> 3 dayI have bought 2 of these, i use one at work, one at home. Home consists of gaming primarily, and at work i use several spreadsheets throughout the day, the buttons to control mouse speed are very handy as well as using the thumb buttons to go back or forward on websites is very handy.

> 3 dayAs a gaming mouse it just works perfectly, and fits my hand comfortably. The Hero sensor makes it precise and lightning fast. My friend have remarked that I must be using a macro as my shooting is so accurate and fast. I purchased a second one, even though the first one is working perfectly fine as a spare.

> 3 dayyou can never really recreate the exact same mouse, because of new technology used ect., but theG MX518 comes very close to the original exept it is lighter and because of that feels a little bit cheaper then the original. I contribute that more to that the electronics used these days are just lighter in weight, that doesnt mean its inferior quality. I use mine for about a year now almost every day and it works just fine with gaming and office work.

> 3 dayI first bought an MX518 when they first came out 15(?) or so years ago. I have owned 2 or 3 over the years. It is simply the best mouse ever made. They even discontinued it at one point and people were selling used ones on ebay for $200. Its the IBM Model M (keyboard) of mice. Absolute classic. Recommended to many people and all loved it.

> 3 dayI bought an MX518 back in 2006 for my one of my first computer builds. It fit perfectly into my hand years ago. The button layout and placement felt second nature. This new version feels and contours to my hand the same as the one I bought back in 2006. That mouse lasted through 15 years of games, school work, and boredom. Hopefully, this new one lasts just as long, if not longer. The only difference I can find (aside from the design and higher accuracy) is the left and right click buttons are a little louder and stiffer than the old one. However, thats more than likely due to 15 years of wear and tear.

> 3 dayI just wanted to preface this by saying Ive been using Logitech mice most of my life, starting with multiple MX510 and an MX518. I was excited to hear that they relaunched the MX518 and ordered it immediately upon finding out. I was pretty disappointed to say the least when I actually started using it. It had the familiar grip and weight but the sensor is just straight awful. I can barely lift the mouse off the mousepad without the cursor going haywire. My 12 year old MX510 is still way more accurate than whatever this is. Feels like they just repackaged a garbage mouse as the MX518 in name only. Disappointed.

> 3 dayWas excited to upgrade my daily. Went to plug in and its literally DOA. Not recognized by windows or mac, not in device manager, etc. Tried all the software etc. Not recognized at ALL, not in device manager, no sound, nothing... Upon further investigation, as shown in another review, this is a counterfit. Box SN is covered up by random sticker. Original sticker shows a different serial number than on the mouse. Could not be more upset. BUYER BEWARE!!! Too good to be true.

> 3 dayIve been using an MX518 gaming mouse for around 15 years and have loved it. I had to replace it once during that interval but was able to get the same exact model. I recently bought another one for a second computer thinking that it would be the same as the old model other than some minor cosmetic changes. As soon as I got the mouse I could tell that it was a cheap knockoff of the old model. The old model feels nice and solid in your hand, whereas the new one feels like plastic garbage. The new one also makes a slight rattling noise when you pick it up and place it down, whereas the old one did not. I dont necessarily have any complaints about the function or performance of the new model, but the feel is terrible by comparison.

19-04-2025I dont use it for games. Thats why I left the gaming star rating blank. I use it for AutoCAD and Creo parametric. The extra buttons come in handy. Also I find having to change out batteries more annoying than a chord. So this one is perfect for my needs. And it fits perfect in my hand. Never any fatigue or discomfort. Thanks!
