> 3 dayI use these to control my low voltage yard lights and seasonal Christmas lights. I really like the turn on 15 minutes before sunset feature. It turns the lights on before it gets dark no matter what time of year it is. Beats having to readjust mechanical timer pins as the length of days change. I have had these for over a year and have had no problems. I keep them in a waterproof sockit box so I cant attest to how waterproof they are. I also like the alexa integration feature.

Greater than one weekI have been using Kasa smart plugs inside my house for a couple of years now, and have found them to be quite satisfactory for the price, so when I wanted to expand the system to include my deck lights, a Kasa Wi-Fi Outdoor Plug was the logical choice since it uses my existing Kasa/Google ecosystem. For reasons I don’t fully understand, getting this smart plug set up and running on my wi-fi network was a little more complicated than with the indoor smart plugs. For whatever reason, it would not go into setup mode when plugged in on the deck, where it would ultimately reside. After several tries, I moved it first to the kitchen and then to the living room, where my wi-fi router is located, before I was able to successfully complete the setup and then move it to the deck, plug it in out there and connect the lights. The network now recognizes and communicates with on the deck it just fine. Once it was fully registered on the Kasa app, it took just a few seconds to also register it on my Google Home app, giving me voice control via my Google Nest speakers as well as control from my smart phone. The best part of all is finally being able to turn my deck lights on and off remotely and without having to fumble with the plug in the dark—or even go outside. The smart plug has only just been installed so time will tell how well it holds up to the elements.

> 3 dayWorks fine, easy set up and Alexa integration. I am using this indoors so I cannot comment on its effectiveness in outdoor environments.

> 3 dayMy Christmas tree has over 800 incandescent bulbs and when I set up the tree in November over 80 bulbs has burnt out. Tree looks great and the wiring is tie wrapped to each branch so replacing all the lights would be very difficult. I wanted to dim the lights on the tree this year to prevent them from burning out. So, I used this plug-in lamp module and set the brightness level to 80%. The module ramps the brightness up and down on a schedule or voice commands to Alexa. Getting ready to pack up the tree and not one bulb has burned out! The ramp up and down and limit to 80% brightness worked. Next year I will not be spending a whole day fixing the little %^$&# bulbs.

> 3 dayI use them for string lights in the backyard and clear Christmas lights on bushes for accent. They’re excellent for this use. The only negative: Alexa can’t find any grouped items. If you group something and ask her to switch it, she complains that the item can’t be located. She can find every device, but no group names.

> 3 dayWorks well. App is super easy. Love not having to go outside to turn on our patio lights, can do it from the comfort of our home when our dog wants to go outside at night.

> 3 dayWas looking for a timer/dimmer to control the LED string Lights I have going around my pool fence. The bulbs are 1w LEDs and there are 96 ( 4 strings of 24 bulbs each) of them. I saw this dimmer and figured I give it a try. Out of the box the first thing you need to do is download the app for the unit and you must also have a wifi signal in the area you are going to place it. From the app you can create on/off schedules and adjust the brightness. I was most impressed with the dimming range on my lights as they can go from 1% -100% and there is no flickering!! The unit is also controllable via Alexa or Google home. I have it linked to my Google home and so far it has been flawless. I would not hesitate to buy one of these again.

> 3 dayBelow is my 3 star rating which Im changing to 4 stars now that Ive done some more investigating. I thought rain was getting into the TPLink plug and causing the GFCI to trip - but I found out it was where the lights plugged into an extension cord. I removed the TPLink plug from the outlet and plugged the extension cord directly into the GFCI outlet and it tripped. Hmm. Guess the TPLink wasnt the problem. It turns out there was water in the extension cord plug from a heavy rain. That must have been the issue with my first TPLink plug also. So, if your GFCI plug keeps tripping and youre using an extension cord, check the female end of the extension cord and see if there is some water in it. Im going to wait for it to dry completely and then use electrical tape to keep water out of the connection. For some reason there is still some current going through the string lights even when the lights are off which is why the 4 star rating rather than 5. Original review when I thought the TPLink plug was causing the GFCI to trip: This is my second purchase of this 2 plug unit. I use it to remotely control some string lights. It was easy to setup and has good wifi range. It responds almost immediately using Alexa. I have a schedule so the lights turn on at dusk and turn off at 10:00 PM. Thats the good - now the bad. I turned off the lights using Alexa and replaced a broken bulb - and got shocked while doing so. Power was obviously still flowing even thought it was supposed to be off. I also noticed that the lights wouldnt turn off all the way - they would glow faintly. The GFCI would trip frequently as would the breaker in the fuse box. I figured I had a bad plug and bought another. It has been working fine for the most part, but the GFCI breaker would intermittently trip with it also. I replaced the GFCI outlet. No help. It had been working fine for the last few weeks until we had a lot of rain the last two days. It has now begun tripping the GFCI outlet again and the breaker in the fuse box. It says its waterproof but obviously isnt. Im going to get rid of it and try a different brand. Too bad because I really like it when it works.

> 3 dayI use this for some outside string lights and it works great. Connects well with Google assistant and the phone app is designed intuitively. I love the timer settings. This was a good purchase.
