MagLite - ST3D016 Maglite LED 3-Cell D Flashlight, Black

Heavy duty (and heavy) - dependable even when not used for long periods of time. This is a large flashlight that requires quite a few batteries but they seem to last a long time. The light can be adjusted to wide angle or narrow spotlight. Very bright. Not dimmable. Simple design and use. On/off Its been reliable for years.

As a retired paramedic and Aux police officer, I have carried Mag-Lites around with me for more than 35 years and have always been impressed by their quality and durability. While I have lost my share, and dinged up a few more, I have never actually broken one and that is saying a lot because it public safety we beat the crap out of these things using them for all manner of uses they really were not designed for> Now I have to admit that I did not even realize this was an LED version when I ordered the first one. I thought I was ordering a standard 3 D cell Mag-Lite. So when I got it I and realized it was LED i almost returned it as my experience with cheaper LED flashlights has been less than impressive. Am I glad I decided to give it a shot. This thing is unbelievably bright! Far brighter than my other Mag-Lites. I have since order 3 more just to have around the house, which should really tell you all you need to know about how I feel about this product.

We have always purchased these hefty flashlights for both their ability to take a beating and to dish one out. Not that I have needed to use it as weapon, but it would do nicely. Very heavy duty with an adjustable beam. My only complaint, is what used to be a forever item has trended toward planned obsolescence. My oldest flashlight is still going strong, additional flashlights I have purchased seem to have a more limited lifespan. Still overall, a long lasting product.

I never thought Id say it. This flashlight is TOO bright. The flashlight has a nice weight and isnt too long. I got the red one before a camping trip and found myself impairing the vision of all my fellow campers. This flashlight is The best Ive seen.

I bought a 3d LED recently and this thing is an absolute beast. Talk about a huge technological leap forward! You can go on flashlight/torch enthusiast forums and read all about guys who study the minutiae of every possible technical aspect of flashlights, down to the subatomic level... Ill be honest and admit that I dont care about any of the theoretical garbage. I buy lights to use in the real world, not to talk about on the internet, and I prefer maglights because I cant use a pocket light as an impact weapon, if needed. This thing is bright-bright-bright. When tightly focused, it throws a beam out to forever. For those used to incandescent lights, I really cant convey with words what a monumental leap up this thing is. Im not one whos too quick to leave tried and true technologies behind for whats new, but I am a born-again LED die hard now. The moment you have one in your hands, youll understand. LEDs are massively brighter. Massively. LEDs are significantly more durable than bulbs. They drain batteries slower. To try to make an illustrative comparison, if incandescent flashlights were automobiles as we know them today, these LEDs would be an automobile that goes 400 miles per hour, lasts for 2,000,000 miles and gets 600 miles per gallon. Its pretty much a superior technology in every possible way. If youre new to LEDs, you should be warned that youll probably find yourself playing with the damn thing constantly, when you first get it. Its like a lightsaber. No brainer. Five stars, buy.

Nice and Bright

Great size carry in my Jeep for emergency and camping! Nice the adjustment to light narrow or wide to light up the area. I would highly recommended this product!!

This light is way brighter than the old maglight 3 cell. Pop in some duracells and this baby will stay good in your vehicle for a long time. I would not waste time in finding a led bulb to place in old mag, i would buy this with the real led made for it.
