LEGO DC Batman 1989 Batmobile 76139 Building Kit (3,306 Pieces)

This thing is a BEAST, in a good way. Added a light kit with a remote control and it has a built in speaker that plays the 1989 Batman theme. I’m going to buy a low profile rotating base next. In regards to the kit, 24 bags containing almost 3400 bricks, nice instruction book. It arrived missing bag #15 but LEGO was kind enough to send it out quickly, no questions asked. It arrived in a few days, way ahead of the time I needed it. I averaged assembling or going through 3 bags per day, taking my time, doing it right. Not recommended for kids under 16, for adults without patience, or anyone who hasn’t yet built a large LEGO kit of 2000+ pieces. Practice on a smaller kit before attempting this one. Price was average compared to kits of this size.

This is just a fantastic model. Lots of points of articulation, lots of detail. Its gorgeous complete- and HUGE. Complete its about 23 inches long and 11 inches wide. Im having my brother build a shelf just to display it. Great piece for Batman fans, and Lego enthusiasts will enjoy building it. Honestly, for as many pieces as it was, my son took about as long to build this as he did James Bonds Aston Martin because he was so enthused by it. Absolutely recommend it. Especially for fans of the 1989 movie.

Got this as a birthday gift from my friends, apart from their obvious generosity, nothing can top this recreation of the iconic batmobile. The part count per dollar is great , the theme is great , the figures are necessary but are great , and the build itself is near perfect. If you are on the fence about this and have the money for it, I highly recommend purchasing as not only do you get an amazing build but a satisfying building process, the design team really outdid themselves.

My husband and teenage daughter put this Batmobile together in three days, working a few hours each day. While it was a complex set, they are both avid Legos and Batman fans and enjoyed the process. There were only a couple of times when they mixed up pieces in the set, and those were easily noticed and fixed when they moved on to the next section, so they never had to take the whole thing apart to start over. And there is a handy Lego separator tool that comes with the set in case you need to separate those really small pieces from each other. The pieces come in 26 individual bags (some with more bags within) and a pretty thick manual that takes you section by section as you put the Batmobile together. The pictures are very clear and assembly is time-consuming but not overly frustrating. After finishing assembly, they had a small bag of spare parts remaining. The finished Batmobile is very sturdy and definitely display worthy. Unlike when they work on jigsaw puzzles, you cant come in and out and help here and there with putting this set together because it requires meticulous attention to detail. But it was fun to watch them and to vicariously enjoy their accomplishment. I posted a video of the assembled Batmobile, with my daughter highlighting some of the details.

Fair price, fast delivery. Can’t complain.

Im only two bags in of 24 and its awesome. The effort and detail they put into making this a true representation of the 89 films style is outlined in the start of the 400+ page manual. Its going to take some time and Im going to love it.

Expensive! But giftable, Hoping all the pieces are there, gave as Christmas gift, still not put together, but recipient loved it

Fantastic set, very detailed. Took over 12 hours to assemble. Cons: There were a few steps that seemed out of order causing some difficulty, a few of the exterior details are kinda fragile, it’d be cool if the gun covers were hinged instead of removable, and the mini figs are a smaller scale than the car. Pros: It’s huge, stands out in any room it’s displayed in, was a blast to put together, and the rotating stand is perfect. I’d love to see LEGO come out with official light kits. I installed one that just does the front and back lights, adds a lot to it.

Amazing LEGO set! This set is HUGE and full of great details and building techniques. A lot of fun to build. One of my favorite Lego sets of all time!
