I havent really enjoyed a Mario Party since 7 or 8. I thought maybe I had become jaded and only liked the old ones due to nostalgia. The ones after that changed up the formula, but unfortunately, not for the better. Super Mario Party, the previous Switch Mario Marty, had a lot of good ideas and was a return to classic form. It even had good minigames on average. But bad balance (and thats saying something for this series) having only four lackluster maps really drained the fun out of the experience. Im happy to say that Superstars delivers on the complete experience, despite being clear nostalgia bait. The minigame selection is for the most part perfect. The boards are interesting classics, with slight tweaks to make them more reasonable for items and innovations after the game they occurred in. Even the hub world has heart thats been sorely missing. The items are better balanced in general. The master CPU AI is not completely pathetic. They even made lucky spaces actually useful (Im still mad that in Super Mario Party nobody thought that awarding only 4 coins on a lucky space would make them worth less than a blue space on the final 5 turns, what were they thinking). In short? It might be the best Mario Party of all time. Highly recommend.

Wanna know what’s better than having your family mad at you for a regular reason? Having them hate you with the deepest part of their soul because you took their star on one of the final turns which makes you win. 10/10 would ruin any family/friend function again.

I am overall very pleased with this game apart from two things which I will explain The selection of mini games is fantastic, having only played the first two mario parties it is fun getting a game from a later game that I have never experienced. Each mini game is a certified banger, I have not played any yet that I outright hate. The features in this game are nice too. You have the option of selecting what types of mini games youll encounter during play. Choose between all mini games, only classic ones, competitive ones, family friendly ones etc. Theres is also the option to change up the bonuses at the end although I play the classic bonuses every time. The maps in this game are pretty good, but I wish there were more. There are only 5 which is surprising given the variety of mini games, I would expect the same diversity from the maps as well. There also isnt too much to do after playing all the maps. There are no additional adventure modes, more of just a playlist of mini games. Overall though, as a childhood fan of the first two games, I thoroughly enjoyed jumping back into this series

This has quickly become a family favorite. Even those in our family that dont typically play videogames are enjoying it.

Mario Party Super Stars brings back Mario and the gang for more mini game fun and board game action. This iteration is made up of fan favorite maps and mini games, but I am not sure who decided on that because I never saw a poll asking. The maps are fun and interesting and the mini games are ok. It seems like Mario Party 1-4 got the most love while the others were forgotten. Being the case, most of these game feel incredibly simple and not very intense as they have aged quite a bit. But that is fine! and honestly is good for those who enjoy simple yet fun mini games for all ages. I own all of the original Mario Parties and I think this is a worthy addition for old and new players. Biggest plus is the fast forward button and movement in the game. Things flow so much faster and I love it. Overall great game but I would have liked more more maps and games from other titles.

The graphics are much better the layout of the game is much better it doesnt feel so closed in you can play against other people online now when youre playing the boards theres more games even though a lot of them are retro games it just seems like it controls a lot better and there are some new games that are fun but once again Nintendo and three years hoping for that next 59.95 has limited how many game boards you have and it seems like when you use a computer player to fill in for the fourth person spot the computer player seems much more aggressive than the other versions of this game

We have just started playing and unlocking parts of the game, but the nostalgia of the songs from previous games brought us parents back to our childhoods. Great game play, love the new additions to the game. Must have for anyone who played any of the games from their childhood too!

Another great addition to the Mario Party Lineup. The last installment didnt hit the mark for me, but it was still fun. This one I feel is a great step in the right direction. Its easy to play. My 4 and 7 year old had a blast playing with my wife and I. The only thing I could go for (and this is with all the games) is more boards.
