> 3 dayI own a 2018 Harley SGS Im 5.8 I went with the 6.5 blacked out flare to match my vivid blackedout bike. I initially installed it and had a gap left and right side so I looked back at the instructions and it states start with the outside bolts first hand tightened each equally however, still an issue not until I applied a little pressure on the edge of the shield buckling it a little while using my are to apply pressure on the trim and tighten left to right did I was able to eliminate both gaps. Its tricky but the windshield fits you have to work at it a little to get it perfect. As for the riding now why didnt I get it sooner its like a different bike way more enjoyable at higher speeds over 50+ also, no more helmet buffeting and I can hear my stock radio super clear now. I give it 5 stars for quality I didnt want to go with a $30 alternative that isnt even close to the stock one for safety and quality. Klock werks should update their instructions with some troubleshooting Incase people run into the same issue as me I didnt think a gap of about 1/8th of an inch was normal yes its tricky but dont give up I went back and started over and follow the instructions to the key still had a gap again keep bolts loose hand tighten equal apply a little buckle pressure at each end to give it a bow curve tighten at same time using your left arm to keep pressure on the trim do this Incase you run into same issue as me

07-06-2025Perfect fit for me (64) on my 17 Street Glide Special being able to see over the top while it kills all head buffeting. Very easy install and looks pretty good.

> 3 dayI have two of these for my FLHTC... the 6 dark smoke for local shorter cruising in and the 8.5 light smoked for touring... Both are awesome... especially at higher speeds... You can feel the front end being pushed down... I have no problem with the distortion in the shield as I dont look through it... I look above it... and when I have to look through it I do so in the middle of the shield with much less distortion... I would not bother with any other windshield now...!

The Flip
The flip at the top of the Flare redirects air back as clean, less turbulent air for rider and passenger. Don"t just block or push the air, use the air for you, redirecting the wind to improve your ride.
The Hips
The Flare Windshield features "hips" at the sides that re-routes the wind away from you while adding downforce to the front-end of the motorcycle to improve stability vs. riding with the stock windshield.

A Few Notes!
One size doesn"t fit all! Klock Werks developed a variety of heights for many models so riders find a fit that works for them! In most cases, Klock Werks recommends you choose a Flare size that you can look over comfortably. The "Black" color versions are opaque and cannot be seen through. This color option may not be suitable for shorter riders. Windshield bags will work with our Flare. Traditional three-pouch windshield bags work with the 6.5", 8.5," 10.5", and 11.5" Flare windshields.
