20-11-2024If you dont have one of these yet- buy it now! My wife and I LOVE this amazing thing. We are not big fans of letting our kids pee in public, as some are. This portable wonder has allowed us to make emergency potty stops in NYC parks, sidewalks and even on the subway platform. Usually, we just use it in the park when we dont want to go searching for a public toilet (which is often dirty anyhow). Use plastic grocery store bags (double bag them in case one has a hole in it) for lining, then drop them in the trash. So simple, fast, sanitary and easy. Even doubles as a kid sized (and clean) toilet seat for those public restrooms which are less than sanitary.

> 3 dayWhen I first got this, I was beyond happy. After using it for a few weeks, I am quite disappointed. First for the toilet topper part: At first, I didnt realize how flimsy it actually was. After using it a handful of times, I noticed it dipped inward quite a bit when my son was on it (hes 25 lbs). I also began to notice that it slid and/or bent on most toilet seats. The last straw happened when my son barely shifted on it the other day and it flew off the toilet. My son landed right in my arms, thankfully. This thing slides so easily and is so flimsy that the child cant really move at all while on it. Needless to say, we wont be using it anymore. As for the potty chair feature: It might work fine as an emergency potty to keep in the car, however, my son will sit on it but has never actually gone in it. The child has to sit on the plastic bag which is weird feeling to them/distracting. I guess Ill keep in it my car and hopefully he will go on it if we have a true potty emergency and no other options. UPDATE: I bought the Potette reusable liner and my son loves this potty chair with that attached! We use the potty chair feature whenever we are on the go now. Its even sturdy enough to sit on the seat of our sedan which is great in the winter. Furthermore: I tried this as a toilet topper again (hesitantly) with the reusable liner attached. The liner actually makes it feel a bit more sturdy/comfortable and it keeps it in place better on the toilet. YAY!! And it still folds up and fits in the bag with the reusable liner attached. I still love how compact and portable it is. The reusable liner saved the Potette for us!!

> 3 dayits itty bitty. Im really grateful for this product. I keep it in the trunk of my car. I dont use it much, but Im so glad I have it when I need it. My kids are now 6.5 and almost 4 yo. They are definitely too big to use it, and yet, in a pinch, they make it work. Ive had it for a long time now... At least a few years, if not longer.

> 3 dayThis is a great seat to use with the liners and to have in your car. But when put on a toilet it is a very large opening and no splash guard and not very comfortable. Since the opening is wide, it was difficult for my 2year old to sit for any long period of time. We took it on our vacation but probably wont be doing that again. Its going to live in my car and used for roadtrips and emergencies. On vacation Id still take another more comfy seat that will stay in the hotel or the fold up kind to use in my diaper bag. The liners are great tho!! Nothing else out there like this seat plus liners.

Greater than one weekI know friends who swore by having this on hand during potty training and with newly potty trained children. However, ours hasnt gotten even one use. The product works great, is small and convenient to have on hand. We just havent found a time to use it and our child has been potty trained for almost one year. I hope I get some use out of it with our second child.

> 3 dayThis little potty has been perfect. It folds up really small and fits in our medium-sized diaper bag. We keep it under the car seat for emergencies, and weve taken it several places with us. Unfortunately, parks and other places dont always have bathrooms. Weve been potty training for about a month, and it has been crucial to have a potty on hand at all times. Little ones cant always wait, nor do they give you much warning sometimes! My daughter thinks it is so much fun to go on her little potty. She also likes to unfold the legs to set it up. She really loves it. We bought a couple of packages of the refill bags, but they were pretty pricey. They work fine, but arent really worth the price, so I think Ill try the suggestion from some of the other reviewers and just use a shopping bag with paper towels when we run out. Overall, its sturdy, well-designed, and works great. I definitely recommend it! It doesnt cost much, and youll appreciate the peace of mind.

> 3 dayThis is a product that I really WANT to love. Its a great concept, and it has, in fact, proven useful for us. We keep it set up in the back of the SUV for the toddler that always needs to go potty five minutes into any car ride. Its very handy to be able to just pull over and let her climb in the back to pee. However, I do have some issues with the product: 1) Size: The Potette is quite small, and even with my smallish 2-eyar old, I have to position her very carefully and still have some occasional misses. I know the size needs to be small to be carried around. 2) Sturdiness: You have to make sure the legs are snapped in just right before a child can sit on it, or one or both legs will collapse while your child pees. Snapping them in can be difficult at times, especially when youre urgently trying to set it up to prevent an accident! Leaving it set up works fine for us, but on the occasion that we need to stow it away, getting the legs unsnapped and folded has been a pain. Ive had to pull them completely off and then re-snap them into the first hole. This makes it hard to be truly versatile and 2-in-1, at least while your kid is still in the urgent stage where they need the potty quickly. 3) Bags: Again, attaching the bags in a hurry is a bit annoying, but if you dont attach them just right they have a tendency to slip off while the child pees. The pad in the bottom isnt super large, so there still may be a bit of splash. You can use grocery store bags and a paper towel instead of buying expensive refills. Overall, the product is convenient if you leave it set up and use just as a potty, but otherwise the set up can take a little long for a small toddler to wait when they need to go quickly. If youre going to leave it set up anyway, a small one-piece potty is probably a sturdier option. This fits well in a small stroller basket or tote bag for shopping, if you do want to carry it around. I have not used it as a trainer seat, but it seems that it fits well on the toilet and gives the child a clean place to hold. You just then have to deal with folding and unfolding the legs.

> 3 dayI use this a lot more than I thought I would! My daughter was scared of the big loud potty in stores. This helped ease her into using public potties. She felt more secure and it only took a handful of times using it to make her comfortable. However, I continued to use it because I felt better having her put her hands down on this instead of the nasty public seat. I kept a travel pack of disinfectant wipes in the travel bag and wiped it down each time. Now it stays in the trunk for roadside emergencies. We have used it at parks with no restrooms and once or twice on the side of the road.

Greater than one weekI recommend this to EVERYONE who tells me they are potty training it is AMAZING and I love that it comes in a plastic reusable bag for sanitary reasons AND it comes with little baggys to go potty in if you are not using over an actual toilet (havent had to use that yet but its a nice option to have) I honestly think this is a lot of the reason that potty training went so smoothly for us! She was trained within a month after turning 2 and in underwear - no nighttime diapers or snythin just straight from diapers to undies. She also can use this herself she can set it up and I can put it away on her stool and it doesnt take up as much space as her little potty we tried did and sh preferred using the big potty.
