> 3 dayThe LEGO Ideas 21316 The Flintstones Building Kit is a nostalgic trip down television animation history. The first animated program to be on the prime-time TV schedule (1960-66), The Flintstones has been in rerun syndication almost to this day. This kit includes Fred and Wilma Flintstones’ home and car, furniture and outdoor accessories. Four figures are included: Fred and Wilma, and Barney and Betty Rubble. Their children, Pebbles Flintstone and Bamm-Bamm Rubble, are not included. The kit is less difficult to assemble than comparable models and is appropriate for elementary school-aged children and older. It took about an hour and a half for an adult to assemble the model, and it was fun putting it together. There is a little more detail in the model than one might expect. For instance, the door-and-hinge is an assembly rather than molded plastic. One accessory, the shell car drive-in tray, doesn’t attach very well. (In the photos, you can see we attached it to a free-standing base.) There was too much furniture for the size of the house: good luck walking around, Fred Flintstone! A child (or, a child at heart) could play with the assembled Flintstones house and car. The car rolls, and the figures, furniture and outdoor items can easily be moved around. The roof of the house can be removed to facilitate that type of play, but the base could have been bigger. To sum up, the kit is a joy to assemble, and the quality is, as one might expect from Lego, excellent. This will appeal even to kids less familiar with the TV show and will be a collector’s item for the Boomer on a nostalgia kick.

> 3 dayBrought back memories from the show. It’s a very neat set with a few uncommon pieces. Wish they had a Dino figure or at least their saber toothed cat tho. Other than that it’s really cool.

I was entertained by Fred, Wilma, Betty and Barney for some years lol 10 y.o. grandson had a great time putting this together, just in a few hours too had has never seen the cartoon. The only think we noticed was there wasnt a Dino and Im sure we will meet Pebbles, Bam-Bam and Dino in a future kit lol Is there going to be kits from all the adult cartoons weve had over the years? Im looking forward to The Jetsons lol
