> 3 dayIts a good tool to have if you regularly work with networking equipment. I do IP camera installs and I like to use this tool because it gives me an accurate reading on my cable runs. The only dislike is that you have to manually start each cable test by pressing the appropriate button. Other more expensive models will run the test as soon as the cable is connected. This is super minor in my opinion. Once you realize it, youll just get in the habit of starting the test manually. Like I said in the headline, its a whole lot cheaper than the Fluke Microscanner model which is around $600.

> 3 dayI love this tester. It does just about all you need before getting extra technical and commercial. What I mean is, this is more than enough if youre a homeowner.

> 3 daySeems like a good device until you learn that the best feature hub blink will not work on a poe switch in fact it might damage the tester. And get this even the more expensive pro 3 model 853 which is made for poe cant do a hub blink on a poe switch. Design and function not really thought thru. Please fire those engineers.

> 3 dayI bought the VDV501-852 but after playing with it I realized I probably would have been better off with the VDV501-853 however the -852 will do what I need it to do.

> 3 dayThe items was delivered within the time indicated by Amazon. The feature of measuring the length of the cable is within 1 - 1.5m accurate... which is sufficient for my needs. A good purchase all round.

> 3 dayGood tester with two big caveats: it has a horrible battery connector and it is inaccurate measuring ethernet cable length on pins 4 and 5. The first is a real bummer - no matter how well you plug in the battery, gently turning the device will eventually make it disconnect. This device is not even ready for hobbyist use, lest for a worksite.

> 3 dayI made a smart decision to have my house wired with Ethernet ports, but the electrican failed to number or otherwise mark the ports. This kit makes both identifying and testing ports back to the hub quick and easy. A reasonably-priced solution to a frustrating problem!
