I really like this light. Its very compact and the light it self is very bright. I have use it in a crawl space where theres not much room to work or much light. Its just a very good light. I would purchase this light again.

Good if you want a nice broad light to work by. I have over 36 Makita tools, and was pleased to add this to my stable. Price was good,

Perfect amount of light. Very sturdy and should last a long time. Light switch was hard to find for most people.

Works as expected good use of light rotation and a hanger for multiple uses, great for automotive applications. Great tool from a good tool company

This thing is my most used Makita tool. It is incredibly useful - working on cars, working on the house, camping, you name it, this thing is great for it. Good brightness and the battery life is fantastic. Honestly, the only issue I have had is that the rubber bit on the button broke and so its harder to actually turn it on and off. This part is replaceable, but it still works so I have not bothered.

This is the third or fourth one of these I have purchased - two for myself and two gifts. The price has come down substantially from a few years ago. Of course you need Makita batteries and charger, but if you buy lots of Makita battery powered items like I do, youre good. I can get about 12 hours of continuous light from one charge, and probably more if I used lower power setting. Unlike a hand-held flashlight, this one sits firmly on a heavy base, and the head twists and turns in virtually any direction. So no need for a third hand when you are working in dark area - can also hang it by built-in hook. Plenty of light - cant count the under-sink times Ive used it. Sometimes I use it as a light booster on my workbench for close work - Li-ion batteries charge in less than an hour, so with two of them no problemo.

just got this and today was its first use, i was installing a furnace in a garage and put in a (maybe) full charged 3Ah battery in it, turned it on (sometimes full bright, sometimes dimmer setting) for the whole day, i just left it on to see how long it would last and it never died, so im very satisfied.

This does not come with a battery. You are buying an overpriced flashlight.

I have both the DEWALT DCL050 light and the Makita DML801 light. They both work well, although I prefer the Makita, which has been working well for 10 years now. Makita - top bends 180 degrees to fold up completely, so its sturdier in transport and more compact in your toolbox. DeWalt - top folds down 90 degrees (the descriptions 140 degree pivot is because it also bends backwards 50 degrees). Makita - the pivot point locks well at every click. Dewalt - the pivot point is loose and wont hold its position if you shake it. Makita - the top rotates 180 degrees, effectively giving 360 degrees of pivot to the light, from shining straight back to straight forward DeWalt - top does not rotate Makita - rated at 250 lumens max DeWalt - rated at 500 lumens max Makita was $20 cheaper than the DeWalt on Amazon when I wrote this review. I am happy with both lights, but the Makita gets the higher rating.
