> 3 dayKasa used to be great. My entire house is outfitted with Kasa smart products. However, I am entirely fed up with the connection problems via the app. The app is constantly having issues now - when this happens you cannot control your smart products via the app. I.E. There’s no point in having them. This is incredibly disappointing after the ridiculous amount of money I have spent over the years on Kasa products. I will be looking into other options from other companies, as I’m done waiting for Kasa to get it together. If you have no purchases Kasa products yet, I would steer clear and look into another brand. It’s not worth the frustration.

Greater than one weekThe set up is super easy. I was able to add it to my alexa, and set up the times I wanted my lights to come on. It connects to your wifi, and you can download the app that goes with it. I ended up adding it to my home app, and set the schedules that way. I love that my lights turn on automatically when Im not home, and then shut off at the time I set it for. You will need Wifi in order to use them as intended. Highly recommend purchasing, and I will be purchasing even more.

15-11-2024I LOVE this brand!!! Ive given all the other kooky brands away to neighbors and bought all Kasa plugs and bulbs. I got one as a gift 6 years ago and love it. It still works, btw... Im a little behind the times and JUST started changing everything over to wifi. The first bulb I set up took about 5 minutes but everything after that was super quick. The Kasa app is super user friendly, which we appreciate because were old, and now our lives are so much easier. Crazy how something that once seemed so frivilous is now such a huge part of my everyday life. haha I no longer need to search for light switches or get out of bed because I forgot to turn off the wax burner or the spa lights. HIGHLY recommend Kasa!!! If I can set this stuff easily, ANYONE can do it!! Also, its fun to think of Alexa as my personal assistant. haha

Greater than one weekI use these to control lighting on my collectibles. The iPhone app works great and setup is a breeze. Very easy if you have multiples as you can edit your own names and groups. Most likely will be purchasing more.

> 3 dayI have used the (2) smart plugs on a few occasions to turn lights on and off when I was away from home. Last week while I was gone from home there was a local power outage and the plugs did not come back online (while other wifi devices did so). I was unable to connect with the plugs from a distance or when I returned home. When I got home I pulled one of the plugs from the outlet and immediately reinserted it. It then connected to wifi and my iPhone along with the other one which I did not touch upstairs. I contacted the company and spoke to someone in the Philippines who sent me a link by email to use a beta tester app that deals with bugs. I dont want to play around with this, simply want a plug that is dependable. I then contacted chat support and was informed that it is a weakness of the design. None of the Kasa plugs apparently is immune to this. Well, it is unlikely that I will have another power outage soon but in my mind this is a limitation of the plug. Ive used it to turn on/off lights in the house so that it appears that someone is home. I think Ill use a standard timer for another light as a back-up when I am away from home in the future. Otherwise the plug is great, very easy to use and adjust schedules.

Greater than one weekThe step in the instruction that is skipped is to turn the lamp on first. OK, maybe I should have known that....but..... They do work.

> 3 dayI bought these to replace old smart plugs that were failing. These are smaller and take less space. After installing the Kasa app, these are an easy install. Something I havent found others to be. They work great.

> 3 dayI have 2 AUKEY smart switches, which are no longer sold on Amazon. So when I needed 2 more I tried these. They set up fine & initially worked as programmed. Until, that is, we experienced a power outage, which lasted a mere 15 seconds, after which they both failed to run the schedule. They still worked remotely by manually touching the power button on my iPad. But the schedule showed “connection failure.” Both my AUKEY switches were still working fine. However since I have run into this issue with the AUKEY switches in the past with power outages, I tried unplugging both switches then plugging them back in. This fixed the problem & both were immediately back up & running. But really, this should not be happening with a brief power outage, hence I am deducting a star.
