too flimsy, slippery, etc) , the Potette caught my eye. This review is of the Potette Plus, which I understand is different from the original Potette in that the seat is designed to do double-duty as both a self-contained portable potty (used with the accompanying plastic bag attachments) OR as a small potty seat (placed on top of a regular toilet). Im not familiar with the original Potette seats but my understanding is that they dont have this secondary function. I was a little confused at how it worked, and it didnt look all that portable in the pictures but the price was right and I thought I would give it a try regardless. When I got the product in the mail I got a better feel for how it works. It consists of a small circular molded hard ring (the seat itself), with two half-moon shaped legs that fold either completely inward for storage, straight down to function as legs on a potty chair, or flanged out to function as a potty seat. When stored, its certainly bulkier than a quad-folding potty seat but its still actually surprisingly compact. It slips easily into all my diaper bags and its certainly smaller than lugging along a separate small potty chair, which is what we had been doing before I got this. Figuring out how to put it on a big potty was a little awkward at first. It doesnt fit neatly on most potties so it felt a little slippy but I found that I was trying to place it too far forward and if I slid it back just a little bit it would nestle in between the two halfs of the toilet seat pretty nicely. The plastic seat itself is VERY sturdy. I think I could probably run over it with my car without even scratching it. It seems very comfortable for my daughter to sit on. It does occasionally slip a little side to side/back and forth since it doesnt anchor onto the seat like some home potty seats will, so you have to hold it and your child steady on some toilets (which is a good idea anyway). But Ive never worried shes going to fall through or into the water. My daughter never blinked at sitting on this and in fact shell tell me she wants to go potty on the red (one)! She is very comfortable with the product. I hadnt had a chance to use it as a self-contained potty chair until this past weekend when we went to the beach and she suddenly declared she needed to go. The nearest public bathrooms were really far away and I didnt trust we would make it. Thinking on my feet, I grabbed the Potette out of my backpack, set it up in the sand, opened up a diaper and set it underneath it and she immediately used it without any hesitation. (I would have used the accompanying plastic bag but I hadnt remember to bring any). Ive read a couple criticisms of the size (i.e. the seat is too small) and the sturdyness. First, a disclaimer that my daughter is petite. Shes barely two and shes on the small side, so size is not a concern for me. Its actually perfect for her, but but also I think that even a much larger toddler would be fine. Its a smallish ring (Im guessing about 9 in diameter at the widest part) but they really dont need to have something that big if you think about it. Even if their bums hang over the edges it still serves the purpose fine (much as our grown up butts hang over the sides of adult toilet seats). Regarding the legs, to use them the potty chair position, you do have to push them in and click them into place. If you dont do that then this would be very unsturdy, true. But clicked into place they feel VERY sturdy and I would have zero concerns about my daughter falling. I suspect I could stand on it without it even wobbling, though I dont of course recommend that! It comes with a thick plastic bag that you slip it into that has been great for storage. I keep a bag of flushable wipes, and a spare bag insert in with the ring. These bag inserts, by the way, arent that much to speak of. They are a big like a plastic grocery bag with a small very flat square of what Im guessing is absorbent material like what you find inside a diaper glued in place in the middle. I havent used one to see how much liquid it would hold but it doesnt seem like it would trap very much moisure. It looks like you could substitute a grocery bag in a pinch as others have suggested but Id want one that doesnt have any holes! Bottom line is that I couldnt be more pleased with this purchase and wouldnt hesitate to recommend this heartily to anyone who is traveling with a child or who is looking for an easy-to-tote potty seat for being out and about in public places. This is going on the list of things I recommend to other moms (and dads)!

When I started potty training my son I was looking for disposable potty seat covers to keep in the diaper bag. Luckily, I stumbled upon this seat before I wasted my money on those. I cannot say enough good things about this seat and I recommend it to all of my friends potty training their kids. It folds up nicely and fits well in all of my diaper bags. Im not saying its tiny. In fact, I actually thought it was going to be smaller. I now appreciate its size, though, because the seat itself doesnt have to fold so there are no seams to pinch his bottom. Some reviewers have said its too small, but my 2 1/2 year old son is 33 pounds and fits just fine. Ive used the seat both ways and its great! We used it as its own seat on the beach and at the pool both with the bags it comes with and with a grocery bag. Both ways work great. I keep Clorox wipes in the bag that comes with it to wipe the seat down when hes done. Its quick and easy! Its also extremely sturdy. I have no doubt that it will last for my second son. We dont leave home without this seat. It makes my son much more comfortable going potty when were out and I dont have to hold him on!

When I first got this, I was beyond happy. After using it for a few weeks, I am quite disappointed. First for the toilet topper part: At first, I didnt realize how flimsy it actually was. After using it a handful of times, I noticed it dipped inward quite a bit when my son was on it (hes 25 lbs). I also began to notice that it slid and/or bent on most toilet seats. The last straw happened when my son barely shifted on it the other day and it flew off the toilet. My son landed right in my arms, thankfully. This thing slides so easily and is so flimsy that the child cant really move at all while on it. Needless to say, we wont be using it anymore. As for the potty chair feature: It might work fine as an emergency potty to keep in the car, however, my son will sit on it but has never actually gone in it. The child has to sit on the plastic bag which is weird feeling to them/distracting. I guess Ill keep in it my car and hopefully he will go on it if we have a true potty emergency and no other options. UPDATE: I bought the Potette reusable liner and my son loves this potty chair with that attached! We use the potty chair feature whenever we are on the go now. Its even sturdy enough to sit on the seat of our sedan which is great in the winter. Furthermore: I tried this as a toilet topper again (hesitantly) with the reusable liner attached. The liner actually makes it feel a bit more sturdy/comfortable and it keeps it in place better on the toilet. YAY!! And it still folds up and fits in the bag with the reusable liner attached. I still love how compact and portable it is. The reusable liner saved the Potette for us!!
