> 24 hourIf you solder you already know this is the best. I you dont, but youre going to solder, you will not be sorry. 1 lb. is a lot of solder. They have smaller packages of the same thing.

> 24 hourWas dubious of the 63/37 alloy (having grown up on 60/40) and the thin wire until using it. Flowed well and the thin wire required less heat. This is my new go to.

> 24 hourIt doesnt get any better than this. A 60/40 mix has better wetting characteristics, but a eutectic mixture (63/37) is ideal for consistently perfect electronic joints that set bright and shiny if the wire connections are first heated properly (I set my temperature-controlled iron to 700 degrees F). The type 44 rosin flux residue requires a solvent to clean it away (e.g., isopropyl alcohol), but this flux type very effectively cleans metal joints during soldering. Unfortunately, this solder may be impossible to get in the future since the ROHS initiative bans lead. The replacement silver-bearing solders require higher melt temperatures, but Kester will certainly make the best of these solder types, too.

> 24 hourGreat solder. This is the first spool of non-RadioShack solder I own, and it works SO well. Theres a ton of flux inside, and so you get really shiny, well-formed joints. Plus, its super-thin, which is great for small work on PCBs.

> 24 hourI bought a fancy new soldering iron along with a spool of solder from China. I thought the iron was a big waste of money but then I tried all my other irons and they werent working either. The solder was 60/40 and everything but I decided to go back to Kester. What a world of difference! Turns out the new iron was in fact, as magical as it seemed and now I have a 1 lb roll of solder to figure out how to dispose of.

> 24 hourThis is incomparably better than the cheap solder that comes with cheap Chinese soldering irons. Soldering with this is easy even for a beginner like myself. I just finished building a simple Pixie 4.3 radio kit using this solder and it couldnt have been any easier. I also used it to solder some powerpole connectors and it worked great.
