Greater than one weekThis is a fairly easy tester to use and it works well testing the integrity of Ethernet cables connections. However, I wasn’t aware there is a different model with a PoE port for testing so if there is any chance you’ll need that, I’d suggest purchasing that model.

> 3 dayInexpensive but stacks up well against other meters with similar feature sets that cost much more. I use this pretty much every day and it hasnt let me down yet.

07-06-2025The pin numbers on the display are much easier to troubleshoot with than previous testers I have used. Good mid-line tester for the money. Wish the case with this kit would hold the VDV500-123 Tracer. Did not really need all of the tracing plugs for my application, but they work well. More Test+Map probes in the kit would have been preferable to the numerous tracing probes for my typical use.

> 3 dayDefinitely worth the money as it pays for itself in time saved. First week I was pulling wire in an existing house to expand network, multiple 100-200 cat6 pulls. One run pin tested short on 6 and 7. Instead of searching or just pulling a new line I used the conductor length feature. Told me all conductors were 105 from my measure except for 6,7 which were only 100 which let me know the short was 5 from the opposite end. Sure enough there was a snag 5 from the end which was fixed in under 5 minutes.

Greater than one weekI bought one for me at work, and I liked it so much I bought a second one for home. I didnt read the instructions and I figured it all out in a couple of minutes. Would be nice if they all supported POE though - only the more expensive one does

> 3 dayMy cheap no name tester finally died, I wanted to get something that was a little better. I always like Klein tools, so I saw a bunch and finally decided on this. The tester works great and feels solid. The battery that came with mine was dead, not Kleins fault.
