MagLite - ST3D016 Maglite LED 3-Cell D Flashlight, Black

The brightest flashlight ever and makes me feel super safe at night camping or in the dark alone. We use it every night to put the chickens away and the batteries have lasted for several months now!

This is the second maglite I have had, and the same problem occurred. The spring which hold the battery in place is too strong and causes damage to the battery and makes it leak acid which ruins the maglite. I had the flashlight stored in a drawer for about 4 weeks, and when I went to use it, I found that the battery had leaked acid, and the Maglite would not operate. Very disappointed.

We purchased a pair of LED 2 D Cells 5 years ago (for $15 on Black Friday), and use them constantly. Our one regret was not purchasing a 3 Cell, so when we saw a sale on this one (for $20), we didnt think twice about it. What we didnt expect was that the technology has improved in those years and this is much brighter than our older ones. We live in a rural area, so its great to have an extended view of our yard to check for wild animals when we were out walking the dog at night. Now with 3 Maglites we have one at each door and the 3-cell is at the door we use most frequently at night.

This product is ideal for the person who walks a pet late at night. Its a toss up whether it is a better flashlight or weapon. The third battery adds weight to improve its weapon characteristics and adds significantly to the time between battery changes. The ability to focus the beam is as good in this LED as it was in the conventional Mag-Lite.

LOVE THIS LED LIGHT! I went for the price over the color. I am happy with both. I have a playground across the street from me and for the last two years we have been dealing with drug teens using and dealing. The first night I took it out and shined it across the street to spot three teens out after curfew and hiding in the dark. It blew me away!! it was so bright and the teens took off running thinking it was the police with their spot light. I have a 1990 model Mag-Lite that is not working. That is why I bought the LED one and I am so glad it did. It is even bright then the rookies flash lights that they are using for patrol. I am all most temped to buy a couple to hand out to them for helping out around here at night. My next light will be the 2D Pro with 247 L

Talk about blinding light...its great! I love how they have changed from standard bulbs to LEDs, which, in my opinion, are way brighter than standard bulbs, and last a LOT longer too. The adjustable focus beam at the end works great, and the flashlight is completely solid and tough. I could beat the crap out of anything and it wouldnt dent any of the metal. Ive had mine for over a year now, and still going strong on the batteries. Its not like I use it all the time, but still. Great investment. Any homeowner should have one for the house when power goes out. Ive tried other knock off maglites, and nothing compares. Its worth the extra money.
