> 24 hourThis is an extremely bare bones usb drive. It feels so light and so cheap -- it doesnt exactly inspire feelings of confidence. My kids arent going to be burying me with this dive when I die. Honestly, your best bet is probably to view this thing as disposable. For $25 if I get a year out of it Ill be impressed. I mean, sometimes you get lucky with cheap hardware, but Im not expecting much. Nonetheless, it works. It works with both of my MacBooks without any hassle, as well as my Surface Pro 3. I had to download some drivers from the LG site to get it to work with my SP3, but I can play cds now.

> 24 hourI needed a cd drive for tax software this year. Purchased this. Didnt need the CD it came with, updated and installed on my windows tablet incredibly fast and worked instantly. Worked on my older mac desktop as well. Not a problem. Then this morning, when installing Business tax software, I dropped the drive off the edge of my desk, and it was caught by the cord, however the CD holder and the rails came flying out. bummer. Completely my fault, it feels very thin and cheaply made so I assumed it was gone. But after putting the rails on the CD holder and shoving it back in, I heard cracking and clicking, and low and behold, it still works! Ill probably never use this again, but it works in case I need it! Thanks LG!

> 24 hourThe software seems to have loaded but it absolutely wont play a DVD, tried multiple disks. Error is above, there is not way to associate with an unknown app. Also, when using furnished software and selecting DVD player it returns the message that the function is not supported and one must buy software to play a DVD

> 24 hourDynamite little external drive component. Installed easily and appears to have a tremendous amount of storage space. I downloaded numerous games, pictures and videos from my C Drive laptop and freed up a lot of space. And even in doing so, I used up less than 10% of the external drives capacity. The files open up easily to review and change the contents. For me, this was a must buy to rescue the storage space on my alien hard drive. I purchased more expensive externals recently that werent compatible with my Alien and cost twice as much. The unit is small, but attractive and tucks away neatly behind the laptop. A good buy at a good price and I can highly recommend it. (Actually, its the second one I purchased over the past 6 months. Still the same quality and price).

> 24 hourThis was perfect for what I bought it for. I basically wanted to transfer some music I had on my computer to be played on a laptop at another location.

> 24 hourI originally planned on getting a Dell, but after reading terrible reviews, I chose this one. Glad I did! Comes with a disc that contains 3 types of editing programs you can install on your computer (photos, videos, etc.). Havent tried those out yet but appreciated that it was included. This does its job well, and thats all I could really ask for.

> 24 hourOur law office is constantly reading and writing CDs and DVDs, and because we work on Mac computers, currently have no CD drives on our machines. Previously, we had another portable CD burner and it was horrid. Sometimes the computer wouldnt recognize the drive, sometime it wouldnt read discs, sometimes it would fail in the middle of burning a disc. This LG USB portable external drive does NONE of those things! This little thing is reliable all the time, every day. If it cant read a disc, there is definitely something wrong with the disc. If something weird happens - which occasionally does, with discs - and it wont eject, its an easy fix. (Simply unplug it from the usb drive to cut the power, and then plug it back in and hit the front eject button and out comes the disc, every time.) In an office setting where we do not have one extra minute to waste dealing with systems that dont work well, this is a blessing. Highly recommend for either Mac or PC platforms. Lightweight and durable, it is well worth the reasonable price.

> 24 hourThis is a decent DVD/RW for the price. It works tested under Mac OS Catalina which is great. Its flimsy. You need to be really careful when opening the drawer, loading the disc, closing the door, etc. There is a center spindle you need to load discs on and its also flimsy. In summary, everything works on this external drive, but you have to be extra careful when you touch it because its very fragile.

> 24 hourWorks great, but I made the mistake of overlooking the fact that since my laptop has no internal disc drive, it also does not have the corresponding (and very necessary) software. This one came with a trial version (try everything but the part you need version) that runs $60 - $99, depending upon the package you buy. I wanted a device to load DVD movies into the hard drive of my laptop and thats what I got--minus the software. So, if your goal is similar, know that youll need to invest in the software upgrade or some other package before youll be able to accomplish your task. Otherwise, its a good player with very little noticeable noise.

> 24 hourDefinitely NOT plug and play, like they claim. I am not tech savvy at all. So, this wasnt easy to use, first time out. Music CDs did play right away. DVDs, did not. The program suite this comes with, does have a media player, but you have to pay FORTY DOLLARS for the upgrade to use it. If you dont have the suite installed, it sends you to the Microsoft Store, every time you insert a DVD. So, I tried about a half of a dozen free apps from the store. In short, they were all garbage. I then went to the web, to try VLC, which Ive used in the past. I clicked download, and it directed me to the Microsoft Store, and I installed the app. It didnt work. I tried RealPlayer, and couldnt figure out how to get that to work, either. I did some more reading, and decided to try VLC again, but this time, not downloading the Microsoft Store version. It works fine. Ive noticed that with other apps as well, Microsoft offers. A lot of them do not work as good as the web version. So, in the end, the web version of VLC media player, will allow this to play DVDs. (Im running Windows 10 BTW) As far as burning CDs and DVDs, I didnt buy it for that, so Im not even going to try!
