As title says a few of the magnets were broken out the box.

Great magnets for babies on up….. Cute and durable…my 13 month old niece loves them and can name a couple of the animals. This is a WONDERFUL gift if you want something fun and educational. 5 ⭐️

Both my great grand children received one and they love it. They play all of the time, they are on the refrigerator so they can see and reach them. I am going to buy another for my place so they have them here to play with.

My 16 month old loves playing with these on the fridge. That being said, kitchens have water and paper magnets don’t exactly hold up the best. I would buy again, but just know they will wear quickly.

I bought these for my toddler to have something to play with in the kitchen while I cook and do the dishes. They are great for teaching them the animal names and sounds. My toddler says their names and makes their sounds. They have held up well so far, the only probables is that they are thin and can be slid under the refrigerator.

These are cute and easy for my toddler granddaughter to hold. The only problem is the paper picture of the animal tends to peel off the wood backing. I’ve already had to glue two of them. And I’ve only had them a couple months. Otherwise I love them.

This is not my first Melissa and Doug purchase. My family and I are a big fan of their products and are familiar with the quality I can expect when ordering from them. With that said, I was a little disspointed with the 20 piece Animal Magnet set we recently ordered for my daughter (18 mos) for Christmas. When we recieved the item it came in its own box, shrink wrapped in plastic. After looking at the product for some time I decided it would be safe to remove the flimsy plastic to make for easier wrapping (and consequently easier opening come Christmas). I wrongly assumed at this point however that the lid to the box of animals was concealed under the plastic. Truth be told THERE IS NO LID. Instead, a cheap plastic cover sits on top of the magnets to hold them into place. Once you rip off the plastic to access the magnets, thats it. There is no closing it back up. Besides this making wrapping problematic (I ended up taping the plastic cover to the wooden box to hold the magnets in place until Christmas), it also makes storage and travel an issue. Whats the point of having a quality wooden box to hold the animals if there is no lid to contain them? Other M&D magnetic products (like the 52 piece ABC set) have a hard plastic lid that slides into place to prevent the magnets from just falling all over the place when not in use. I was hoping for the same quality here. =/ And yes, Im including the wooden box in the review because that is how this product is described. Some how though, they managed to mix packaging and product and give us a wooden box w/o a lid. (Can you imagine buying a barrel of monkeys without a lid to the barrel??) Anyways, I was very pleased with the magnets themselves. They seem sturdy enough and have a wide varity of animals. My only concern would be what would happen if they get wet. While I know this isnt M&Ds fault (the item is suggested for ages 3+), Ive always imagined chidlrens toys should be at least a teensy bit water proof. Fortunately though, my daughter is already past the stage where she chews on everything. I cant wait to see her face on Christmas morning when she opens up her magnets! (shell be even more thrilled when she realises that the large package in the back of them room is a magnetic easel!)

I have given many sets of these magnets to young ones through the years. Children love them, they have been durable and age appropriate (although I do not allow access to the smaller pieces due to the potential choking hazard). In September I gave a set to a 9 month old. He loves moving them around, taking them off and putting them on kitchen appliances. He uses them infrequently and they have not been exposed to water, sun or inappropriate handling. Within a month, several pieces showed places where the printed animal picture lifted away from the wood. Ive tried gluing them and have been unsuccessful getting the pictures to adhere to the wood bases. I am disappointed in the quality.

A few pieces fell apart when I opened the box, I don’t think they will last long with this condition. I will be returning them.
