Melissa & Doug 20 Wooden Animal Magnets in a Box - Cute Animal Fridge, Refrigerator Magnets For Toddlers Ages 2+

> 3 dayLove these! My son is 2.5 and loves naming all of the animals, and attempting to make all of their sounds. You get 20 animals, and each one is pictured on the back of the wooden holder (which is GREAT when you don’t have all 20 but can’t remember which one is missing). If you have a toddler, you’ll totally lose some. They have a strong hold and don’t slide around. The pictures are adorable. We like to group them in different ways: water animals, barn animals, house animals, zoo animals… etc. you can count them, group them by color/number of legs/wings, etc. I also make little groups of similar types of animals, then add one that’s completely different and see if he can figure out which one doesn’t belong. Seems advanced for a 2 year old, but he loves that game! Highly recommend these, especially with the M&D magnetic ABCs set! Have fun using them together. Hope this helps! ☺️

> 3 daySturdy. Colorful. I put these at the bottom of frig door and let my grandkids discover them. Now they run to them when visiting. We have fun naming each animal and their sound. Ages 18 months - 3. Older child pretends the animals interact with each other. I love that they are magnetic toys so that they are off the floor and do not get lost.

> 3 dayShe loves them as does her 2.5 year old sister. There nice size larger pieces with clear vibrant colors. Great way to practice animal sounds with them.

> 3 dayMy 2.5 year old son LOVES animals, so adding these magnets to our collection of play-to-learn toys was a no-brainer. As reported in other reviews, the images are printed laminate adhered to a wooden base w/ magnetic coating on the back - they have a nice, chunky thickness perfect for fine motor manipulation, and the illustrations are fairly life-like, which my son prefers. While the magnets are not strong enough to stick to each other, they adhere well to the magnetic surfaces in our home (the fridge, front, and closet doors) and have yet to fall off when said doors are slammed shut. The two nit-picky complaints I have are that the storage box doesnt have a permanent lid, and the image surface is easily dented (imprinted?) by fingernails or when banged against another hard surface. Neither impacts my rating b/c I feel the set is an absolute steal at $10 (however, if it cost more, I definitely would have deducted a star.) Other users have given these magnets bad reviews, stating that they fell apart when mouthed by their children, most of whom are reported as being MUCH younger than the recommended 3+ age group. Based on the construction I detailed above, I have NO doubt that such reports are accurate, so PLEASE - dont give these magnets to an infant or toddler who still mouths objects without maintaining close adult supervision. One last note: I saw a similar M&D magnet set sold in Target over the weekend. The Target set had 30 pieces (this set is 20,) more sea animals (this one only includes a goldfish,) had more-cartoonish looking illustrations, and seemed to be of similar construction but poorer quality (at least two magnets in each of the boxes I saw were torn or scratched.)

> 3 daySuch a great kitchen toy to keep your little one occupied while you cook or clean. Sturdy, images don’t rub off, strong magnet.

> 3 dayI love these! I’ve bought them twice since my son and hid so many. When he was 12 months old, I didn’t let him play with the smaller ones but the bigger ones were perfect! Now he can play with them all and it keeps him entertained while I’m in the kitchen.

> 3 dayI excepted a better product from Melissa and Doug. The colors are ok but not that appealing. The figures all have a large outer outline rather than being cut precisely. The box is very small. My granddaughter (two-year old) prefers to play with her other magnets better.
