If you are a beginning painter then you are going to use a lot of paint. This is a beautiful, primary blue, and I use it in nearly every painting that I do. I have some $50+ per tube paints, and this relatively modestly priced paint does just as good a job for what I need. The lower price also helps me feel free to experiment a bit and try different techniques without worrying about am I wasting precious resources. I love the coverage and the depth of hue. All in all, this is an excellent choice for a beginning or student paint set.

Where other paints will hold its shape on a vertical surface, this will drip down. And Im not saying thats a bad thing. The flow has its perks, especially if you want thin lines. And it mixes easier. Personally, I really like its viscosity compared to thicker paints. It will obviously not be as opaque though, if youre trying to paint over something.

I like to paint with Jesse Robertson and I get new colors according to which painting I’m doing next. I find that, even though these are basic, they provide great coverage and colors. And since I’m not a pro and selling anything the price is right too!

While some things are sometimes crazy Marked up on Amazon, this was originally ~$9 and 2 months later, ~$18. Obsurd. It is still less than the original price at many other retailers. As far as the paint, as expected. Mid/light texture, coverage. Color is as expected. But save ur $$. Its available in many, many other place for much less.

We had this plaster fish that was just a dull white. We decided to paint it and I think the irredescent white looks so much better.

I love this color, and it has worked well for me in doing acrylic pours. The jar did come with the seal busted and leaking a bit of paint. Luckily it wasn’t horribly busting out of the seams, so the loss was minimal and not worth a return or anything. I did order 5 other colors of this size (not necessarily from the same sellers), and those were all fine. That was the only issue I had, which could have been caused by multiple things - from how it was packed, to how it was assembled/sealed in factory etc. I debated taking a star off for this issue, but decided that the rating is really about the paint. Just be aware that shipping something like paint could result on this kind of issue. The paint itself is a beautiful color and I would highly recommend if you are looking for a dark, rich purple for acrylic pours. The viscosity of Liquitex Basics is reasonably heavy bodied, though not as much so as some brands. It is technically not a professional line, so keep that in mind. I think it would do well enough in brush/palette knife painting, but that’s not really my speed, so I can’t say for sure.
