> 3 dayThis is a nice upgrade to the previously released Super Mario Party for the Switch that was released back in 2018. Currently playing this on the Switch OLED, and the graphics are pleasing. A huge Mario fan here, and this game exceeded my expectations. Over 100 mini-games to play from, and a good chunk of them are just nostalgic for me! I remember playing some of them back in the N64 days. This is great. A huge plus is that all the characters, boards, and minigames are already unlocked. The bad news is that there are no other characters to choose from... I feel like there should be more than 10 characters especially including baby bowser, dry bones, toadette, toad, etc. There are a few achievements, however. If you reach level 50, you unlock the staff credits which is a bit anti-climatic... Oh well. At least there are a bunch of minigames to keep my significant other and I busy and having fun during those game nights! Cheers :)

> 3 dayMy game arrived on time and in perfect condition. The graphics are really nice and you can use your pro-controller, I dont think there are any motion controls. It seems to have more customization than the other Mario Parties. You can make the text faster, add more turns to a game while youre playing, and you can even pick what kind of mini-games you want to have. One of my favorite things is that the game saves after every mini-game/turn, so you can stop playing your board at any time and so back to play it later!

Greater than one weekNDCube finally listened to the fans and gave them exactly what they wanted. While the game is not perfect (too many lucky spaces, items are a bit too cheap, no unlockables) it is by far the best recent mario party and gives me hope that mario party’s future is bright.

> 3 dayThis was a Christmas gift for my two kids. They love the game. The minigames are easily accessible and most are a lot of fun. Their favorite is Mt. Minigames where you get to practice the different games without playing the game boards. I’ve joined in playing these games which make for quick fun without engaging in the board games that take about 45 minutes. Only criticism is there is not a large variety of games boards (only 5) and there is not a lot of unlockable content. Highly recommended for Mario fans and kids under under age 10.

Greater than one weekAre you a Mario Party fan who has been let down by the series since 9, and felt Super Mario Party was a poor imitation? If so, this game is for you! The best way to describe Superstars is to think of it like a remixed greatest hits album. The game consists of five boards from the first three games, as well as 100 mini-games from all the games. One might hear this and think: why should I spend $60 on this when I can get Mario Party 2 for a fraction of that price? You would be right: but this game has full online multiplayer. Thats right, you can play Mario Party online with your friends. In addition, there are some nice quality-of-life improvements to the games: - Peachs Birthday Cake has the Bowser seed in a different location, and going to Bowser is actually a good shortcut to get to the star. - You can now fast-forward through the previously unskippable board cutscenes. - The items that the shops sell are now tailored to the board. There are a lot more warp blocks in Woody Woods, and more Chomp Whistles in Horror Land. - Some of the mini-games have been revamped. Dizzy Dancing now has several notes to collect, and Mushroom Mix-Up now has different patterns on the mushrooms, allowing color-blind players to play along much easier. - The game tells you how many spaces you are away from the star, and at junctions, will mark where you will land. - In the last five turns, the board music will change to a more frantic remix. Yet there are also some strange quirks in the game: - Some of the mini-games seem redundant. There are two count the enemies games, and two jump on enemies to ascend the highest games. - This one brings back the Lucky Spaces from Super Mario Party, where a roulette wheel gives you either coins, an item, or reduces the price of the star. Im not certain if I like this feature or not. There are so many of these spaces on the board that it seems to slow the gameplay down. It also makes winning mini-games not as necessary. - The AI in this game can be monumentally stupid, even at the highest difficulty level. Ive seen cases where they will miss shortcuts to the star, or use items for short-term gain instead of thinking ahead. - This game has achievements, and some of them involve being in the top 1000 on online records for certain mini-game feats. Knowing how competitive players are, some of these achievements are going to become downright impossible after a few months. Should you buy it? If you have never owned a Mario Party game before, and this sounds interesting to you, then definitely buy it. However, if you already own the N64 games, consider whether the online play and quality-of-life improvements make it all worthwhile. Perhaps wait until Black Friday for the price to go down.
