> 3 dayThis is the third humidifier Ive tried to humidify our bedroom. I suppose our bedroom would be considered large-ish? Medium-large, at any rate. Every other humidifier has utterly failed in getting our humidity up in there. Our house is consistently in the teens for percent humidity in the living room (which is right outside our bedroom) because of the wood stove. Since we got this humidifier, Ive been running it starting at 6 or 7 PM and running all night long until I get up in the morning around 7:30. And only since we got this humidifier have I been not waking up dry as a bone and unable to sleep because my throat, mouth, and nasal passageways are dried up. I dont even sleep with my mouth open and this is how its been feeling this winter! This humidifier works like a charm! I love how I can completely turn off the light. ANY bit of light in our bedroom at night bothers me. This machine is also completely quiet from what I can tell, but I sleep with a noise machine for a consistent fan noise anyway. I dont really go by the humidity % on the machine because Im skeptical about how accurate it is. I mean, it probably is 46% humidity in the area directly around the machine, but that doesnt do much for me 7 or 8 steps away by the bed, where I know its not. So I just let the machine run on high all night and I havent had a problem of over humidifying, so theres really no need to set the machine to turn off at a certain humidity or time. I really wish I could just fill it from the top. Im not really sure why they couldnt have made a screw cap on top in the back for that. Its kind of a pain to take off the nozzle piece where the steam comes out, then lift up the whole basin with the handle and flip it over to fill it, then handle the heavy basin to put it back correctly without clumsily knocking it or something. I havent needed to clean the unit yet, but reading the instructions kind of make that sound like a pain, too. Filling it and cleaning it are probably the only cons Ive found so far. I bought a ZeroWater filtering pitcher to fill this machine with to hopefully prevent mineral buildup. I havent had any white dust accumulate on anything so I assume its working so far. Im also using the pitcher for my houseplants. The only con for that thing is the fact that it takes forever to filter all the water needed to fill the humidifier each night. But thats not a con for the humidifier, obviously.

> 3 dayIll start of with it IS VERY quiet. You DO get a slight boiling sound on warm mist, but its not bothersome. That being said, lets move on. Received it at 7pm, had it running by 7:30pm. BY 6 AM the water level was low. It would probably have lasted until 7:30 or 8am, giving it around 12 hours (cool mist) run time on high before needing a refill. Now it was on high all night (cool mist), which brings me to my only REAL complaint. You cant preset the level for automatic. Its either 60% or nothing. Has a big beautiful number on the front to display the humidity in close proximity, but you cant set it to a specific level to turn off at. It LOOKS like you can use your phone with an app to set it, but NO. About the only thing the app does if this is all you have is collect a bunch of info IT DOESNT NEED to do the job. It will show you the humidity level on your phone, but if youre anywhere in the room the display is quite large and easily to read, making the app nothing more than another way to get spam. (oh that tasty spam) IF you could PRESET the output % for automatic, this would be a solid 5 star, as it puts out a nice stream of mist, and is VERY quiet. And honestly, it would probably only add a few pennies to the cost to do this... OPERATION: 3 mist levels and 3 heat levels can be set. Putting it in night mode >appears< to turn off the warm mist (removing the boiling sound), along with the display. Even on low mist level it puts out a fair amount, and high you almost have a fog machine, making it great for larger areas like the living room. It has an auto setting, but as stated before it will only maintain the humidity at 60% Overall, it works quite well, and is quiet enough that youll barely notice it running even in a very quiet room (even on warm mist). Good value, but would be a PERFECT value if you could set the level!!

> 3 dayLove this humidifier. I moved to a very dry climate after living all my life in a very humid one. I knew I’d need this, because on prior visits I’d found it difficult to sleep (I have a cpap with a humidifier but the thing would completely drain in the middle of the night even on the lowest setting with how dry my area is). With this humidifier, I sleep very well. My cpap doesn’t completely dry out overnight. It keeps the humidity level comfortable for me. I like the ability to set a timer and to switch between cool and warm humidity. I very rarely need to use it on a high setting, so one tank full gets me through a couple nights. Which is nice because naturally it is a bit heavy to lift when full. I haven’t had any of the issues other people have mentioned in reviews. Apart from the rubber gasket slipping and leaking once, but that was easily fixed by replacing it back where it should be. It’s not tricky to clean either. I use reg tap water for the tank, and while there is a bit of a residue left on the outside of the tank and surrounding areas from the high mineral content, it’s not enough to bother me and is still fairly easy to clean off the machine and surrounding area. I don’t have it placed on the ground or on a wooden table. I don’t recommend that. As the mist will still land on surrounding areas. I had it on a glass table for some time and the water did leave a white residue behind, but it was still cleanable. However I found a little metal stand for it and that works best for me. I could avoid the residue with distilled water, but I prefer not to buy so much plastic bottled water, even with how inexpensive it is. However it is an option others might be fine with. I’d rather clean a little more often than go through so much plastic. The inside of the tank is easily cleaned with a little soap and water too. Haven’t had any problems with smell or mold in the six months or so I’ve had it. I run a little diluted plain vinegar or lemon juice through occasionally as well. I LOVE the ability to turn off the display. This was a must for me when deciding what model to buy. We have far too many electronic things in our lives making every room glow in the dark. I like it dark and quiet when I sleep. And I can honestly say this machine is also fairly quiet and fits the bill for not glowing brightly all night The little remote is nice too. No need to get out of bed to adjust anything or turn off the display. All in all the device fits my lifestyle perfectly. I recommend it as a good product to invest in if you’re needing more humidity in your home.

21-11-2024I looked through EVERY humidifier on Amazon searching for one with warm mist that wouldnt send humidity right up into the air only to have it immediately fall back down into a puddle on the ground (been there/done that!). I finally settled on this one and bought it and I LOVE THIS ONE. First of all, it is easy to fill. Top filling. No more filling a tank and carrying it to the humidifier and having to flip it upside down to insert it into the machine! Also the carrying handle is well-placed making it well-balanced. You dont feel like its going to tip frontwards or backwards. Second, when you pull it out of the machine, there is very little excess water that will drip when youre carrying it to refill it (if thats what you choose to do. I just use a pitcher but you do you). Just a dab of a paper towel and youre good to go. Third, this thing cranks out the moisture - in a nice vapor - that then somehow actually gets absorbed into the air (wonder of wonders!) and does not rain right back down onto my laminate flooring!!!! Lastly, its quiet, and it runs for quite a while on a full tank on high (around 8 hours or so?). Just buy the dang thing!! I truly do love it!!

> 3 dayAs you can see the inside area has an opening which reads “do not allow water to enter through the opening”, yet it’s part of the unit that develops slime which needs to be cleaned weekly. Having this opening in such a inconvenient area is next to impossible NOT to get water into the opening. Poorly designed. Consider purchasing a different humidifier that is easy to clean without damaging the motor

> 3 daySo I have no issues with leaking or stop working like other reviews. It’s very simple i love the top pour and when you aren’t using it take apart so it drys and I found that you won’t get any mold. Just let it sit there with water ( that’s common sense) I can feel the difference in dryness in my room so for that I would buy again and it’s sleek looking

> 3 dayWith the dry winter air in the bedroom overnight, my cats chronic rhinitis was flaring up -- he sometimes sneezes 8 or 10 times in a row and his eyes look sore. I set this up on a bedside table -- it is so quiet -- and it runs all night on a gallon of distilled water (cool mist). In one week, his congestion has improved, few sneezes and little eye discharge. He sleeps on the side of the bed where the mist descends. Also, he can be a picky eater: stuffy nose, impaired smelling ability, loss of appetite. His appetite has improved. Happier cat for sure. UPDATE: 2 months later. I switched to Brita-filtered water without any problem so far, because buying 7 or more gallons of distilled water per week is too costly. Use distilled white vinegar to rinse and wipe out tank and base once per week. ALSO, this is not top-loading. You do not bring the water to the humidifier. Instead, you remove the tank, flip it over onto a flat surface, remove (and replace) a large cap, pour in water, flip it back over, and set it back on the base. This is easy for me to do, but a gallon of water is heavy and any person with arm/hand strength issues may have a hard time. STILL, my cat and I are free of the usual winter allergy-noses and the machine works very well, shutting itself off when the desired humidity is reached.

> 3 dayI have a wood stove, so dry air is a challenge, and Ive had about 10 different humidifiers in the past several years, so Im something of an expert, I guess. Ive tried Vicks, Bionaire, Homedic, and some more expensive units. But Ive had this for almost a month now, and I think my search is finally over... this unit has the highest output of any of the steam or cool mist units Ive tried. Its really very good, in all aspects, and I havent had any of the issues others have mentioned... it simply works, its quiet, and cleaning isnt hard at all. The controls and the amount of precise control you have over the output is excellent, and the humidistat seems to be very accurate. When its out of water it stops every time, and when you refill you dont have to reset all your settings... it holds them until you manually turn the unit off. I also like how small it is, and its very easy to move it to wherever you want it. Refilling is easy, it has jsut the right amount of capacity so its not too heavy to refill (I think its 1.5 gal) and the directional spouts work very well. Ive been extra careful with the tank after reading of some other peoples problems with cracks, and its been fine so far. Of course, with a wood stove, you need a LOT of humidity replacement. This Levoit can raise the humidity about 5-10%, but bear in mind Im using this in a fairly large area, 800 sq ft, which is almost twice the recommended room size for this unit... so technically this unit shouldnt be big enough. But I just put it near our seating area and it makes a big difference... I was surprised at how much more humid the area feels. I tried it in the master bedroom and it blew the Vicks unit away, and got it to 50% pretty quickly. With the wood stove going, none of my steam humidifiers could even move my humidity needle 1%. And out of all the ones Ive tried, only my huge evaporitive whole house humidifier has more output than this one... but while that beast can raise my humidity about 15-20% only when on the highest setting, its such a pain to keep clean, you need to add chemicals which I dont feel is very safe, and its really loud... so loud we didnt use it much. I cant really think of any negatives at all... its really a great unit. I guess if I could get 2 for the price of one it would be better, but its eel worth the money IMO. BTW, my suggestion is to stay away from cool mist... in fact I will never get a cool mist unit again. Even using 100% pure H2O (distilled) from my reverse osmosis system, it still makes a white dust, and the chemicals I tried only reduced the amount of dust, but didnt eliminate it. Theyre also really hard to keep clean, and bacteria is a real problem. Plus, who wants to add chemicals to the air you breath? Check it out... I dont think youll be disappointed. EDIT: Ive had it almost 2 years now, and the heat element stopped working for the warm mist. Granted, I use it daily all winter long, but in this day and age a heat element should last years. I simply wrote to Levoit, explained the problem, verified my receipt and all that, and theyre sending me a new one. No hassles, no cost. Thats the way it should be... great company that stands behind their products! How rare these days.

> 3 dayThis humidifier is worth every dollar!! It has so many adjustments that it will easily work in different size rooms. Super easy to use. But the big selling point for us is that its so darned easy to clean. Weve had other humidifiers that leave no room to get your hand in the main compartment or even a cleaning tool because of the shape. We also bought extra filters so we dont have to go hunting for them when we need them. Highly recommended.

> 3 dayThis is the best one by far. I have severe allergies and this has helped immensely with them especially at night when i go to sleep.
